Let me start with the positives.Mexican style potatoes, rice, beans, and salsa.Great flavor on those sides.However, that's where the good flavors end... The lingering taste of rancid oil still comes to mind. I've been to smaller shops that keep fresh oil on circulation, but this was terrible.Maybe some people are used to the flavor, but it was definitely off.I had machaca con huevos and it was more of a scramble of just egg onion and shredded beef without much flavor beyond the bad oily taste. I'm not talking about being greasy.My wife had chilaquiles Verdes, which used the same rancid oil-filled chips to cover with their amazing green salsa. That was the best part of the dish, the salsa! In chilaquiles the eggs and chips shine together with the salsa.My son wanted two carnitas tacos...He was only eating his rice. I asked what was wrong with his tacos and he said it tasted disgusting...normally, I would shrug it off as a picky 6-yr old. I grabbed some of the meat and again the same rancid taste--dry, too!Maybe it was an off day for them? Or the 4.6 stars on here where from loyal customers who eat the same safe dish day in and day out?Who knows?The service was amazing!The ambiance is okay.If the Mexican potatoes, rice and salsa weren't so good, then I would definitely give them a 1 star for food.

All the top notch spots in Monrovia, where completely packed with 45 a 90 minute waits so we decided to stop In to a small local spot, the brunch menu choices were limited and what I ordered wasn't very good, but everyone else was happy with there orders, not sure if i'll be returning but that shouldn't stop anyone else for deciding for themselves.

Nice, cozy and homey atmosphere. Service was friendly and attentive. I thought the food was flavorful, but my chile relleno was way undercooked (the chile itself...needed more roasting and was hard to cut with a fork). The shredded beef taco was juicy and excellently seasoned though. I was disappointed with the coffee...tasted burnt. The beans and rice were spot on. Though i wasn't happy with relleno, I'd try this place again.

I really wanted to like this place but the chilaquiles were not yummy and the menudo tasted straight out the can. I won't be coming back.

My wife and I have gone there several times. We've had very friendly and great service every time and the food has been really good too! We especially like that it's a small restaurant, hole in the wall. We will keep going back!

The service was great. Ate outside on the sidewalk. Really nice with friends. Wonderful conversation. Ordered shredded beef with eggs, rice, and beans. Enjoyed it, nothing spectacular. Will go back to try something else. Eating outside is the real draw. Small restaurant, fills up fast.
Food was great tamales and taquitos great taste! Service was fast order inside and the food came in less than ten minutes Nice little hole in the wall place nice inside and out side seating!

Nice cozy spot with 2 beautiful outdoor seating in front with a moutain view. The menudo snd Rancheros were delicious. Even the chicken veggie soup they gave alot of chicken which was great. Atmosphere and customer service was awesome truly recommend.?
