The owner is half Argentinian and has all sorts of empanadas to pick from. I ended up getting their beef, spring roll, birria, spinach, chicken Alfredo, and apple pie empanadas. All the empanadas had a bready, slightly crisp, yummy fried flavored shell. Usually I don’t like beef empanadas cuz I think they’re spiced weird but this one was actually good, savory, and comforting. The spring roll one was eh. Large pieces of crunchy cabbage. Would’ve liked them to be shredded a bit finer. The birria one was filled with that yummy shredded beef that was a bit dry but the side of consume saved it. The spinach one sounds like it would be boring but BOY WAS IT NOT. Super flavorful and herby in the best way. The chicken Alfredo one was also really good and filled with those big chunks of savory chicken. Each one paired really well with their made in house chimmichuri which added a nice little bright herbyness to everything. Pro tip add some of the hot sauce with their chimmichur on an empanada and MNM. For dessert we had their apple pie empanada which had a cinnamon sugar coating that made it taste like a churro and it was filled with their tender, caramelized apples. Overall this place is pretty good.

Picked this spot off Metro as a new place to try for dinner. Loved all the empanadas I had, especially the beef, birria, and chorizo breakfast ones, as well as the beer I had.

It seemed to me like this is a well known local spot, as many people were stopping by for dinner or snacks. I also liked the little flowery ornaments at the tables.

Looking forward to trying their sandwiches during another visit in this area.

Second time ordering empanadas for a family party. Everyone loved them and no leftovers were proof enough for me. My favorite is black bean and I’m not usually a fan of black beans. So delicious, I might have to go again this week.

We ventured out to this quaint little restaurant in the Pasadena area to get some Argentinian food. I was very satisfied with the steak and Milanese sandwiches, they reminded me of my trip to Argentina. The empanadas were also filling and flavorful, I overall had a great experience and I would definitely come back.

The food was great! Wish you could make gluten free versions. We got them because we’re studying North and South American countries.

First time trying empanadas, they were very good!! But I felt like they are “American Stlye” not really like traditional empanadas.

Super satisfying Argentinian food that is packed with flavor and value. The empanadas are perfectly made, hot and crispy and filled with tender meat. The sandwiches are generous with the meat and delicious. You order at the counter and the friendly staff bring the food out. Limited parking lot but there is nearby street parking.

So, I had to take a job that I didn't particularly like. But the type of job I had caused me to pass by this place daily but I wasn't able to stop and have a meal here. So I vowed that the day I quit this job, I was going to drop in for some empanadas and maaaan was I pleased 😊😋 My daughter also feel in love. They had plenty of GOOD options and the staff was very informative. I especially liked all the cute notes describing what was in each container. ❤️ We will definitely be taking that drive from Cerritos, ALOT, to grab some more orders

Love their empanadas! There's so many to choose from, ranging with sweet to savory. Been here twice (it's been hard getting here before their 7:30 pm closing time for me), and each time I've tried something different and ordered their dozen empanada deals. A single empanada is $3.95 ($3.75 when I had first drafted this review) and a dozen for $42 ($41 before).

For savory, I've tried the beef (fair warning - there's olives in there =/), chicken, spinach and cheese, birria, spicy asada, al pastor, and chicken fajita. For sweet, I've ordered the apple pie and Nutella. Absolute favorites were the birria, spicy asada, spinach and cheese, and apple pie.

We've also tried some of their other menu items, like the stroganoff ($20) and the gaucho burger with fries ($16), and enjoyed both of those too.

For dining in, it's best to be a group of 4 or less to get a table. Otherwise, grab your food to go for home enjoyment. Parking right outside Lord Empanada is few and small, so make sure to park at the lot that's at the southwest end of Myrtle Ave and Pomona Ave. Plenty of space and spots there and a very easy minute walk to Lord Empanada!
