I ordered 4 original fish tacos which were supposed to be $.99 each in celebration of their 45th anniversary on January 25, 2024. I also ordered 1 gourmet shrimp taco which sells for $5.49) and 1 guacamole and chips (which costs $2.99). The subtotal I was charged was $13.94. It should have had a subtotal of $12.44. I saved my receipt because it didn't make sense to me. Yesterday I went back and the salesgirl said that it (meaning their register?didn't like giving away food for free (which wasn't the case) so it takes away a little of the pre discounted cost for the original price for the tacos ($4.99 each) from the original price of other things I bought. So today when I had time to think about what she said I added it up and I still was shorted. It had been over 10+ years since I had been there (probably because the food was mediocre, but I definitely will NOT BE BACK. I don't know about you but I think the receipt should have the exact price for the items you purchased???

This was my first trip to rubio's. I ordered the Mexican street corn shrimp taco and the deluxe shrimp taco with beans and chips. Both tacos were corn tortillas. The whole meal was excellent. Lots of flavor. I preferred the mild sauce but the hotter sauce was good as well. I was the only one in the restaurant but my appetite was still on Texas time. Highly recommended when you're in Arcadia.

Rubios is a chill Mexican restaurant that has good burritos. After a long trip from Florida the manager was courteous and helped us with a fish burrito for us to.share. it was delicious.

They do have good food usually. I tried to edit review to remove zipper incident, as business is generally clean and tidy, but not possible. Yelp that would be handy. It was annoying that manager offered to make it up to me by emailing them, only to get no response. Thx.

I second my former CM, @Margaret P for her sentiments on This Rubio's branch. I now have to visit this branch for my Mexican food cravings because unfortunately, Walnut, CA., lost its Rubio's there for some odd reason. The few times I visited this Monrovia, CA., branch, the lines were never long and went by really fast with customer service. The cashiers I came across were all super helpful and friendly. I always just order my usual~California Bowl with Grilled Salmon to go with Green salsa, now that's da bomb!!!! Their self-serve salsa bar is always filled up to the top of each bowl: if they may have seemed to run out, just let any cashier know and I'm sure someone will refill the empty salsa flavor at their earliest convenience. Ok, I'm seriously rooting for This branch to keep on getting lots of traffic and biz because I can't afford losing another Rubio's. Since Monrovia, CA., isn't far from my current work town in Pasadena, CA., this is my only remaining go-to Rubio's left in the area. I'll be back soon for another California Bowl with Grilled Salmon. W2G, Rubio's of Monrovia, CA. Please don't leave me.

The food here is decent, as is the atmosphere, but the prices have gone astronomical. After tax I paid $18.50 for a small bowl of food and regular sized drink. There's almost nobody in this Rubios when I come in and this is probably why.

Used to be my go-to place for bowls until they increased prices and decreased quantity/quality. Today I came in for a pick up order and the long hair (red hair?) employee was extremely rude when I asked her a simple question. I cannot believe how they have people with zero customer service skills at the front. The other girl working at the time was nicer in her response.

Tried the new avocado taco salad with chicken and it was delicious.I am concerned about the business as we were there at 12:15 on a Saturday and we were the only ones there.I have always been a fan and hope that more people continue to enjoy their food!Vegetarian options: Plenty of options for many style of eaters. Protein can be added or not.

Some paisanos might consider this gringoed but as a Mexican I vouch that it's way better than the stuff at the overrated new kid on the block! Taste is close to authentic and salsa bar is a belleza! Plus way better customer service!

Gave Rubio's a try after not going for 1 year! STILL disappointing experience. Ordered on the app 2 burritos, 1 large bag of chips and on the app there is an option to put what salsas you want. I put 3 mild, 3 hot, and 3 medium. My order gets picked up by my mom and come home to see no salsas in the bag! LOL why would I order a large bag of chips to not have them dipped in anything? I call the restaurant 4x and nobody picks up. Let's try for the 5th time, some girl picks up named Elsey. I tell her the situation she tells me, oh we don't do the salsas thing. In my head, yes you do your just being lazy. Also, if they didn't do that why make it an option for customers on the app? Side note: if I worked here and I see a customer purchased chips, wouldn't I think okay they want salsas? This goes back to hiring competent people at your stores. Also chicken burrito had no chipotle sauce in it, super dry. I told her that and she said I was in the kitchen there is sauce in it. LOL okay, now she's telling me what I am seeing and eating? Why would I lie. She offered me for "next time" 1/2 off two burritos. No way in ___ am I going back here. Management, do yourself a favor and just shut down. This location sucks. The employees want more pay to do nothing and run your establishment down to the ground. Pathetic.

Pretty horrible and would not recommend. Mexican street corn cold, chips cold, original fish taco tastes of rancid frying oil. Worst fish taco I've ever had. Shrimp taco was ok as was the mahi. Nothing to write home about. Pretty sure I recognized the packaged flavor in the "fresh brewed iced tea". Tables are sticky to touch. Kind of disgusting. Then there was the $6 something and change for 1 beer? Completely rediculous.

The chips are made of glass. I don't know how they're consistently so hard and sharp and unsatisfyingly chewy. It wouldn't be that big of a deal, but the chips are a staple of every meal, so it's always very disappointing.
