Short-staffed at first, she did an excellent job of juggling both server and cook jobs, still providing good service. The food was worth the drive.
Kid-friendliness: We ate with 2 preschoolers, who were a bit messy. They supplied a big stack of napkins, and were quite helpful.
The owners of this adorable cafe are the sweetest people with an abundance of hospitality that is rare in today’s world! The people are kind, the food is great & it is very close to the beach. I was so grateful they were nice enough to get some water for my dog right before closing and I appreciate their great help and conversation!
My wife and I ate there yesterday, as I had heard from friends about this place. It was really, really good...French toast, breakfast burrito, bowl of beans/rice/vegetables (I forgot what they called it). Really wondeful food that was both healthy and delicious. Lovely, friendly atmosphere, and Chaunda is just an amazing cook. It is a really fun and unique place:). Don't be in a rush, go for the food and the experience. Feels like you are on a really nice vacation when eating there.
Lovely place to stop in and grab a bite. Owner was amazing with food recommendations and local tips for us to check out as tourists. Great to support local business! Thanks!
Delicious well made good! Best BLT I've ever had! Shauna was super sweet, kind, knowledgeable and helpful, she shared so much about local attractions, definitely will visit again!
We picked a King suite with ocean view. There is a wonderful balcony/deck outside the room that allows you to relax, and take in the beautiful sunsets over the ocean. The staff was incredibly friendly and the room was top notch. Additional perk: there are plenty of great restaurants within 3-4 miles down Cabrillo Highway, making this an ideal location to be "away from the crowds", yet close enough to fine dining. There's also this little coffee place just 100 feet away from the Inn that also has friendly staff, solid coffee choices - and their pastries are delish! All in all, we can't wait to go back.
The portions were tiny and kinda mid and charged us 30 dollars form two tiny cups of coffee.
I reside close enough to this WONDERFUL cafe I am privileged to have had a variety of foods made by Chaunda, a food magician! Everything, every time is delicious, and prepared to make your taste buds salivate for more… my favorite … Lox and bagel sandwich, the best I have since I left NYC, moons and moons ago! And the CHIPS are ? to live for!
The room size is excellent and the room was lovely. Side view of ocean from the deck. Not really a walkable area. But again, the room was great-coffee maker, fridge, ice maker (!). No elevator so the trip to the 3rd floor was steep.
Went here with three of my colleagues today for lunch. We had the beet salad, Greek salad, two of the special croissant sandwiches, breakfast burrito and the shrimp tacos a la burrito. I have forgotten what my colleagues ordered!. Everything was delicious and the portions were very generous. Prices were very fair. But the best part was Chaunda, the owner, By far the friendliest, most welcoming host we have ever had. We are sad that we are leaving tomorrow but we will be back at some point. You need to try this place,

Excellent stop on the 1. Amazing breakfast burrito and spinach-egg-feta croissant. Owner gave great recommendations for the rest of our trip.
Did a long bike ride and ended in Montara. Realized I had never eaten in the town, so had my wife come down and join me at Ocean View due to its ratings. And was not disappointed ... the food was fantastic! Everything bagel with sausage and breakfast burrito with sausage. Wow, good sized portions, great eggs, and we both especially enjoyed the sausage.
Delicious seafood gumbo and beet salad. The server was super sweet as well. This is a small, family run business - please check them out!
Their gumbo tho! It's not spicy but does have a slight kick. The best Mac’n’cheese West of the Mississippi. The big restaurants just don't have that taste that comes from your family. Ocean View Cafe reminds me of my mom's cooking. It tastes like I'm back at the family reunion in Louisiana. Thanks for the genuine, soulful taste. TASTES LIKE A SUNDAY MEAL EVERY DAY!
Perfect place to have brunch. Small, but not over crowded. Views of the ocean, and the food was amazing!
