Went there for breakfast and the place was underwhelming. The staff was not friendly and seemed disinterested in providing a pleasant experience, service was slow and the food was OK. We paid $4 for 2 small conchas that were stale. These were the LAST conchas they had it was 9:30am when we left- they open at 8am. Conchas… It’s in their name- how do you not have any?

This place was nothing spectacular. We ordered 3 cafe de ollas with our meals and were told that the coffees came with a free refill. The waitress only came by once to check on us and one more time to give us the check. At the time of paying, we told her we would take our refills to go and she said ok. She apparently talked to the manager (blonde lady) and the manager told her that the refills were only for dine-in.

So, after $176 for breakfast, the manager refused to give us the refills to the 3 cups of coffee we had already paid for to go.

3 cups of coffee cost them a paying customer.

I'd say this place needs to rethink who they choose as the manager. She needs further training on the customer experience and creating a better atmosphere.

Go somewhere else. You deserve better.

Food was ok, they just recently open so the service was really slow, I went on a Sunday afternoon and it was very loud, it's also a bit pricey.

I really dont see why people like this place, the food who knows what it taste like because weve been waiting an hour for it.
they take for ever to seat you as well to attend you. Highly recommend if you have 3 hours to waste on dinning for plain food

Had a great lunch at Concha’s Café in Montebello! We ordered the avocado toast, the Spicy California panini, mango lemonade, and an iced latte—and everything was absolutely perfect. The food was fresh, flavorful, and well presented. The café has a really nice, relaxed environment that makes it a great spot to sit and enjoy your meal. Another big plus is the ample parking space, which makes visiting super convenient. Definitely a place I’d come back to and recommend!

Idk how this place has anything less than 4 stars. The food is fire the coffee/latte's are cafe quality and the atmosphere is good. Come and try it yourself and leave a review. Montebello got a good one.

Ive been here three times and every dish Ive ordered is less satisfying then the last.
service is average; you really would be better off making your plate at home. Steak dish is definitely not worth $.

A Breakfast Symphony: An Unforgettable Morning at Concha’s cafe

Sometimes, a meal transcends mere eating and becomes a pure, unadulterated celebration. That was my experience this morning, and I am still basking in the delicious afterglow. From the first sip to the last bite, every element was a masterpiece.

Let’s start with the star of the show: The Chilaquiles with Red Sauce, Potatoes, and Flap Steak. This was not just a plate of food; it was a vibrant, textured fiesta. The house-made red sauce was the heart of the dish—rich, smoky, with a gentle warmth that built lovingly, not aggressively. It clung perfectly to each crisp-then-tender triangle of tortilla. The potatoes were a revelation: golden, crispy on the outside, fluffy within, and seasoned like a dream. And the flap steak? Absolute perfection. Juicy, beautifully charred at the edges, and sliced with care, it was tender enough to melt alongside the other components. Together, it was a harmonious, satisfying blend of crunch, softness, spice, and savor that left me wishing the plate would magically refill itself.

Then came the French Toast with Bananas and Strawberries. Oh, my. This was a dessert masquerading as breakfast, and I welcomed it with open arms. The bread was luxuriously thick, soaked in a custard that cooked into a golden, almost caramelized exterior, giving way to a soft, pillowy interior. The fresh, sweet strawberries and creamy slices of banana were the perfect fresh counterpart. It was decadent without being heavy, sweet without being cloying—a little slice of morning heaven.

To tie this magnificent feast together was the Café de Olla. This wasn't just coffee; it was a warm, spiced hug in a mug. The deep, smoky notes of the coffee blended seamlessly with the comforting sweetness of piloncillo and the subtle hint of cinnamon and clove. It was the aromatic, soul-warming companion that elevated the entire meal, sip by incredible sip.

In summary, this wasn’t just breakfast; it was an event. A flawless trio of savory, sweet, and spiced that showcased skill, care, and incredible flavor. My highest recommendation—I will be dreaming of this meal until I can return!

Rating: 10/10 – A perfect morning celebration on a plate (and in a mug!).

I recently celebrated my birthday at Concha Cafe, and it was a significant disappointment for me and my family, who traveled from out of state, excited to experience this spot. Upon arriving right at opening, we learned they were out of stock on their renowned conchas. We even asked if they had any alternative desserts or pancakes for a birthday treat, but were told there was nothing available.

To our dismay, we witnessed other tables that arrived after us being served before we were, which added to our frustration. The long drive made us wish we had chosen a different place instead. When our food finally arrived, it was served cold, and we had to ask multiple times for coffee refills during our meal, which was quite frustrating.

We also ordered café de olla, but it lacked the flavor and richness we had hoped for. Overall, the limited menu options, cold food, poor service, and the need to repeatedly request refills made our visit far from enjoyable. Despite the buzz from Instagram and TikTok, I cannot recommend Concha Cafe. Our experience fell short of our expectations, and it was a letdown on a special day.

This place is best for parties of 5 or less. The service was very slow, not sure if it was because we had a party of 8 but we were not helped until 20 minutes after we sat down and we were repeatedly told by different servers if we were helped yet. So I assume there was a huge mixup of servers.
The food was tasty, the dishes were well presentable and the drinks were very delicious.
The overall experience was given 3 stars only because of the service, but maybe I'll try this place again just with fewer people.
