I love Rios.
I grew up in Montebello and I’m always telling the people I’m around me how it’s my favorite pizza and this location brings memories of my childhood.
Unfortunately, leadership or management towards the evening needs work on customer service, or maybe it’s just not the location to show Monday night football as it is not a priority , which is fine, but please let customers know in football jerseys before they place their order that the audio for the game will not be on.
I came because my family invited me to watch the Arizona Cardinals game Monday night 11/3/2025 5:15pm. Awesome! Never watched a game here, usually BWW or another sports bar. But as second quarter comes on, a woman who said she was the manager started turning off the audio. My family and I asked her what was going on and she initially stated that the football audio was no longer going to be on, just music, even tho we told her we came for the game. She dismissed us. And started placing her music choice on the juke box.

My brother and I went up to speak with her about if she can put the game back on or at least lower the tv volume so we can hear and they can have their music (we spent 200$ this evening together)

She said no it’s not possible. Then she said she put on 3 songs and after she will put it back on. My brother agreed. 5 songs later, I go back and ask about the tv being put back on so we can watch the game, and the woman at the register said “probably not.” So I asked to speak to the manager, the manager was apparently the woman who turned off the audio and put music. So I asked her if she can turn the tv audio back on so we can watch the game. These were her words “ We pay money to have the juke box on, I don’t want to waste money.” So then I asked her if a customer from the lobby placed the music and she said “no I put the music on with my own money.” I would have understood 100% if another paying customer in lobby wanted to listen to music because they are paying customers, but the fact knowing that the Manager of this pizza establishment that is showing Monday Night Football dismisses paying customers that came for the football game for their own benefit is not right. She was condescending towards me, I requested the owners email or business phone so I can communicate my experience with him/her and not have to place a public review, but she said he has nothing but the store phone number and gave me the Rios pamphlet.
I asked her if he was going to be in tomorrow or when he was going to be in next and she said she had no idea. I left it at that.
I am a store manager, I know there has to be some sort of email or phone number for the owner due to vendors or work orders needing to be placed, I highly doubt the owner only goes through store phone. I am also aware that we should not be giving exact schedules out due to privacy, but not being able to tell me when he’s available because “you don’t know” when YOU are the manager is just showing me you were dismissing a customer compliant and refused to provide anything helpful.

I will no longer be attending this establishment for anything else aside from take out. Which I’m pretty sure they will probably roll their eyes at this comment. lol as long as it’s read.
And no, there wasn’t other customers wanting to listen to music. They were watching the game as well, even though they were wearing dodger gear, the other couple in front and other family adjacent to us were watching the game for the fantasy league. We talked with them.
This lack of customer service came directly from the managers own gain.

This place has been serving pizza in the community since 1979. Families have been coming here for generations and I can see why. The pizza itself? Excellent. The crust has that perfect balance—crispy on the outside but soft and chewy inside. You can taste that it’s made fresh daily. The sauce leans homemade too: not too sweet, not too tangy, with just enough herbs to stand out without overpowering the cheese. Speaking of cheese, it’s generous, melty, and golden with the kind of stretch that makes you smile. These wings are the real deal. Crispy on the outside, juicy on the inside, and packed with flavor. You can tell they’re cooked fresh—not the soggy, reheated kind you get at chain places. The classic buffalo has just the right kick without being overwhelming. The staff greets you like family, and you can tell right away this isn’t just a business for them; it’s a passion. There are a lot of businesses that come and go. Rio's pizza has stood the test of time and would put this pizza up against anyone. If you’re in the area and craving pizza that’s made with care, this family-owned gem deserves your support.
