I must say, their sandwiches are a revelation. This charming deli, nestled in a cozy corner of the city, offers a delightful culinary experience that is both unassuming and extraordinary. The Ambiance Montesano Deli & Market exudes a warm, inviting atmosphere that makes you feel right at home. The moment you step in, you're greeted by the enticing aromas of fresh bread and a variety of fillings. The decor is simple yet charming, creating a perfect backdrop for a casual lunch or a quick bite. The Sandwiches - A Symphony of Flavors The real stars of Montesano are, of course, the sandwiches. Each sandwich is a masterpiece, crafted with care and precision. The bread, always fresh and perfectly toasted, complements the fillings beautifully. One of the highlights for me was their classic Italian sub. The balance of flavors and textures was impeccable - from the thinly sliced meats to the crisp lettuce and the tangy dressing, every bite was a delight. The bread held everything together wonderfully, providing a satisfying crunch with each bite. Another standout was their vegetarian option. Often, vegetarian sandwiches can be an afterthought, but not here. Packed with fresh, grilled vegetables, a generous spread of hummus, and topped with just the right amount of cheese, it was hearty and flavorful. Quality Ingredients and Generous Portions What sets Montesano Deli & Market apart is their commitment to quality. The ingredients are always fresh, and you can taste the difference. The portions are generous, making their sandwiches not just delicious but also great value for money. Friendly Service The staff at Montesano adds to the overall experience. They are friendly, efficient, and seem genuinely happy to be there, which makes a big difference. They're quick to offer recommendations and seem to know their regulars by name, which adds a lovely personal touch. Final Thoughts Montesano Deli & Market is more than just a deli; it's a local treasure. Whether you're a sandwich aficionado or just looking for a satisfying meal, this place is a must-visit. Their sandwiches are not just food; they're an experience - one that leaves you eagerly planning your next visit. In a world of chain restaurants and fast food, Montesano is a breath of fresh, delicious air.

The chicken soup was good, but unfortunately, the burrito was drowning in grease. They have a nice ambience and good service.

Had a tuna salad on sourdough. The tuna was tassels and the bread was tough and stale. Better choices for sandwiches are within a couple blocks. Had a stomach ache after eating.

When visiting Montecito, we needed to find a gift for friends who own a condo there. At Montesano Market & Deli, I bought local olive oil and balsamic vinegar. Angela was so helpful and kind!

Driving down to LA and decided to stop at this place for a quick bite to eat. Just had the montecito pollo and the chicken was dry, wrap was greesy and it didn’t come with peppers which was listed on the menu. The person working the register recommended this one to me but I’m definitely not happy with my order for the price. My friend also got the potato salad which was bland and dry.

Great food and selection of wine and snacks! We showed up at the end of the day and the shopkeeper was incredibly helpful. She stayed late and even made our toddler a peanut butter and jelly sandwich. My husband needed to use the Wi-Fi and she made sure we were all set up even though it was past closing time. Thank you so much for the amazing hospitality!!

Just an FYI. It says they are open today, Sunday. I put together a huge order for like 12 people I called I didn't answer. I assumed they were busy so I went over there and they weren't open so the hours on yelp are incorrect. I've never had them I am assuming they're going to be really good that's why I gave them four stars.

Delicious sandwiches. We had the Turkey and Roast Beef. Good quality meat and fresh vegetables. Tasty bread. The server was friendly and the shop was clean. Grab a drink and some kettle chips to make the meal complete! There is a nice seating area outside among their garden.

If you're looking for a quick bite, this place is excellent. They make fantastic sandwiches and salads. The little store has great stuff as well. We ordered the Italian salad and the meatball sandwich and both were fantastic. The bread is also incredible. Very friendly staff!!

The absolute BEST roast beef Piadina ever!!!! My mouth is watering just thinking about it! Wish Jeff would open a place in San Diego so we wouldn’t have to drive 5 hours to Montecito.

I haven't been to Montesano Deli & Market, but we've picked up lunch there a couple times while visiting Montecito. It's a newish deli owned by the same guy as Lucky's (and Lucky Brand Jeans). The food is okay. Not bad, but nothing exciting. The menu is fairly extensive, with a lot of sandwiches, salads, and other deli fare. I've tried two of the piadinas, which are Italian flatbread sandwiches, sort of halfway between a sandwich and a wrap. The Corleone was a pretty solid version of an Italian deli sandwich, with Genoa salami, capocollo, mortadella, provolone, lettuce, onion, tomato, pepperoncini, mayo, mustard, olive oil, and vinegar. The Holy Cow was a piadina with prosciutto, arugula, Swiss cheese, mushrooms, tomatoes, and sweet red onions, seasoned with Italian herbs and chili-infused oil. This was light on the prosciutto and, overall, on flavor. We spend enough time in Montecito that I feel like we'll order from Montesano again. I'll either stick to the Corleone or explore the non-piadina options. I may have yet to find the best thing on the menu, but I sense that this place is exactly what it seems like: a decent deli that doesn't need to blow anyone's mind.

Wow so good! I was next door getting my nails done and considering this new deli. I went for it and called in the Hero sandwich. Really delicious and best of all the service was great.Super friendly staff, clean storefront and delicious! I'll be back. Definitely on the pricey side but worth the splurge.
