The boss has changed and he is very unprofessional. The noodles with soybean paste are completely off-flavor. The cucumbers were cut into strips of different widths and thickness but were not cut off. He is obviously not good at cooking.

Taken a few friends here as they heard of this place being so good. I've been here before on a dumpling crawl. The pies here are filled with meat packed with flavor and juices. You'll have to vent the pie before biting into it or risk squirting your neighbor when the juices escape the pie.

Update: Ownership changed during the pandemic. The last time we were here, the dumplings tasted ....WEIRD...in a "has this meat gone bad and why is there such a sour taste?!" way. The pies tasted better but still not quite like the original. We'll forever miss the original Beijing Pie House - I will have to visit Beijing for dumplings that good again. So sad. :( Original review 5/20/2017: First time visit: Get the shrimp and pork dumplings (boiled) -BEST I've ever had. Honestly I don't even remember having dumplings this good when I lived in China (not a northerner) Skip the beijing style noodles (杂酱面) - it was mediocre at best and nowhere near as good as the ones we had in Beijing last May. The beef rolls are good...the lamp pies are juicy...the sliced potatoes are good. Can't wait to go back and try more items..but i am decidedly getting the dumplings again next time - maybe the pan fried ones this time. p.s. yes we saw a couple being asked to move to a two-top from a four-top after they sat down...we got lucky (party of 2 at a 4-top) and didn't have to move. phew... pps: they didn't offer us the corn soup thingy that people mentioned on yelp and I forgot to ask for it. :(

It really refreshed my knowledge once again. When I entered the house, there were no customers in the store outside. The front desk was actually smoking between the kitchen and the cashier! There is also an ashtray on the table in the store!

I've been to this plaza a million times to get my lashes done and this is the first time I came to this place. Parking is available right in front. Not a fancy looking place with a few tables inside. I got their leek and pork pie and omg idk where to begin. The wait was a bit long like 15-20 mins but I think it's cus they're literally freshly making it in the back. There was some soup in there and the taste was just phenomenal. I wish I ordered 2 orders tbh. That's how good it was. I will def be back!!

Looks like the restaurant changed hands yet again. It is back to being called Beijing Pie House. We arrived at 10:45 on a Sunday morning but they appear to open so we went ahead and ordered a pork pie. Unfortunately because we were the first order of the day, we didn’t receive our food until about 11:25. Tip 1: call ahead. We also didn’t realize that instead of one large pie (餡餅), you actually get 4 regular sized ones. Had I known before hand, I definitely would have asked if it would be possible to order sets of different flavors as the pricing is all the same. Despite that, the 餡餅 is quite good in flavor and not too sweet as other reviews have mentioned. Would visit again if I’m in the area.

My first impression walking in was how amazing the staff is! The guy running the front of house had a great personality definitely a people person. Now to the food! This place is known for their pies aka fried pork buns aka fried soup dumplings. These were the best pork pies we have had so far in the LA area. They are made fresh to order so be patient they are worth the wait!If you are ever coming to the LA area I recommend the pork and green onion pie. Just be careful when taking that first bite like I said they are like a soup dumpling.
