Really rude people. I usually don’t mind it but this time I think they over did it, never coming back food is good but I rather give my money to someone with better attitude. What a shame

Very disappointed. We thought the service was going to be good but the employee gave us a bad attitude. We bought 22 dollar food but still can't pay card and is required to pay 75 cents to pay by card. Therefore, we decided to pay in cash but is missing 2 cents and the employee gave us an attitude just because we took time to look for the 2 cents we were missing. They also didn't give us chopsticks nor spoons for the food we ordered. Nevertheless, the receipt was also not given to us too! Very unsatisfied with the service given at Chinatown Express-Monterey Park.
Bad experience, I asked for the barbecue pork, and all the portion was mostly fat

This place has been open for decades! They're doing something right. Their prices are just where they should be to be accessible to the entire community, including the local city college (ELAC). They give generous portions of food, keeping the community well fed :)
Good food.
Good serving size.
Decent prices.
Seat quantity is limited.
Seat quality is average.

The place looks fairly clean and organized. The atmosphere felt inviting but not all food items were available as of 7:20 p.m. last night. The portion size even though it looks abundant was below average. I paid about $10.80 for a one item combo after taxes and other fees. Everything was pretty oily even for these kinds of take out, heat lamp places, and I wish this food was a little hotter. I don't know if those lamps were working but the food was certainly not kept at the correct temperature. Their chow mein was oily but it had at least a good and pleasant, white pepper flavor to it (no wok hai or scallions unfortunately). Their fried rice was also oily but bland. Their spicy beef with zucchini and mushrooms with flavorful, but again, temperature wise lukewarm plus felt like it had been sitting there for a while--and again, extremely oily, but I asked for no gravy. They provided that sriracha sauce in sachets, which is pretty salty and has almost no acid component to it (but that was okay cuz the food wasn't too salty at least), and good quality soy sauce as condiments. Overall, if you need something quick it's not a bad place but I don't think I'll be back. They also charge a $0.75 transaction fee if you don't pay cash. Cheers.

I’ve been coming here for years…I’m seeing new faces, I’m assuming they changed owners? The past few times I’ve came my food was cold :( and the items don’t taste the same, I swear the orange chicken and potatoes were better than they are now.

We have coming to Chinatown Express for years enjoying the food. The restaurant looks the same it have been in the same location for years in Monterey Park. The combos are very affordable and choice of items you can choice for price. My wife and I always get the combos but she like to get the fried rice and I like to get the chow main get my favorite item like the BBQ pork and the beef Broccoli.

Has this place changed ownership? The kung pao chicken does not contain peanuts, is way spicier, and just not as good. I see unfamiliar faces and one of them wasn't too friendly. I'm not sure I'd return, despite coming here for years. 🥴

We go here at least twice a month but after yesterday never again. We spent over $60 just to get home and the food was bad.

I've been coming here my whole life and I've never had a problem. I'd the recommend the rice and their orange chicken. It's the best I've ever tasted (other places usually make it too sweet).
