Why is everything dirty? Do you guys not have a person to wash dishes? Server was nice and calm. Get someone to wash the dishes!
Traditional fan-tuan is ok. Soymilk is ok. Ambient is classic.
Here’s a revised version:
The experience was truly disappointing. The food was excessively oily and lacked the authentic flavors of traditional Taiwanese cuisine.
The service from the waitress was equally poor—she provided no communication while taking our order, and when we inquired about payment, she merely pointed at the wall without offering any explanation.
When the food was served, there was no introduction or description of the dishes, and her manner of placing the plates felt dismissive, almost as though they were being thrown onto the table—an act even more unappetizing than the food itself. I strongly advise against visiting this place
Huge fan of Huge Tree Pastry 🧋🍜🇹🇼
Amazing and very good prices. Big generous portions. We loved it and will come back during our stay.
Went for breakfast and loved the food- we tried many dishes and they were all delicious. We ate inside and didn’t mind paying cash. I was nervous because of recent one star reviews-but we only have positive things to say about this place and will definitely be back soon.
No frills Chinese and Taiwanese breakfast items. I love this place for a weekend breakfast with my mom. I think the food is delicious, particularly the hot sweet tofu, hot salty soybean milk, fan tuan with purple rice and pickles, and the bing. Notice I named soo many dishes--there are so many delicious options to choose from!
NOT RECOMMENDED. I’ve been a loyal customer here for years, but unfortunately, the quality has gone downhill. Over the past year, I’ve repeatedly experienced poor service, rude staff, and declining food quality. I don’t mind the cash-only policy, but the Fan Tuan has become incredibly disappointing—bland with minimal filling, a soggy Chinese donut, and noticeably smaller in size. Soy milk is water-down and lacks flavor. While inflation may be a factor, the price has also increased, making it even less worth it. After multiple disappointing visits, I’ve decided not to return. Overall, I would not recommended this place — there are better options elsewhere.
Horrible lady cashier bad attitudes and a very super disrespectful look. Trash here never come
Huge Tree Pastry: A Breakfast Adventure with a Side of Burned Tongue
After years of meaning to try Huge Tree Pastry, I finally made it—because nothing fuels motivation like the promise of carbs and nostalgia-packed Taiwanese breakfast staples. It’s a solid spot, no doubt, but if you’re expecting life-changing revelations between bites, you might want to lower those expectations just a notch.
Fan Tuan (feat. Purple Rice & Friends)
This was the star of my meal. The purple rice had that firmer, chewier bite, which made me feel like I was engaging in a workout while eating—always a plus. The pork sung and pickled veggies carried most of the flavor, while the youtiao added a delightful mix of crunch and fluff. Honestly, it was like a textural rollercoaster: chewy, soft, fluffy, and crunchy, all in one bite. 10/10 would eat again.
Sweet Soy Milk (aka My Own Worst Enemy)
I should’ve known better. I did know better. And yet, I took that first sip like an overconfident fool, only to immediately burn my tongue into oblivion. That’s on me. Temperature aside, the soy milk had a mild sweetness, creamy texture, and that signature “beany” essence—like drinking a warm hug from a soybean.
Baked Sesame Bread with Beef (A Tragic Tale)
This was where my meal took a turn. The bread? Hard and stale, as if it had seen better days (maybe even better decades). The beef filling? Almost non-existent. I wanted a savory, satisfying bite, but what I got instead was mostly jaw exercise. Easily my least favorite dish.
Final Verdict?
Would I go back? Definitely. There are plenty of other menu items I still need to try, and honestly, that fan tuan alone is worth a revisit. Plus, I now know to let my soy milk cool unless I want to lose another layer of taste buds. Lesson learned.

I have been to this place couple times and will continue. Authentic Taiwanese breakfast place. You don’t want to miss it. Purple rice burrito is a must to try. Everything tastes authentic and the staffs are friendly and chill.
It’s cash only and there is plenty of parking spot.
The cashier calculates the pricing whichever way he wants multiplying the total my 1.25 to automatically give himself a 25% tip. I noticed this when he forgot a pastry in my order but argued that I didn’t place the order. And he was re-doing the calculations for my order but was completely off
The cashier stole my money. Charged me for a pastry I never got and argued that I never ordered it….
Very rood service must use cash. Without cash the front desk just cancel my order and put eyes on others
Delicious food and great service
