Contrary to the complaints in the reviews, the service here was actually great. The owner was quick and efficient—when I didn’t have the exact change for the soybean milk, they just waived the small difference—and the rice balls were absolutely delicious!
As someone who has eaten authentic breakfasts in Taiwan, this spot is definitely comparable, if not even better. Their purple rice salty fan tuan and baked sesame bread (or shaobing) with egg are my absolute favorites! So flavorful and homemade, I feel like I am transported back to local breakfast shops in Taipei. The only complaint is that the service is really rude and the environment is a bit run-down. Otherwise, I will still be back for these two items and more!
I came here after being recommended by a co-worker. I already don’t remember what the food tasted like, which might be because it’s not that decent compared to what I have back in Asia. You might say this is LA, so how can you compare like that? But this is the truth.
