Ok food for Ok Cafe. Not extraordinarily good. My friend has been telling to go try this HK cafe. I thought I would give it try. Here is the load downs: The chow fen has ok taste like most of the other HK cafes in SGV. But it lacked the Wok Hei which is essential to good Chow Fen. Yang Zhou fried rice is also ok with a bit of salty taste. The BBQ pork in the fried rice had no flavor. As for the wonton noodle, which is a stable of HK cafe, was also just ok. The wonton didn't have a lot of shrimps and the noodle was saggy and it was hard for me to separate the noodle. The noodle had no texture, it was just a bundle of spaghetti egg noodles. Typically, the egg noodle comes with wonton should be al dente and elastic with a bit of chewy texture. The only good dish we had was the pan fried Gai Lan. It was green and crunchy that's perfectly cooked. Haven't tried the other dishes yet. I hope they are better than the fried rice and Chow Fen we had.
Quite expensive for the portion of the foods provided. But the foods are not bad itself
I tried the one in Taiwan it was pretty good. One thing that kinda throws me off is the awkward location of the waiting and restaurant, as it blocks the path from the mall to Nordstrom. Besides that, the food is pretty good, except for the fact that the dishes may be smaller than expected and a bit over priced.
My second visit at Nice Time Cafe. Unfortunately they ran out of soup dumplings today.
Great spot to have something when in a rush. The customer service is speedy, prices are reasonable, good character. Would recommend to others
Great food for the price!
With a group of 6, we got to try both western and Chinese food while we were there and we all were very satisfied. For myself, it was nice to be in a place that was both modern and still a bit "HKG style" at the same time.
My go to place for Taiwanese food
This place was the place to be whenever I traveled to the LA area. On my most recent visit, this place had changed a lot. There were not that people at this cafe anymore. As I order my meal, I found out why the hard way. The food is terrible. My dinner had a very distinctive taste to it. The beef was sour. This sourness was not due to vinegar being used, but rather the beef was spoiled. Thinking this must be a quality control issue, I did not touched my dinner again. I, then, ordered to go food, which was a big mistake too. The shrimp they used was rancid and spoiled. They tried to cover the smell and taste by adding a lot of spices on it. Stay away!
Decent food, fast service. Got food in less than 15 minutes. Dumplings are good, fried rice good, and chicken good
Restaurantji Recommends
Variety in food selection.
Quick service, good Taiwanese food. Love it
Love the food. Authentic Taiwanese at reasonable price.
Family favorite for authentic Taiwanese food! Very affordable and friendly staff!!
This is a very typical Hong Kong style restaurant. Environment and location are pretty good but may be hard to get parking over weekends during busy lunch and dinner time. Service is very disappointed. Food quality is okay but can be better. What I most disappointed: they lie/cheat the customers. On advertisements, they "offer" FREE Hong Kong style waffle but when you get there. Either the machine broke or it will take them FOREVER to bring it out to you. If they don't want to offer FREE waffle, don't put it in the advertisement or put a price tag on it.
