ordered popcorn chicken and was shocked to find several pieces completely undercooked — still pink and raw inside. The outside looked fine, but once I bit into it, it was obvious it wasn’t cooked through. That’s not just gross, it’s unsafe to eat.

I expect food to be cooked properly, especially when it comes to chicken — this could’ve made someone sick. Please train your kitchen staff better and check food before serving it. Definitely not ordering from here again until they fix this issue. And the food doesn’t look like chicken it seems to be squid and I didn’t get fries and got a fry into my what supposed to be popcorn chicken

The gentleman working the register was super rude and short. He didn't even greet us before in a rude tone saying to order on the kiosk (I was paying cash) he walked away and took a while to come back and was short when he did take our order which seemed to take longer than others along with the attitude to others ordering after being more attentive. When I called speak with someone about my experience after your response I was hung up on.

a tiny snack shop with pre-inflation prices. it feels like a street cart! :)

I wouldn't recommend the $3 milk tea, but the fries were perfect!

Best squid balls ever.

For the non Chinese people (white people like me that can’t handle their spice at all), you can ask them to remove the spice!

***They charge less for no spice***

This is my new favorite hang out spot for popcorn chicken. The prices are very very good and drinks are decent though. The drinks are very sweet so make sure to adjust the sugar levels. Everybody and their mamas out here so it does get very busy so be patient. They only have 2 workers.

Garage Milk Tea is a boutique-style café in the heart of Monterey Park. Nestled in between its sister shop, Garage Kitchen, and Noodle Art, Garage Milk Tea sells an array of drinks and some snacks.

I have been to Garage Milk Tea several times, and I always have had an excellent experience; however, my most recent experience left a sour taste in my mouth - both literally and figuratively.

Usually, I see two women or a guy with a muscular build working; however, on 8/28, there was a different guy who looked new because they kept on referencing the recipe on the wall. Not a problem. When we ordered our drinks, we got 4x Taro Min Min, an original boba milk tea, and an Uji Matcha with jelly.

After the taro min min's were made, the worker started on the uji matcha. However, mid-way through the drink, he told us that they ran out of uji matcha and asked us what we wanted to do. I asked if we could get something else instead, but the guy initially said that he could add additional milk or something into the drink. I mentioned that if the store didn't have uji matcha, the drink would be lacking a critical ingredient. I asked if it be possible to switch the drink for another one. He asked what he should do about the drink that was filled with milk in his hand and I asked if it would be possible to switch the drink entirely. He made an audible sigh, walked to the back of the store, and slammed the drink on the counter to our surprise. He then asked what we wanted instead. My cousin asked if he could get a Taro Min Min as well, but in the middle of ordering the adjustments, the worker said, "Yeah, yeah" and interrupted my cousin before he could finish.

We all looked at each other in disbelief since we understand "Chinese-service" rude where they're curt and direct to the point, but we weren't expecting blatantly rude service. After he finished with our drinks, we just left. However, we came to realize that our drinks weren't made well either. Even though we asked for less ice, the cup was initially filled around halfway or 3/4 of the way with ice. Also, the drinks tasted different from what I was used to when they were made by other employees and a few of our drinks didn't have toppings even though we paid for it either. At this point, we didn't want to interact with the guy any longer, so we just left.

Regrettably, I was disappointed because Garage Milk Tea is usually pretty good in service and in quality; however, that day was lacking on both ends. We all agreed that if we saw that guy working again, we would instantly just walk out of the store and go somewhere else.

Just got my boba and food here. The chicken is really good as well as the boba. The drink is not too sweet like other boba stores usually make it and the chicken is really tasty and tender and good for its price. Very affordable.

I really liked their popcorn chicken, good price for the portions. And they put a lot of basil leaves which I like.
