So the food here is great, I’ve been going here since I was a young boy, and even then my life was put in jeopardy when they were robbed at gunpoint, they took everything from everyone and well….last night my life was put in jeopardy again, I was at the local Laundromat next door, (for context: I need glasses and they are in the process of being made, 2 weeks blah blah blah), so I was using my flashlight to be sure I didn’t step in anything unpleasant, I was approached by the Security guard which he is in all his rights to do, I explained to him that I was at the laundromat and I was just getting some fresh air, well here is where things took a turn for the absolute worst, mind you Im a father of 3 so conflict is just not ever what Im looking for, but the Security guard tells me “I should go inside the Laundry” and I told him I can be on the sidewalk and thats all I would be doing , it gets hot next to all the dryers. He becomes Irate, starts to get loud and before I could make sense of the language barrier he was reaching for his gun. I of course ran away as any sensible person would, I hurt myself in the process and I called the cops, they cops said since he didn’t point the gun at me there was no crime, but I ask myself what is the line between life and death in a situation like this, this man is a loose cannon just waiting to take a life, I just hope things get resolved before he feels the need to feel big by taking anyones life, I understand being any form of authority is a sketchy job, but this was unnecessary and dangerous to the public health. I wasn’t looking into anyones vehicle or property and even after I explained I was at the laundry this man just kept escalating for no reason, I was calm talking to the man as there was no need to be enemies, I guess he saw things otherwise. Me and My Family will no longer be supporting this establishment as THERE IS NOT A SINGLE PIECE OF SASHIMI THAT IS WORTH YOUR LIFE!.
Special combo of 2 spicy tuna rolls, tempura(shrimp&veg), sashi tuna and aemono

Food tasted good but was overpriced for the amount that they served and the atmosphere was different in an okay. I had already paid and felt this place was worth returning to again in the future but as I was walking out the lady working as a server made a scene and came out demanding a tip she wasn't even the waiter at my table. I did tip $10. That spoiled my evening, never going back.

Dinner with a friend and it was delicious! He’s a big fan of the tuna sashimi. I personally loved the salmon. Everything was well prepared. Japanese sushi chefs and the real deal. I used to live in Japan, so I appreciate authentically prepared sashimi. You’ll find that here.
Genuine taste of Japan! Excellent service! Highly recommend!

Taihei is a legendary neighborhood Japanese restaurant, serving locals / the real ones for decades.
Their lunch specials looked phenomenal, but even their dinner menu serves up serious value. I got the 3-item combo dinner (starts at $27, with each special item $1 more). Standout items include tonkatsu (crispy, perfectly cooked) and beef teriyaki. The salmon sashimi was generously portioned, and I’d order the teriyaki beef with no sauce next time (quite sweet). But the miso soup was fuego and I loved the small touches on the bento - orange slice, potato salad, and edamame!!
I will 100% come back, and soon.

The servers were great and very friendly. We parked on the street nearby and had about a 5 minute wait to get a table although we could have sat at the sushi bar without waiting. The 20 piece sashimi platter was so fresh and delicious, as was the sushi which was ordered a la carte. Would highly recommend!
Great little old-school restaurant. Nothing too fancy, just like their long term customers prefer it. No fusion, no boba, just solid quality food at a reasonable price.
Very good food and service. Will be back.
Hidden sushi gem. It's small, the fish is fresh and well priced. Service was friendly considering they were packed on a Friday night. Our table ordered sashimi, tempura shrimp, rainbow, and eel cucumber rolls with tempura as an appetizer. Great local spot that's family ran since the 80's, can't wait to return!
The food here was delicious, and the quality of the uni was excellent. The portions were generous as well. The only downside was the beef in the beef udon — it was a bit tough and hard to chew.
