Worlds best pastrami. Can't beat the pastrami chilli cheese fries. Best pastrami I've ever had. All the other pastrami spots, their pastrami is too thick. If you like it nice and thin sliced, this spot is the way to go.

Ok so came here for the first time and had the famous pastrami dip and the chili cheese fries, at first I thought the Chili Cheese fries were a bit to expensive at $10usd but holy cow! The portion is huge, that’s enough for four or five people to side with their sandwiches and although as you can see in the photo they have a tremendous look they were a bit too bland, you can see how they’re bringing the fries fresh out of the frier in front of you but I’m not sure if they add salt to them cause they sure didn’t taste salty at all and the chili was more like a homemade canned chili, the sandwich was ok, good portion, nice taste of the Au Jus but I wish the bread was toasted or at least steamed since I didn’t finished it because I was full I took half of the sandwich home and a few hours later I put it on the microwave for 30 seconds and surprise! It was much better! Haha anyways, this is a good spot for classic old school LA Pastrami food but I don’t think it would be my first choice for eating out

Went to get something to eat for my husband to take to work. I got his favorite, a chili tamale with cheese and onions and small fries. Upon getting home he was waiting for his food in order to leave and about less than 7 minutes later he called me to complain his fries tasted old and lukewarm. I ordered this at 1:46 pm. Waited about 10 minutes for my order and mind you we live about 6 minutes by the 60 fwy. In East Los Angeles so the fries shouldnt have tasted as if they were under the heating lamp for hours. I don't complain cause they really dont care to offer a solution to your problem so my advice to anyone who decides to go here for some food. Taste your food before leaving and buy with a credit or debit card. At lesst using that method you can dispute and get your money back. Grest food but hit or miss at times.
Best Pastrami sandwich in town! The cheese burger with pastrami ain't bad either. Watch out for the chili cheese fries with pastrami, once you start eating them you can't stop. Been going here for 25 years, the great taste has not changed.

I stopped at the Hat in Monterey Park and was a bit surprised that they do not put the same amount of pastrami that Alhambra and Marietta puts, they actually measure the amount that goes on to the bread and believe me, Itds very little, don't plan of ever stopping there again
