Such tender and juicy chicken with crispy breading done just right. The to-go box had a nice personal touch, a thank you with my name, a perfect example of the care and love that they put into everything.

My friend and I ordered the mixed family pack, which came with 6 drumsticks and 6 tenders, both of which were super juicy and flavorful. My only complaint was that the skin was a bit too crispy. The family pack also came with rice, pickled cabbage, and 2 sides. We got the curry creamed corn and potato salad and both were delicious. We also got a pitcher of the Asahi lychee cocktail. The first sip was good, but there was way too much lychee syrup in it.There were only 5 tables inside when I was there, so you’re probably going to have wait a bit. This place is super popular. We waited for about half an hour and there were a lot of people waiting for their takeout orders too.

Outstanding chicken strips and chicken drumsticks. The batter is delicious and has just enough spices. Strips are nice, well proportioned, and perfectly fried. Waiting for a table can be dexterous at times but worth the wait.

Okay. Fantastic! It was my first time, but my husband has been there many time since years ago. And he said it was MUCH better than he remembered! I thought it was great! Love the flavor combination between the delicious crispy chicken and all the sides. Craving again already

this is solid good fried chicken if you want something a bit different from korean fried chicken. the sauces are what elevates it, really. i always need to get several of the tokyo mayo. it's a sweet, gingery, creamy yuzu dipping sauce and i want to pour it over everything - and often will. we had no wait thursday afternoon. also, they were attentive and when my partner forgot his phone here, the staff came out running with it. strong recommend.

Great as ever! I've had a lot of fried chicken over the years, I can proudly say that Tokyo Fried Chicken is the undisputed king of fried chicken. The chicken was moist and succulent, cooked to perfection and I am absolutely in love with the chicken tenders. They're so crispy and full of flavors! They have a variety of sauces for you to choose from. Spicy Ponzu was definitely my favorite! Also do yourself a favor and get the Pickled Cabbage fully loaded. Their Curry Creamed Corn and Chicken Rice are good too. The restaurant might be a little packed in the evening but the turnover is pretty quick. Highly recommend.

Definitely one of those hole in the wall places but like many others once you're in you understand. We got the family plate with the truffle edamame. The family plan came with a large rice, 2 sides, cabbage pickled, and a total of 12 pieces of chicken. Collectively it racked to about to about 70 dollars. The chicken was crisp and juicy. The wait time is pretty short. Their food is fresh and really good but as mentioned it is a bit pricey. Venue is pretty small so there's not a lot of wiggle room but the food was delicious. Service was fine I mean it's pretty small so our drinks were always filled and our waitress was consistent on checking in on us.

This is my first time trying this place. I had a potluck to go to and I wanted to bring fried chicken so I decided to order from here based on the recommendation of a friend. I ordered the 1/2 dozen tenders and 1 dozen mixed. I don't know why they don't offer the 1/2 dozen drums. They have a variety of sauces including sweet ponzu, spicy ponzu, spicy Mayo and yuzu pepper. I ended up paying an extra $11 in extra sauces which seemed a bit pricey. The drumsticks and tenders are quite large. I ended up cutting the tenders in half which made it easier to share. Unfortunately, it is not so simple to cut the drumsticks in smaller pieces. I would recommend getting the tenders rather than the drums unless you really like drumsticks. Everyone at the party enjoyed the chicken. I would say the chicken was good, but overall I thought the price point was on the higher side.

Disclaimer--this review is regarding their service rather than their food. Food was good, everything tasted fine. Curry corn was "meh" though (we had a lot of it, see review below). You can refer to pretty much the other 1800+ reviews that go into detail about their food. This was our first time going to (what we felt was) a highly anticipated restaurant but unfortunately, their service fell short. We ordered a pickup order online at 7pm on a Saturday night. The website told us that our food would be ready in about 25 mins, so we showed up around that time and they told us they were still waiting for a few things till our order was ready. We waited another 20 mins there only to be told that they were out of the rice at the moment. We were confused as to 1) why we waited that long if they were probably out of it in the first place and 2) how they could be out of that when that's literally an item that is included with all of the meals--Out of all things that they could be out of, they're out of rice?! Sad. They told us we could pick another side to substitute so we just ended up with a lot curry corn, which is not really what we wanted but oh well. Once we got in the car, we realized that we were missing something in our order so we called right away and they refunded us. Then when we got home and looked in the chicken bucket, we didn't get our mixed order of chicken like we ordered. We called again to let them know of that error and they said they would refund our chicken bucket order. I guess it worked out for us in the end, but in general, the service was pretty disappointing. Maybe there was something going on that day in the kitchen but it didn't look super busy and they just didn't get our order right which was a bummer. Hopefully it's not something that happens often; maybe it was just a bad night for the crew. We live about 45 mins away from here so it's hard to say whether we'll make the drive out to this restaurant again.

My girlfriend found this place as we were out and about and looking for a place to get food. Last when we were there, they hadn't opened up their location to any indoor dining, and all orders were to-go. I am unsure whether that has changed or not. I enjoyed the food. It's a bit on the pricey side, but it's arguably among the best tasting non-chain fried chicken you'll find in SGV. Parking: Plenty. This is one of only a few businesses in this plaza that attract customers, and some units are not currently occupied. We'll see what happens when they build at the corner by the intersection.

My favorite thing about Tokyo Fried Chicken is definitely their sweet spicy ponzu sauce that pairs perfectly with their fried chicken! I love their sauce so much, I ordered a bottle of their spicy sweet ponzu sauce for $10. Their chicken doesn't seem to be as good as it was before Covid. They now have tenders instead of chicken wings and they've taken out several sides I used to love such as their Mac n cheese, Shishito peppers, and roasted Brussel sprouts. Their indoor dining seems to be very limited but luckily their online ordering system is very easy to navigate on their website. We placed an online order for their Buddy pack which came with a 6pc bucket, medium chicken rice, ginger pickled cabbage, 2 small sides, and 2 sauces. We chose the mixed option of 3 drums 3 tenders and the sides of curry cream corn and soy glazed yams and we also ordered their Yuzu lemonade. The tenders and drums are very hefty and taste excellent with the sweet ponzu sauce. The skin wasn't as crispy as I'd liked but this was a takeout order so it wasn't too surprising. The Yuzu lemonade was very refreshing and was a great drink to cool down from the spice of their spicy ponzu sauce. The curry creamer corn and soy glazed yams were both really good, but I definitely miss their Mac n cheese. Overall, Tokyo fried chicken serves great fried chicken that tastes great with their ponzu sauce. I do think the quality of the chicken has gone down from before Covid, but I did like that the tenders were much easier to eat. The menu is smaller than before, but i would still recommend this spot for their fried chicken with ponzu sauce.

Finally tried this place! I get the hype! We ordered the 12 pc meal and added on mac and cheese. The other sides we got were bbq beans, curry corn, yams, and mashed potatoes. The total came out to be around $70, which is pretty steep, but the food speaks for itself. Their fried chicken is unlike anything I've had. It's light and crispy, and their seasoning is magical. The best sides were the bbq beans and the mac and cheese. The cheese used is pretty strong, so I would only order if you love strong cheeses. The meal also comes with chicken rice and pickled veggies, both of them really good. Yay for a unique take on fried chicken!

Every aspect of the meal was outstanding and unique. Chicken entree which is wisely served in a bucket for family dining has its own unique taste making this a destination restaurant. Ordered a variety of sides rice, potato salad, fried skins, cabbage and sides of ponzu and Mayo all complimented each other. Only drawback, dining room is very limited to accommodate take out orders so plan ahead.

Heard good things about tokyo fried chicken so decided to stop by here with a couple of friends. I'd have to say, its not the best when the sides outside the main dish. Their sides were very good, especially their potato and their bean side. The curry corn just literally tasted like its name, instant japanese curry + corn. The chicken was crispy, but seemed too oily for me to the point I couldn't have more than 2 pieces.
