Had the beef dip. Beef was very, very dry. Even with the dip is was dry and boring. Chile rellano was a 5 out of 10. Cold slaw was excellent.

NEVER AGAIN ORDERED CLUB SANDWICH, TURKEY MEAT IS LIKE SYNTHETIC SPONGE.... BETTER LET CUSTOMER KNOW ABOUT THAT AWFUL TURKEY IMITATION.

Came home from work not feeling well and wanting soup and Tommy's Restaurant (next to the Hat) saved the day! I got the albondigas and hubs got cocido. It hit the spot and we have leftovers for tomorrow. Generous portions of protein ans delicious. Rice was yummy too but the kid will inhale that lol. Also came with tortillas but those will turn into quesadillas tomorrow 🙌🏼. Both the green and red salsa are excellent. Hubby was working on the red so not pictured. I always get my menudo from them too. Super nice and friendly staff..

This place has been around for years. Haven’t been here in years. Came with my madre for brunch. They did some remodeling but it’s still the same place my grandparents would take me to. A classic but oldie. Food is good and portions are big

I had the chile relleno and shredded beef taco. Authentic socal mexican food. My son had a chorizo burrito that was also delicious. The staff was friendly and welcoming

It is one of my favorite restaurants to have a meal by myself while in between appointments. Delicious food and portions are more than average! Must try.

We actually stopped by to go to the Hat next door I walked over because Tommy’s showed a 4.3* rating . Oh my gosh I ordered a large bowl of Menudo to go I wasn’t expecting all the condiments and tortillas but wowzerez absolutely delicious I’m going to make it a point that The next time I drive to San Diego to visit my daughter I’m going to swing by this place and pick up some Menudo along the way. What a great find
