Today my girlfriend and I tried We Be Q'n for the first time. We were greeted by the owner and his brother, both of which were helpful, patient, and overall a good vibe. We ordered the pork ribs with Mac n cheese and baked beans, along with a Big Mouth Burger with brisket. The pork ribs were extremely flavorful and the sauce was great too. The Mac n cheese and baked beans were also perfect. The burger is as it's name elicits: really big. However, it was still packed with flavor and you're for sure getting your money's worth on it. We look forward to our next visit!

I just finished my first take-out experience here. It is absolutely and without doubt the finest barbecue available anywhere I could imagine in southern california. After a long day of teaching I was hankering for something and I see that Gus's Barbecue in South Pasadena for some reason does not have ribs anymore which is strange. So I did a Google Search and found this tremendous hole in the wall which is owned by the Fantastic Chef Champion, who is himself an incredible gentleman , a gracious man , and a wonderful host. The ribs fall off the bone and the greens are absolutely authentic and the beans are joy and this was simply one of the greatest dinners I ever took home in any takeout in Los angeles.I can't say enough about the quality of the food and the pleasure of the experience of picking up takeout and of the wonderful welcoming Vibe created by Chef Champion himself. The place is a hole in the wall in a neighborhood where you might not expect high quality world-class barbecue, lots of nail salons and other offices sort of tucked behind a conventional shopping mall in Monterey park, but this is the real deal and I intend to order from them regularly and enjoy what is absolutely some of the best food I ever got in Los angeles.

I have wanted to try their food but every time I've gone to this place, they're closed. The location is in crowded plaza and parking is scarce. Very inconvenient when you go, find parking and walk over to find this place closed. And when you call, their phone just rings. At least place a note on your door that you're out of business or something. Add a voicemail greeting with current status of business.

It’s a local bbq joint with good food, a small tight menu, and the price is reasonable. Ordered bbq ribs, mac and cheese, and mixed greens. Plus they have house made deserts, i picked up the banana pudding. I will come back again when i crave bbq and I don't have time to bbq food myself!

I wanted to give this place a review because I was very satisfied and impressed with the food. The only reason im not giving the 5 stars is because the customer service didn't match the delicious food. It's memorial weekend and I was in the mood for bbq which we don't have many locally. We be q'n came up and it was very close so I decided to give it a try. The combo came with 4 ribs and two sides. I tried the Mac & cheese and potato salad both delious homemade style and the meat came right off the bone. The bbq had a nice kick! Would consider them to cater my next event/party.

My partner and I ordered two platters; the Chicken & Links and Ribs & Chicken, and everything came out bomb. The chicken was perfectly charred and juicy, the hot link had the right level of heat (not too hot nor too mild), and the ribs fell right off the bone. Would defffinitely stop by here again.

Great food. First time trying this hidden gem. mos def ill be back for more. I had 3 meat combo plate with 2 sides for under 20 bucks.. yams and potatoe salad were on point. Brisket was super juicy and soft!! Rib tips were a bit fatty but over all this place is legit.

I went for the first time to this place today and it was so yummy! The owner was pleasant as he handed food to me. I look forward to trying everything on the menu.

I got the pulled pork hoagie sandwich with vinegar sauce and coleslaw, and my girl got "The Bandit" with smoked Brisket, fried shrimp, and barbecue sauce. Really damn good, really fair priced. Amazing hole in the wall for real BBQ stashed away in Monterey Park. Located in a plaza with plenty of parking, too. They do catering as well, so check them out for all your party and gathering needs.

I am a little disappointed with my lunch at this place. I saw the great reviews and convinced him to go with me. The big mouth burger ($12.50): thick, very peppery, meat. The patty was too soft for me. The portion was very small for the price IMO. Mac and cheese: I liked it more than the burger itself. Not sure if the guy was in the bad mood, but he didn't talk to us until we placed our order and he seemed a little upset. Another lady came into the restaurant and she was actually nice and said hi to us. 3 stars!! We Be Q'n is almost yummylicious!

The food is always top notch. Great BBQ, but my favorites are the Big Mouth burger and Hog Hoggie sandwich. The burger is huge and as good as you'll find anywhere (I order it topped with brisket). Chef Doug shares the space with a caterer, and the hours are not consistent as a result, but if you can catch him open, it's the best BBQ in the area!

Need a quick bite after picking up some dry cleaning nearby. Wanted something light and also had too many sandwiches recently, gave the gumbo a try. Wow, very pleasantly surprised! The roux was very flavorful and there's a satisfying amount of ingredients (sausage, shrimp and chicken wings?!) in it. The photo does not do it justice for rice covered up most of the goodies. I normally prefer a darker roux but this warm and hearty bowl does really hits the spot. I'll definitely come back to try out their Qs next time.
