Had a wonderful dinner here. the mushroom tacos were absolutely amazing, and the shrimp were just as great. The atmosphere was very nice, cozy, and felt pleasantly private, making it a perfect spot for a relaxed evening

I recommend making a reservation or you will be limited to bar or outside seating if busy. We were still able to get seated outdoors as there are heaters in winter. Portions are large, ordered pollo asado and the tampiquena. Food was delicious and drinks were well made.

Any future trip of ours to Monterey will include a dinner at Alejandros. It was a great menu with unique options. You must try the Molle Trio!

Great service, ok food. If you have an Amex platinum, great local Monterey bay place to use up the $100 resy credit.
Otherwise I’d just come in for drinks.

Very disappointed in food taste-wise. Not much variety. We had to sit in the lobby by the front door, or the said st long communal table down the middle. When we left there were a whole bunch of empty booths on the side, won't be back.

reservations are absolute must because of how small and busy it was for a saturday night.
the molcajete surprisingly was large enough to share between 3 people and comes with 6 blue corn tortillas. the best part are the sauces which includes a super fiery habanero. we ordered the chips and guacamole thinking it would come out first but had to remind them about our order when the molcajete was brought to the table.
currently on the list for resy and honestly the only reason we dined was the use the amex credits. otherwise, overpriced for mediocre food and service.

A little disappointed on the flavor part and layout.
Upon entering it is a cute place. We were seated at a booth in the front room however which is not intimate at all.
The area behind the hostess looked a lot more inviting and initmate howevee they were unable to accommodate once we requested to switch seats.
We started with the chips and guacamole which was honestly the best part. We split the carne asada and chicken enchiladas. Both good dishes however lacking in flavor completely on the chicken enchiladas. The carne asada was not bad though I did like that one.
I loved the curros for dessert however my boyfriend did not enjoy them the same since they were on the softer end.
Drinks were on the stronger end but still good.

Good service. Food presentation was great but flavor was really lacking. Ordered the ceviche, mole enchiladas and shrimp. The Ceviche had too much sesame oil in it which overpowered the ahi tuna and mango. The mole lacked depth and the chicken inside was dry and not flavorful. The shrimp was on a plain bed of rice and could’ve used a sauce. We ended up not finishing even though we were hungry, paid the bill and politely left within a few minutes of receiving our meal.

Alejandros is a must-return gem.
Let me explain...
We first discovered Alejandro's a few months ago, thanks to a fantastic recommendation from a local (we're East Coasters!), and when we had the chance to return to MRY this week, coming back was a must. Our second dinner was just as lovely and memorable as the first, with every aspect—ambiance, food, and service—being truly noteworthy.
The kitchen at Alejandro's is clearly run by passionate chefs. Everything we ordered was bursting with flavor and made with evident care. We started with the unique and delightful spiked Horchata, a refreshing twist on a classic. For our main courses, the Pollo Asado was perfectly tender with hints of ginger and lemon, while the pork dish was seasoned beautifully and extremely satisfying. Even the sides shone: the corn was incredibly fresh and sweet, and the taquitos were crisp and savory. The salmon was also a standout—expertly cooked and beautifully plated.
The atmosphere at Alejandro's strikes a perfect balance—it's warm, inviting, and vibrant without being too loud or overwhelming. The setting provided a wonderful backdrop for a relaxing dinner. An added bonus that enhanced our visit was the farmers market happening right outside before and after our meal; it brought a fantastic local energy and made the entire experience feel like a true community event.
The service was impeccable. Our server, Oscar, deserves special recognition. He was incredibly attentive, professional, and genuinely friendly, making us feel well-cared for throughout the evening. He navigated the meal expertly, adding a personal touch that truly elevated our experience.
Kudos to the entire team, the amazing chefs, and especially Oscar! If you are in MRY, make Alejandro's your dinner destination.
