“Our visit to Stoke's Adobe last weekend produced the best meal I've had on The Peninsula in a decade! Restauranteur, Sarah Orr, has hit one out of the park. The dishes prepared by Executive Chef, Bryce Hansen, were flawless, my favorties being the seared scallops and truffle chicken. Loved the nod to former occupant and socialite, Hattie Gragg, with the inclusion of the Hattie's Old Fashioned on the cocktail menu :) Looking forward to our next visit and an opportunity to sample other items on their ever evolving menu.”

“This was the best restaurant I never ate in. Lemme explain. My superwonderul-one-in-a-million friend is in Monterey visiting her sister and bro-in-law there. (Actually they live in Chico, CA but they drove down to Monterey for the weekend.) So, says I, "Why not try Sardine Factory? (I live in Albuquerque, but hey, Diana is my superwonderul-one-in-a-million friend...oops, I already said that... and she is in CA, visiting from Albuquerque). So I called Sardine Factory and spoke to Mary and she took my credit card number and the rest is history. THANK YOU MARY! Diana, my friend, said it was a "10." "Staff was fantatic."in the Conservatory. "The waiter tied a bib" on her. The best meal I ever had... from 1,00 miles away. Mary, you are the sweetest person in the world! But Diana loved it, and that what matters the most. Oh, she had cioppino (see photo) and her sister had "delicious" seafood pasta and her bro in law had sea bass ("very good"). So Mary, and Sardine Factory, you made people very happy this evening. But that is what you do. God bless.”

We actually ordered another one from another bakery as insurance and Parker Lusseau’s was the top taste favorite by all of us. “I first visited this amazing local deli in 1989-1990. I remembered the half loaves of bread stacked high with a pile of my choice of meats and cheeses. Although I was only 18-19, Compagno’s established my standard for an amazing sandwich. 32 years later I brought my sons here for lunch. Same delicious goodness a generation later.”

“Ordered 3 sushi rolls and the chicken teriyaki entree. Food was definitely delicious and thoroughly enjoyed it. Service can be significantly improved!! Each time we had to call the server to our table if we needed something. Made it a challenge to add more meals to the order if desired.

“Great staff, it’s always clean, and they make amazing sandwiches. This place tends to get real busy at lunch time; I recommend calling ahead. You you also have a choice of delicious breads, and you can customize your sandwich if you wish! The staff is always courteous, and quick. Their egg salad sandwich is really delicious, you just have to try it!”

“I had done a search for the best clam chowder in Monterey and they are at the top of almost every list, and they were right! I got the clam chowder in the garlic sourdough bowl I highly recommend them! My wife, Michele got risotto with caramelized onions, shrimp and sole. We had a view of Monterey Bay and some sea lions playing. Our server, Giovanny, was phenomenal! He brought Michele a piece of complimentary cheesecake and a rose for her birthday. 🌹 I had the chocolate creme brûlée. Great start to our mini-vacay in Monterey!”

“I’ve been to Global Cruising four times now, and every visit has been great. The food is delicious, the service is always friendly, and the atmosphere is really nice. Consistently a great experience every time. Definitely one of my favorite spots, and I highly recommend it! 🔥🤝”

“This place was magical from the second we walked through the turquoise-colored door with its old fashioned door knob. We had no reservation & we were coming from Fieldwork brewing (so my hubby really needed to eat). They had no spots available (reservations are nearly necessary here on Fri. & Sat. they informed us later). However, they promptly set up backyard heater & provided blankets for our quickly provided outdoor seating. We ordered 2 shots of mezcal (cause we were outside & it was kinda cold), which the manager informed us they only served the best ;) They sent out it a waitperson who informed us “I’ll be taking care of you tonight.” Which turned out to be true from the service to dinner/dessert recommendations, and packing up our leftover beans to take home. Eventually, they moved us inside because of a cancelation. And I haven’t even started on the carefully crafted cocktails & food. So meticulously crafted, and presented. I rarely favor restaurant food over my own cooking ability, but I can confidently say their food is way better than my own lol. Again, everything was beautiful, perfect, & delicious! Also, I’m thinking the line for coffee & morning eats at their sister bakery Alta can attest to amazing, soon to be Monterey culinary fixture. Thank you for the memorable night & dinner Cella! “The seasoning on the chicken wings was absolutely incredible—crispy, perfectly balanced, and bursting with flavor. Every bite was delicious. The fries were excellent as well, and the homemade spicy BBQ sauce took everything to another level. The classic American atmosphere made the whole experience even more authentic. “—->> IMPORTANT: read the whole review. The hotel is in a weird part of the neighborhood that made me think there might be some seedy businesses nearby, the small parking lot behind the building is accessed by an extremely narrow alleyway and I was afraid I might have trouble turning the car around, and the rooms are small. —- BUT —- The hotel has tons of charm and they work hard to make your stay memorable. Our room was thoughtfully appointed with hardwood flooring and a heated tile bathroom, supportive pillows, an electric fireplace, a wireless charger, a jetted tub, and Charmin toilet paper! The window opened out to a small hint of a balcony. As we were coming and going throughout our stay I was touched to see the cleaning staff spend so much time cleaning just one room, and even at one out I saw one of them polishing the baseboards. The breakfast was delicious, with freshly baked popovers hot out of the oven accompanied by butter and homemade jam. The lemon ricotta pancakes were very good — I had no idea lemon could taste fragrant and floral without being sour. The polenta was buttery and delicious. We got to meet the owner Nick, who was very nice. Tony checked us in and served us breakfast with a smile every morning.”

The half chicken and the pork chop, the honey nut squash were rated a 4/5. The fish was a small portion. The view was spectacular and the sunset was perfect.”

We're returning to the U.S. after many years overseas.”

Can't use my AARP card, can't make changes to orders that change the cost, the full menu is not available, and I have 36 characters for any special instructions. Seriously you can do better. Why do I need to fill all this information out on this form when I'm logged in and you have this info already? In a busy staff at the restaurant have to constantly answer the phone because of all the shortcomings with your website and application. I spend a LOT of money at Denny's and the feedback form on your application doesn't work”

“We had a good experience at this Jack in the Box.

The food was served hot and fresh. We placed our order through the mobile app to save time, and while there was still a short wait, it was reasonable.

The staff were polite, and the parking lot appeared to be clean and well maintained during our visit.

Overall, it was a solid stop for a quick meal and everything met our expectations.”

“We were visiting from the San Francisco Bay Area and decided to give La Bahia a try—and we’re so glad we did! We ordered the mahi mahi fish taco, the shrimp taco, and the surf & turf burrito. Everything was cooked to perfection. The shrimp were incredibly juicy and flavorful, the fish was fresh, and the burrito was packed with delicious ingredients and generous portions. You can tell they put care into their food. The staff was friendly, and the overall experience was fantastic. We’ll definitely be stopping by again the next time we’re in Monterey!”

“We have been going to Heirloom Pizza a few times a year for a while now and have always enjoyed great food and good service. This was until last night. The food was still delicious and the server was good. That was the limit of a good experience. The hostess had a look that we were bothering her by wanting to eat there. We arrived about 7pm and they were busy, but it only took about 10 minutes to be seated. We ordered fairly quickly and then waited for over 50 minutes to have an appetizer to reach our table and another 25 minutes for our main dish. By the time we received our appetizer the restaurant had only 5-6 tables with people still sitting. We understand that it takes a little longer for a deep dish pizza, but well over an hour in unacceptable. In the 50 minutes we saw no less than a dozen or so orders go out the door for pickup orders. I understand they sell pizza and there is likely a large amount of business that doesn't come an stay to eat, but we felt forgotten. If we choose to go back, maybe we should order before arriving.”

“My daughter and I found this Hidden Gem in Monterey we went there for breakfast before a doctor's appointment and I had their country omelette which was absolutely delicious and it was pretty big it was a perfect serving and with hash browns their hash browns are amazing and crunchy and perfect except for me they could have put a little bit more hash browns on my plate those were so good and they had I had toast on wheat bread it was delicious then I ordered a waffle for me and my daughter to share had blueberries blackberries strawberries whipped cream on it oh my God absolutely amazing and she ordered a Mexican omelette with country fried potatoes avocado toast absolutely perfect you must try this place don't pass it up it's the Hidden Gem right on the corner of Lighthouse Avenue must try and the service was excellent the owner's son he was very friendly very sweet service is great coffee was great tea was great we will be going back for sure try something new!!!”

“This place is pretty different from most of the other restaurants on Alvarado for all the right reasons. First of all, the place is very small in a good way. It has a weirdly cozy atmosphere in the same way that a understairs room does. The menu is small, but all of it was good. The kalbi was the standout to me, but the spicy chicken and pork were also great. The service was excellent; it was just one lady running the front of house and it's apparent she wants all customers to enjoy their time there. The prices were the main drawback; our bill came out to around $120 for 3 of us.”

“Our first visit to Lalla Grill Del Monte and it was fabulous! The food was delicious. Our waiter Tino was friendly, professional, and on top of everything. Later we went to the bar. It was fully stocked and the bartender, Rae, was the bomb! Worth a visit if you are in the area! Highly recommend.”

“We went to Mountain Mike's on the recommendation of one of my coworkers, and I'm very happy we did. The staff were very friendly and were very patient as we considered all of our options. We decided to split a large Everest with no mushrooms, and it was fantastic. The employee also offered to substitute the mushrooms for another topping, instead of just removing them, which I've never had a pizza place do. We went on a Tuesday, and there was a deal on a large specialty pizza that brought our total with 2 soft drinks to just $30. The dining room was clean, and the booths were spacious. The standout aspect of this place is how fresh everything tasted. I'm not sure how ordering delivery would affect the experience, but eating it fresh was delicious. There aren't any Mountain Mike's where we are visiting from, but whenever we visit, it'll definitely be one of our stops for an easy lunch or dinner.”

“My wife and I are staying just down the road for the weekend and stumbled in for breakfast the place felt just like my grandma's house growing up my grandmother loved flamingos and here there are owls 🦉 every where made it feel even more life home staff was so welcoming and had the biggest smiles 😃 blessed.. Coffee was hot and the blueberry pancake combos we both ordered were amazing fluffy and made with an ingredient not found in most main stream food (Love) bacon and eggs perfect price and portions are good. Will be going back tomorrow before we leave town and make sure when we come back next year that this will be our go to place.”

“Ya gotta go to the Trident Room at the Hotel Del Monte on the Naval Post Graduate School campus/grounds. The building is old and simply amazing. Check out the huge ballroom before going down stairs to the bar at the Trident Room. When we went inside for drinks and appetizers on a Saturday night during Car Week in Monterey County, we were greeted by several bar keeps, waiter/servers and such. All three guys and the lady working the bar/tables were beyond polite, courtesy, spirited and had their acts together. It really seemed as though they were happy to be there and enjoyed their jobs. We had some great Manhattans and good wings and tomato soup. You must check out the history on this place and this room. I bet lots of sea stories and war stories have been discussed here. A worthwhile stop here indeed.”

“My husband and I spent several days last week visiting the Monterey Bay area and had several people recommend Lalla Grill Oceanside as a great place to dine. They were so right ... the food, the service, and the atmosphere were all top notch! Our server, Serena, was an absolutely delightful young lady and helped us order a selection of foods that were all amazing! The floor-to-ceiling windows overlooking the water offered spectacular views. Next time we visit the area, there will definitely be a return trip to Lalla Grill!”

“Layers Bakery is wonderful!! Hilary went above and beyond for my daughters wedding cake. She was professional and so courteous especially due to the fact that I ordered thos cake about a week before my daughter's wedding! I came in from out of town and was late getting flowers to the bakery to add to my daughter's cake. Hillary was flexible and went out of her way to help me! “I absolutely love Happy Dragon Family Restaurant in Monterey! Their Moo Goo Gai Pan is one of my go-to dishes, fresh, flavorful, and perfectly cooked every time. The fried rice is also fantastic and pairs so well with everything on the menu. Honestly, everything I’ve tried has been consistently delicious, served hot, and clearly made with care. You can really taste the quality. What makes the experience even better is the family who owns and runs the restaurant. They are always so kind, welcoming, and fun, it truly feels like you’re part of their extended family when you walk in. Great food, great people, and a place I’ll keep coming back to! "Staff was fantatic."in the Conservatory. "The waiter tied a bib" on her. The best meal I ever had... from 1,00 miles away. Mary, you are the sweetest person in the world! But Diana loved it, and that what matters the most. Oh, she had cioppino (see photo) and her sister had "delicious" seafood pasta and her bro in law had sea bass ("very good"). “I came to Nicos and the flavors were really good!!! They blend frozen berries into vanilla ice cream with the machine in the picture which is really unique! I deducted one star because they didn't clean the machine between uses or use a different machine for each type of berry so there was a bit of flavor mixing and a little scary if someone has allergies but they were also really busy so I don't know if that's normal. Overall it was super good and I would come back!”

“I got tofu bahn mi here the first time for take out. I loved it a lot! It’s affordable and the fillings are so generously added, you get tofu in every bite! We kept ordering the bahn mi from here all the time we were here, and then decided to try other dishes. Their garlic noodles are sooo amazing! And their chilli sauces are also very tasty. The hostess even remembered us, and was so kind! Do give this restaurant a try!”

Service: they are quick, but might as well have self checkout with those huge lines

My family decided to stop by and get their Cheesy Dog Bites and their Cin-A-Bitz. I think the Cheesy Dog Bites are new and they were absolutely delicious! The Cin-A-Bitz also came out piping hot and very buttery!

The place was packed but for good reasons! It was cold outside so I’m sure everyone just wants something hot to snack on.

Highly recommend to get these items. I would return if I’m in the area again.”
