So I called Sardine Factory and spoke to Mary and she took my credit card number and the rest is history. THANK YOU MARY! Diana, my friend, said it was a "10." "Staff was fantatic."in the Conservatory. "The waiter tied a bib" on her. The best meal I ever had... from 1,00 miles away. Mary, you are the sweetest person in the world! But Diana loved it, and that what matters the most. Oh, she had cioppino (see photo) and her sister had "delicious" seafood pasta and her bro in law had sea bass ("very good"). So Mary, and Sardine Factory, you made people very happy this evening. But that is what you do. God bless.”

“Our visit to Stoke's Adobe last weekend produced the best meal I've had on The Peninsula in a decade! Restauranteur, Sarah Orr, has hit one out of the park. The dishes prepared by Executive Chef, Bryce Hansen, were flawless, my favorties being the seared scallops and truffle chicken. Loved the nod to former occupant and socialite, Hattie Gragg, with the inclusion of the Hattie's Old Fashioned on the cocktail menu :) Looking forward to our next visit and an opportunity to sample other items on their ever evolving menu.”

“I first visited this amazing local deli in 1989-1990. I remembered the half loaves of bread stacked high with a pile of my choice of meats and cheeses. Although I was only 18-19, Compagno’s established my standard for an amazing sandwich. 32 years later I brought my sons here for lunch. Same delicious goodness a generation later.”
“I came here very hungry and lefy quite satisfied. The owner was very personable, friendly and helpful in choosing from among the many delicious options. I chose a combo plate because i want them all. The chicken was amazing and the gyro was flavorful. The outdoor seating was cramped but the lights added ambiance. This place is worth a try.”
“I had the tofu and veggie burrito and a kale salad. My husband got the Nopal (cactus) burrito. Everything was delicious. We were just so grateful to be able to choose from such an extensive menu without any concerns about what might or might not be vegan. Another plus - the service was fast and friendly. “Great staff, it’s always clean, and they make amazing sandwiches. This place tends to get real busy at lunch time; I recommend calling ahead. You you also have a choice of delicious breads, and you can customize your sandwich if you wish! The staff is always courteous, and quick. Their egg salad sandwich is really delicious, you just have to try it!”

Genuinely one of the best caprese salads I’ve ever had, the momo dumplings are delicious, and the paella hit the spot. But honestly the best part was the owner (?) who was just beyond friendly and made the whole experience that much warmer. If I lived here I’d be here all the time.”
“This place was magical from the second we walked through the turquoise-colored door with its old fashioned door knob. We had no reservation & we were coming from Fieldwork brewing (so my hubby really needed to eat). They had no spots available (reservations are nearly necessary here on Fri. & Sat. they informed us later). However, they promptly set up backyard heater & provided blankets for our quickly provided outdoor seating. We ordered 2 shots of mezcal (cause we were outside & it was kinda cold), which the manager informed us they only served the best ;) They sent out it a waitperson who informed us “I’ll be taking care of you tonight.” Which turned out to be true from the service to dinner/dessert recommendations, and packing up our leftover beans to take home. Eventually, they moved us inside because of a cancelation. And I haven’t even started on the carefully crafted cocktails & food. So meticulously crafted, and presented. I rarely favor restaurant food over my own cooking ability, but I can confidently say their food is way better than my own lol. Again, everything was beautiful, perfect, & delicious! Also, I’m thinking the line for coffee & morning eats at their sister bakery Alta can attest to amazing, soon to be Monterey culinary fixture. Thank you for the memorable night & dinner Cella! “This place was recommended to me from a new friend. The food is absolutely amazing! I got the BB (a bacon blu burger) rare. It came out rare and so juicy! My husband got the Philly Cheese Steak also so delicious! We had forgotten to ask for our appetizer but the bar tender was more then happy to bring it to us after we got our food. The drinks atmosphere and food is a perfect balance. I highly recommend this place.”

The hotel is in a weird part of the neighborhood that made me think there might be some seedy businesses nearby, the small parking lot behind the building is accessed by an extremely narrow alleyway and I was afraid I might have trouble turning the car around, and the rooms are small. —- BUT —- The hotel has tons of charm and they work hard to make your stay memorable. Our room was thoughtfully appointed with hardwood flooring and a heated tile bathroom, supportive pillows, an electric fireplace, a wireless charger, a jetted tub, and Charmin toilet paper! The window opened out to a small hint of a balcony. As we were coming and going throughout our stay I was touched to see the cleaning staff spend so much time cleaning just one room, and even at one out I saw one of them polishing the baseboards. The breakfast was delicious, with freshly baked popovers hot out of the oven accompanied by butter and homemade jam. The lemon ricotta pancakes were very good — I had no idea lemon could taste fragrant and floral without being sour. The polenta was buttery and delicious. We got to meet the owner Nick, who was very nice. Tony checked us in and served us breakfast with a smile every morning.”

“We came here after two other restaurants were closed and we are so glad we did. We only got a couple of small things, but their service was excellent and from what I tried of the quesadillas and the Chips and salsa was super good! Obviously i had to get a Jarritos to top it off, but great restaurant!”

This is Monterey County’s very best restaurant. Service is also excellent since ownership duo lead that effort too. Place was full of very happy customers but is always is. Our #1 choice. “Truly some of the best ice cream I’ve ever had! The peanutbutter chip flavor was vegan but you’d never know it. I paired it with a chocolate with berries and fluff, which had the perfect balance of rich chocolate to jammy berries. We did have to wait for at least 30 minutes as the line moves very slowly, despite them not offering samples.”
“Generally quite good. Atmosphere was pleasant and relaxing. Service was quick and accurate.I had the meatball sandwich with sweet potato fries for lunch. Lots of favorable meatballs, cheese and the marinara sauce was interesting without being too hot as many are now. Sweet Potato fries were not overcooked or over salted.
Almost empty for lunch but I expect that they bring in a good dinner crowd with all of the beer selections. I did not try any.
Only two negatives. The iced tea was off. It had a heavy taste as if the water had too many minerals. And the prices are just a bit too high. There are meals as good in the same area for less.
But I will go back. The pleasant, relaxing almost empty atmosphere will sometimes be worth the extra money!”

We met there and were married in Pacific Grove on our lunch hour. In our minds it's a magical place (and a superb language school) that expanded our horizons. We're returning to the U.S. after many years overseas.”

They seated us in a nice booth, which made managing our babies a lot easier. We ordered the fries, mac and cheese, mussels, bucatini, spinach ravioli, oysters, and bread pudding. Not one thing disappointed. The food alone would bring us back, but our server Armando is the reason we'll be telling everyone we know about this place. “Excellent spot for affordable eats. We ordered chips, salsa and guacamole for starters. Then we all had burritos. Cali Fries, the Surf & Turf and the Street Carne Asada Burrito. Everything was hot and fresh, tortillas are homemade and fresh also. Highly recommend and will be stopping by again.”
“Troya Turkish Delight (Coffee & Treats) is an absolute must-visit if you find yourself wandering Cannery Row and need a serious caffeine kick or a satisfying sugar fix. I tried their traditional Turkish coffee with medium sugar, and it was pretty darn amazing and strong—exactly the kind of bold, authentic brew you hope for. The baklava is hands-down the best I’ve ever had, featuring incredibly flaky layers and a wonderful balance of sweet honey and rich pistachio flavors. Beyond the menu, the hospitality truly sets this place apart. The owner was very kind, providing some samples and sharing details about the different traditional treats they have available. It is a great place for an extremely strong coffee and a perfect spot to satisfy a sweet tooth while exploring the area. Plus cozy outdoor seating.”

“We have been going to Heirloom Pizza a few times a year for a while now and have always enjoyed great food and good service. This was until last night. The food was still delicious and the server was good. That was the limit of a good experience. The hostess had a look that we were bothering her by wanting to eat there. We arrived about 7pm and they were busy, but it only took about 10 minutes to be seated. We ordered fairly quickly and then waited for over 50 minutes to have an appetizer to reach our table and another 25 minutes for our main dish. By the time we received our appetizer the restaurant had only 5-6 tables with people still sitting. We understand that it takes a little longer for a deep dish pizza, but well over an hour in unacceptable. In the 50 minutes we saw no less than a dozen or so orders go out the door for pickup orders. I understand they sell pizza and there is likely a large amount of business that doesn't come an stay to eat, but we felt forgotten. If we choose to go back, maybe we should order before arriving.”

I loved the atmosphere; it’s a perfect mix of pizza parlor and sports bar. It was clean, comfortable, and ideal for hanging out with friends, catching a game, and enjoying a drink. The separate 21+ bar area was a nice touch, and they even had a play area for kids. Of all the Mountain Mike’s I’ve visited, this location stood out as one of the best. Five stars!”

“My aunt and uncle own this spot, and let me tell you they didn’t just open a sandwich shop, they opened a hug in food form. The sandwiches are stacked, the flavors hit just right, and everything feels like it was made by people who genuinely care (because, well, they do). It’s the kind of place where you leave full, happy, and lowkey wondering if you can be adopted into the family. Monterey, you’re lucky. Real lucky.”

“I absolutely love Happy Dragon Family Restaurant in Monterey! Their Moo Goo Gai Pan is one of my go-to dishes, fresh, flavorful, and perfectly cooked every time. The fried rice is also fantastic and pairs so well with everything on the menu. Honestly, everything I’ve tried has been consistently delicious, served hot, and clearly made with care. You can really taste the quality. What makes the experience even better is the family who owns and runs the restaurant. They are always so kind, welcoming, and fun, it truly feels like you’re part of their extended family when you walk in. Great food, great people, and a place I’ll keep coming back to! Highly recommend.”

“Highly recommend this place. We started out with the Tapas (calamari and the burrata) which was so good! Then we had the paella. It takes 30min to prepare which they told us about and it was disclosed on the menu too which I appreciated. This paella was literally the best paella I ever had EVER. ! Absolutely delicious!!!!! Shareable too! I had the Spanish Margarita for my cocktail and that was delicious too. Left completely stuffed. Definitely worth it.”
“5th time here and it was delicious as usual. Very busy around 6 on a Sunday night. Lots of specials available. Staff was friendly and our apps (soup and salad) came out quickly. Our Tuna, Crab cake/scallop special and steamed clams took a while but understandable given how busy they were. We always come here when we are in town and will continue to come back.”
“My husband and I spent several days last week visiting the Monterey Bay area and had several people recommend Lalla Grill Oceanside as a great place to dine. They were so right ... the food, the service, and the atmosphere were all top notch! Our server, Serena, was an absolutely delightful young lady and helped us order a selection of foods that were all amazing! The floor-to-ceiling windows overlooking the water offered spectacular views. Next time we visit the area, there will definitely be a return trip to Lalla Grill!”

“Scoops is the best ice cream parlor in Monterey Bay! My kids had an absolute blast and loved every moment of it. The staff were phenomenal and made the experience fantastic. My daughter go the Unicorn Shake and it was possibly the best thing she’s ever tasted, at least according to her. Prices were totally reasonable for the area and parking was readily available. If you’re looking to treat your family, this is the place to go!”
“Took my wife and kids here on the night they launched a brand new menu, to celebrate our anniversary, and everything was fantastic. They seated us in a nice booth, which made managing our babies a lot easier. We ordered the fries, mac and cheese, mussels, bucatini, spinach ravioli, oysters, and bread pudding. Not one thing disappointed. The food alone would bring us back, but our server Armando is the reason we'll be telling everyone we know about this place. He was kind, attentive, and made our whole family feel genuinely welcome. If you want a mixed drink, tell him what you like and see what he comes up with. Do yourself a favor and check this place out.”

“Our visit to Stoke's Adobe last weekend produced the best meal I've had on The Peninsula in a decade! Restauranteur, Sarah Orr, has hit one out of the park. The dishes prepared by Executive Chef, Bryce Hansen, were flawless, my favorties being the seared scallops and truffle chicken. Loved the nod to former occupant and socialite, Hattie Gragg, with the inclusion of the Hattie's Old Fashioned on the cocktail menu :) Looking forward to our next visit and an opportunity to sample other items on their ever evolving menu.”
