“Our visit to Stoke's Adobe last weekend produced the best meal I've had on The Peninsula in a decade! Restauranteur, Sarah Orr, has hit one out of the park. The dishes prepared by Executive Chef, Bryce Hansen, were flawless, my favorties being the seared scallops and truffle chicken. Loved the nod to former occupant and socialite, Hattie Gragg, with the inclusion of the Hattie's Old Fashioned on the cocktail menu :) Looking forward to our next visit and an opportunity to sample other items on their ever evolving menu.”

“This was the best restaurant I never ate in. Lemme explain. My superwonderul-one-in-a-million friend is in Monterey visiting her sister and bro-in-law there. (Actually they live in Chico, CA but they drove down to Monterey for the weekend.) So, says I, "Why not try Sardine Factory? (I live in Albuquerque, but hey, Diana is my superwonderul-one-in-a-million friend...oops, I already said that... and she is in CA, visiting from Albuquerque). So I called Sardine Factory and spoke to Mary and she took my credit card number and the rest is history. THANK YOU MARY! Diana, my friend, said it was a "10." "Staff was fantatic."in the Conservatory. "The waiter tied a bib" on her. The best meal I ever had... from 1,00 miles away. Mary, you are the sweetest person in the world! But Diana loved it, and that what matters the most. Oh, she had cioppino (see photo) and her sister had "delicious" seafood pasta and her bro in law had sea bass ("very good"). So Mary, and Sardine Factory, you made people very happy this evening. But that is what you do. God bless.”

“Lovely bakery near the historic of Monterey, Parker-Lusseau is savored by many visitors and locals alike.

It is always busy and has limited space inside and only outdoor seating so I seldom make it in but one of my coffee club members loves it so when the boys were elsewhere early in the morning I pooped in for a cappuccino.

Friendly and efficient, the team was working hard to get thing into the cases and serve the line already there.

They were great to greatw, which previously had not been my experience, and set my expectations, and nicely directed me to where I could wait for the drink where I chatted with a visitor.

The pasteries and cakes are known to be amoung the best in the local area.

They serve Acme and my cappuccino came with a beautiful foam.

Worth a visit if you've never been.”

“I first visited this amazing local deli in 1989-1990. I remembered the half loaves of bread stacked high with a pile of my choice of meats and cheeses. Although I was only 18-19, Compagno’s established my standard for an amazing sandwich. 32 years later I brought my sons here for lunch. Same delicious goodness a generation later.”

“This place was so good!! The service was quick, friendly, and excellent. The food was all DELICIOUS.

We ordered the firecracker roll, the Frankenstein roll, the green goblin roll, the ume shiso roll, and the pickled daikon roll. Everything was so good!! Usually when I go to sushi places some rolls are better than others, but everything we ordered was hit after hit. They served the rolls on a boat, too, which was such a fun surprise and my grandparents really enjoyed it! Highly recommend stopping by if you’re in the area — the rolls are very creative and different from other sushi places I’ve tried.

My brother had the udon, which was filling and delicious as well.

For dessert we got the tempura banana with green tea ice cream, and green tea ice cream. The tempura banana was so delicious, the green tea ice cream was not too sweet and balanced out the richness of the fried banana very well. I enjoyed it more than I expected to!”

“Very cute little cafe with top notch Lebanese foods. It's a pretty standard menu and everything we had was quite good. Don't forget to close out with the house made baklava, a great little treat, not too sweet but a good way to wrap up a meal.”

“Great staff, it’s always clean, and they make amazing sandwiches. This place tends to get real busy at lunch time; I recommend calling ahead. You you also have a choice of delicious breads, and you can customize your sandwich if you wish! The staff is always courteous, and quick. “I had done a search for the best clam chowder in Monterey and they are at the top of almost every list, and they were right! I got the clam chowder in the garlic sourdough bowl I highly recommend them! My wife, Michele got risotto with caramelized onions, shrimp and sole. We had a view of Monterey Bay and some sea lions playing. Our server, Giovanny, was phenomenal! He brought Michele a piece of complimentary cheesecake and a rose for her birthday. 🌹 I had the chocolate creme brûlée. Great start to our mini-vacay in Monterey!”

Excellent Southwest eggs Benedict; chicken fettuccini; fruit salad and Cinnamon toast special with eggs. Chocolate Oreo cake for dessert. Excellent service for a relaxing Sunday. “Had a fantastic experience at Lighthouse Bistro Global Cuisine! One of the things that stood out to us was that they offer halal lamb and chicken options. We ordered the Pomegranate Chicken and an off-the-menu lamb kabob, and both dishes were outstanding.
The chicken was juicy, tender, and packed with flavor, while the lamb kabob was perfectly cooked and incredibly delicious. The seasoned vegetables were done just right, and the rice was cooked to perfection, making the entire meal feel balanced and satisfying.
The service was friendly and attentive throughout our visit, and parking was easy and convenient right outside the restaurant.
If you're looking for flavorful halal-friendly options and great hospitality, I highly recommend Lighthouse Bistro Global Cuisine. We'll definitely be back!”

“We were visiting from out of town and the bartender Mike was super friendly and chatted with us as if we were regulars. He is also clearly passionate about beers and basically gave us a tasting lesson to help us decide which beer we wanted for a full pour. Even after picking our beers, he had us try more. It was a great experience, and we even decided to get some to take home.”

“This place was magical from the second we walked through the turquoise-colored door with its old fashioned door knob. We had no reservation & we were coming from Fieldwork brewing (so my hubby really needed to eat). They had no spots available (reservations are nearly necessary here on Fri. & Sat. they informed us later). However, they promptly set up backyard heater & provided blankets for our quickly provided outdoor seating. We ordered 2 shots of mezcal (cause we were outside & it was kinda cold), which the manager informed us they only served the best ;) They sent out it a waitperson who informed us “I’ll be taking care of you tonight.” Which turned out to be true from the service to dinner/dessert recommendations, and packing up our leftover beans to take home. Eventually, they moved us inside because of a cancelation. And I haven’t even started on the carefully crafted cocktails & food. So meticulously crafted, and presented. I rarely favor restaurant food over my own cooking ability, but I can confidently say their food is way better than my own lol. Again, everything was beautiful, perfect, & delicious! Also, I’m thinking the line for coffee & morning eats at their sister bakery Alta can attest to amazing, soon to be Monterey culinary fixture. Thank you for the memorable night & dinner Cella! The hotel is in a weird part of the neighborhood that made me think there might be some seedy businesses nearby, the small parking lot behind the building is accessed by an extremely narrow alleyway and I was afraid I might have trouble turning the car around, and the rooms are small. —- BUT —- The hotel has tons of charm and they work hard to make your stay memorable. Our room was thoughtfully appointed with hardwood flooring and a heated tile bathroom, supportive pillows, an electric fireplace, a wireless charger, a jetted tub, and Charmin toilet paper! The window opened out to a small hint of a balcony. As we were coming and going throughout our stay I was touched to see the cleaning staff spend so much time cleaning just one room, and even at one out I saw one of them polishing the baseboards. The breakfast was delicious, with freshly baked popovers hot out of the oven accompanied by butter and homemade jam. The lemon ricotta pancakes were very good — I had no idea lemon could taste fragrant and floral without being sour. The polenta was buttery and delicious. We got to meet the owner Nick, who was very nice. Tony checked us in and served us breakfast with a smile every morning.”

“Went to Moulin a few nights ago to celebrate our friends birthday. What an exceptional experience. We have more or less given up on dining out regularly as the expense doesn’t match the amount of times we are let down by mediocre food and/or service. Absolutely not the case here. The food, service and ambiance were exceptional. I had the best duck confit I’ve had in a long time. All of us were wowed by our selections. Very highly recommend Bistro Moulin for a great night out.”

“Papa Chanos never disappoints! First thing I noticed walking in was how clean the restaurant was — seriously spotless. We ordered burritos, asada fries, quesadillas, and beans and rice, and everything was absolutely delicious. The portions were way bigger than expected — those quesadillas were LOADED. We got so much more food than we anticipated, which is always a win!
My son ordered the bean burrito and gave it a solid 10/10 — his words, not mine — and honestly I couldn’t argue with him. It was that good. The asada fries and beans and rice were just as satisfying.
The free chips and salsa bar is such a great touch. Fresh, flavorful, and a perfect way to start the meal while you wait. Speaking of waiting — we barely had to! Our food came out super fast, which is impressive considering how fresh and well-made everything tasted.
If you’re looking for a go-to Mexican spot with great food, generous portions, and a clean, welcoming environment, Papa Chanos is it. We’ll definitely be back!”

“We have been going to Heirloom Pizza a few times a year for a while now and have always enjoyed great food and good service. This was until last night. The food was still delicious and the server was good. That was the limit of a good experience. The hostess had a look that we were bothering her by wanting to eat there. We arrived about 7pm and they were busy, but it only took about 10 minutes to be seated. We ordered fairly quickly and then waited for over 50 minutes to have an appetizer to reach our table and another 25 minutes for our main dish. By the time we received our appetizer the restaurant had only 5-6 tables with people still sitting. We understand that it takes a little longer for a deep dish pizza, but well over an hour in unacceptable. In the 50 minutes we saw no less than a dozen or so orders go out the door for pickup orders. I understand they sell pizza and there is likely a large amount of business that doesn't come an stay to eat, but we felt forgotten. If we choose to go back, maybe we should order before arriving.”

“We went to Mountain Mike's on the recommendation of one of my coworkers, and I'm very happy we did. The staff were very friendly and were very patient as we considered all of our options. We decided to split a large Everest with no mushrooms, and it was fantastic. The employee also offered to substitute the mushrooms for another topping, instead of just removing them, which I've never had a pizza place do. We went on a Tuesday, and there was a deal on a large specialty pizza that brought our total with 2 soft drinks to just $30. The dining room was clean, and the booths were spacious. The standout aspect of this place is how fresh everything tasted. I'm not sure how ordering delivery would affect the experience, but eating it fresh was delicious. There aren't any Mountain Mike's where we are visiting from, but whenever we visit, it'll definitely be one of our stops for an easy lunch or dinner.”

“Picked up food to go last year and it was really good. So happy that we found this place again! Ordered garlic parm and spicy fried chicken wing plates, lemongrass chicken and beef meatball pho. Also ordered strawberry and melon boba milk tea and Vietnamese coffee with egg cream. Food and drinks came out quickly. Customer service was great. It was so good that we ate and drank everything! We will definitely come here again when we’re in the area.”

“So much choice here, and I love that a full third of the menu is vegetarian or vegan, it makes picking something genuinely fun. The sandwich options are absolutely delicious. I had the ‘Going Home for Thanksgiving’ and it was so tasty, packed with flavour and really satisfying. My husband went for the 'Go Sharks', and we both had ours on sourdough, which was perfect.

The dirty sauce is incredible, one of those things you instantly want more of. And the apple and caramel lollies at the end were such a lovely touch.

“I absolutely love Happy Dragon Family Restaurant in Monterey! Their Moo Goo Gai Pan is one of my go-to dishes, fresh, flavorful, and perfectly cooked every time. The fried rice is also fantastic and pairs so well with everything on the menu. Honestly, everything I’ve tried has been consistently delicious, served hot, and clearly made with care. You can really taste the quality. What makes the experience even better is the family who owns and runs the restaurant. They are always so kind, welcoming, and fun, it truly feels like you’re part of their extended family when you walk in. Great food, great people, and a place I’ll keep coming back to! The dishes prepared by Executive Chef, Bryce Hansen, were flawless, my favorties being the seared scallops and truffle chicken. Loved the nod to former occupant and socialite, Hattie Gragg, with the inclusion of the Hattie's Old Fashioned on the cocktail menu :) Looking forward to our next visit and an opportunity to sample other items on their ever evolving menu.”

“Monterey Fish House was one of the highlights of my trip! I ordered the raw oysters and a seafood pasta, and both were excellent. The oysters were incredibly fresh, clean-tasting, and the perfect way to start the meal. The seafood pasta was just as impressive, loaded with fresh seafood, perfectly cooked, and served in a huge portion that was definitely worth the price. You can tell they don’t skimp on quality or quantity.

The restaurant has a welcoming, local feel, and the food speaks for itself. If you’re in Monterey and looking for fresh seafood, this is a spot you shouldn’t miss. I’ll definitely be back the next time I’m in town!”

“Highly recommend this place. We started out with the Tapas (calamari and the burrata) which was so good! Then we had the paella. It takes 30min to prepare which they told us about and it was disclosed on the menu too which I appreciated. This paella was literally the best paella I ever had EVER. ! Absolutely delicious!!!!! Shareable too! I had the Spanish Margarita for my cocktail and that was delicious too. Left completely stuffed. Definitely worth it.”

“My husband and I spent several days last week visiting the Monterey Bay area and had several people recommend Lalla Grill Oceanside as a great place to dine. They were so right ... the food, the service, and the atmosphere were all top notch! Our server, Serena, was an absolutely delightful young lady and helped us order a selection of foods that were all amazing! The floor-to-ceiling windows overlooking the water offered spectacular views. Next time we visit the area, there will definitely be a return trip to Lalla Grill!”
