As a self-proclaimed bakery aficionado, and having lived in Monterey ~ 25 years, I have tried every bakery within 25 miles and any notable bakery with 3 counties. I know their hours, tried their specialties, waited in lines (when lines were a few locals not a London-esque que) and I have my favorites. Overall, it is Parker Lusseau hands down. Pastries? YASSSS! Coffee? YASSSSS! VIBE? YASSS! Just wish their place it bigger. WiFi? Not sure (haven't tried ) I LOVE LOVE THIS PLACE! You seriously can't go wrong with their pastries, cakes etc. YOU WONT FIND A BETTER QUICHE ANYWHERE ELSE! Almond croissants are way better than Paris Bakery. Fantastic French cafe eats and coffee drinks. The setting is so Van Gogh. Perhaps it has views of the water from the unaccessible upper floors but it’s a quaint little place and is part of Monterey’s eclectic make-up. If you have a B’day coming up their French cakes are divine too.
