Alfredo's Cantina Cocktail Bar • $$
266 Pearl St, Monterey

“The bartender was fantastic and so accommodating. Made the evening unforgettable. The atmosphere was perfect. There were no chairs when I arrived, but I was fortunate enough to snag a bar rail on the wall adjacent to the bar. When I looked about, I observed that the area is nicely designed in an art-deco style. However, there was no place to hang a coat ((add coat hooks, please!!)). There were a lot of people waiting to be served at the bar, but the bartender appeared to be slinging drinks swiftly enough.“

“Hands down, the best Mexican restaurant in the peninsula. I personally have heard so many good things about this restaurant, as they have various locations in the peninsula. I have never tried it till now. I am boy have I been missing out!Our server was kind and friendly. Right away, he took our order for our beverages, in which I ordered an Horchata. They Horchata itself was delicious, and definitely not artificial. I went ahead and ordered the quesabirria tacos. My boyfriend ordered some Asada Gorditas, and my parents ordered their famous Molcajete, and added shrimp. Our food was served to us right away and looked super appealing. These Quesabirria tacos definitely did not disappoint. The taco it was super crispy and fall of shredded birria and cheese. Both my parents and my boyfriend love their seasoning, and how rich the food was. The flavoring of everything was just phenomenal. This location is quite big, and has both booths and tables available for sitting inside. I'll definitely be back !“

“To be clear, there is no food, it's just drinks. However I love the location, the ambiance, and said drinks. They put care into creating these recipes, and just as much care into making them. Service is wonderful, and the live music is great. Be prepared to put some money down for drinks, average price off happy hour for the drinks is in the neighborhood of 16 bucks. We spent about 80ish bucks for two drinks each between my wife and I.“

“I love the new location in the Barnyard. The Caesar salad is to die for. They also have trivia night and beers for sale to go. I love the owner Khai. He used to work at Bottoms Up before owning Post No Bills and so he is very knowledgeable about craft beer and also how beers are brewed. He also does a lot of beer research on new and upcoming beers and brewing companies that he can bring into his establishment. I also heard soon there will be a kareoke host to have kareoke at new location!“

“We had a great birthday celebration here for one of our friends. It's becoming a tradition since it's the 3rd time we've celebrated his birthday here. Food is always on point! If you want traditional German food, this is THE place to go. Goulash, cream of broccoli soup, and a pea/potato/sausage soup was all enjoyed by our group. Our group ordered the following: Hausplatte, Claudia‘s Hausschnitzel, Zigeunerschnitzel (pictured), Jaegerschnitzel, Stammtischschnitzel, and their vegetarian plate. And copious amounts of German beer! They are a family run business and they just celebrated 32 years! Reservations only.“

“We sat outdoors and got the heat lamp for warmth..little chilly the day we went. The con was the mimosa drink..If I knew the mimosa was going to be in a big glass but the portion was 2 sips. I would have got a different drink. Very tacky. Other than that the food was good. The service was great.“
