“This was the best restaurant I never ate in. Lemme explain. My superwonderul-one-in-a-million friend is in Monterey visiting her sister and bro-in-law there. (Actually they live in Chico, CA but they drove down to Monterey for the weekend.) So, says I, "Why not try Sardine Factory? (I live in Albuquerque, but hey, Diana is my superwonderul-one-in-a-million friend...oops, I already said that... and she is in CA, visiting from Albuquerque). So I called Sardine Factory and spoke to Mary and she took my credit card number and the rest is history. THANK YOU MARY! Diana, my friend, said it was a "10." "Staff was fantatic."in the Conservatory. "The waiter tied a bib" on her. The best meal I ever had... from 1,00 miles away. Mary, you are the sweetest person in the world! But Diana loved it, and that what matters the most. Oh, she had cioppino (see photo) and her sister had "delicious" seafood pasta and her bro in law had sea bass ("very good"). So Mary, and Sardine Factory, you made people very happy this evening. But that is what you do. God bless.“

“My best friend and I came here to watch the World Cup and we showed up at 4pm because the game was at 5pm. We thought we were early but we were not! The bar seats were full and the seats by the TV were also full. We added our names to the waitlist just in case but the employee did tell us that the seats we would be assigned aren't near the TVs. The seats by the bar and behind the bar are free for grabs so thankfully we were able to sit down to watch the game! The food was delicious, and our server came and checked in on us multiple times. The servers have great attitudes and they treat the customers very well and considerately. If you are in Monterey during game seasons, please come visit here for an amazing experience!“

“This place was so good!! The service was quick, friendly, and excellent. The food was all DELICIOUS.

We ordered the firecracker roll, the Frankenstein roll, the green goblin roll, the ume shiso roll, and the pickled daikon roll. Everything was so good!! Usually when I go to sushi places some rolls are better than others, but everything we ordered was hit after hit. They served the rolls on a boat, too, which was such a fun surprise and my grandparents really enjoyed it! Highly recommend stopping by if you’re in the area — the rolls are very creative and different from other sushi places I’ve tried.

My brother had the udon, which was filling and delicious as well.

For dessert we got the tempura banana with green tea ice cream, and green tea ice cream. The tempura banana was so delicious, the green tea ice cream was not too sweet and balanced out the richness of the fried banana very well. I enjoyed it more than I expected to!“

“Great place for quick lunch“

“I had done a search for the best clam chowder in Monterey and they are at the top of almost every list, and they were right! I got the clam chowder in the garlic sourdough bowl I highly recommend them! My wife, Michele got risotto with caramelized onions, shrimp and sole. We had a view of Monterey Bay and some sea lions playing. Our server, Giovanny, was phenomenal! He brought Michele a piece of complimentary cheesecake and a rose for her birthday. 🌹 I had the chocolate creme brûlée. Great start to our mini-vacay in Monterey!“

“Very cute little cafe with top notch Lebanese foods. It's a pretty standard menu and everything we had was quite good. Don't forget to close out with the house made baklava, a great little treat, not too sweet but a good way to wrap up a meal.“

“I went there for lunch and I learned by surprise that the tavern has been there for almost 40 years! I always trust long-lasting business because they don’t survive for no reason!
I like their old-school burger. They have sesames on the buns which is very nostalgic for me. The server was very attentive and patient even though my English was not great.
I also watched the World Cup there. They have great TV and I really like how the server was watching together with us. Great atmosphere.“

“Went to Moulin a few nights ago to celebrate our friends birthday. What an exceptional experience. We have more or less given up on dining out regularly as the expense doesn’t match the amount of times we are let down by mediocre food and/or service. Absolutely not the case here. The food, service and ambiance were exceptional. I had the best duck confit I’ve had in a long time. All of us were wowed by our selections. Very highly recommend Bistro Moulin for a great night out.“

“We have been going to Heirloom Pizza a few times a year for a while now and have always enjoyed great food and good service. This was until last night. The food was still delicious and the server was good. That was the limit of a good experience. The hostess had a look that we were bothering her by wanting to eat there. We arrived about 7pm and they were busy, but it only took about 10 minutes to be seated. We ordered fairly quickly and then waited for over 50 minutes to have an appetizer to reach our table and another 25 minutes for our main dish. By the time we received our appetizer the restaurant had only 5-6 tables with people still sitting. We understand that it takes a little longer for a deep dish pizza, but well over an hour in unacceptable. In the 50 minutes we saw no less than a dozen or so orders go out the door for pickup orders. I understand they sell pizza and there is likely a large amount of business that doesn't come an stay to eat, but we felt forgotten. If we choose to go back, maybe we should order before arriving.“

“We went to Mountain Mike's on the recommendation of one of my coworkers, and I'm very happy we did. The staff were very friendly and were very patient as we considered all of our options. We decided to split a large Everest with no mushrooms, and it was fantastic. The employee also offered to substitute the mushrooms for another topping, instead of just removing them, which I've never had a pizza place do. We went on a Tuesday, and there was a deal on a large specialty pizza that brought our total with 2 soft drinks to just $30. The dining room was clean, and the booths were spacious. The standout aspect of this place is how fresh everything tasted. I'm not sure how ordering delivery would affect the experience, but eating it fresh was delicious. There aren't any Mountain Mike's where we are visiting from, but whenever we visit, it'll definitely be one of our stops for an easy lunch or dinner.“

“We were hungry for something other than seafood. The Big Sur looked good. My wife had a burger for lunch so she had the chicken strips. The six pieces looked like a fried chicken, lightly breaded, perfectly fried. I ordered the Big Kauna; a double burger with bacon, jalapeños and two rings of grilled pineapple. We also got a side of onion rings. They were the best onion rings I’ve ever had. Period! The 4.4 rating is low. It deserves a 4.7 at least service was expedient.“

“I was in a bad mood, then came into this pub. After some food (hot crab sandwich), tea and a Margarita Pepper I felt sooo much better.

The food for the price is great. Portions are huge.

The chicken pie is enough for two or a second meal for one.“

“They have several vegetarian dishes. I got the Buddha's delight and it was very good. My husband got the kung pao tofu and said it was really good. The staff was very polite, friendly, and helpful--and the food came very fast. Nice place! We'll come again.“

“So much choice here, and I love that a full third of the menu is vegetarian or vegan, it makes picking something genuinely fun. The sandwich options are absolutely delicious. I had the ‘Going Home for Thanksgiving’ and it was so tasty, packed with flavour and really satisfying. My husband went for the 'Go Sharks', and we both had ours on sourdough, which was perfect.

The dirty sauce is incredible, one of those things you instantly want more of. And the apple and caramel lollies at the end were such a lovely touch.
