“This was the best restaurant I never ate in. Lemme explain. My superwonderul-one-in-a-million friend is in Monterey visiting her sister and bro-in-law there. (Actually they live in Chico, CA but they drove down to Monterey for the weekend.) So, says I, "Why not try Sardine Factory? (I live in Albuquerque, but hey, Diana is my superwonderul-one-in-a-million friend...oops, I already said that... and she is in CA, visiting from Albuquerque). So I called Sardine Factory and spoke to Mary and she took my credit card number and the rest is history. THANK YOU MARY! Diana, my friend, said it was a "10." "Staff was fantatic."in the Conservatory. "The waiter tied a bib" on her. The best meal I ever had... from 1,00 miles away. Mary, you are the sweetest person in the world! But Diana loved it, and that what matters the most. Oh, she had cioppino (see photo) and her sister had "delicious" seafood pasta and her bro in law had sea bass ("very good"). So Mary, and Sardine Factory, you made people very happy this evening. But that is what you do. God bless.“

Steven, our server, is outstanding for perceiving when customers need a request. Alvarado Street is the highlight for food, service, and enjoyment on the Monterey Peninsula“

“Ordered 3 sushi rolls and the chicken teriyaki entree. Food was definitely delicious and thoroughly enjoyed it. Service can be significantly improved!! Each time we had to call the server to our table if we needed something. Made it a challenge to add more meals to the order if desired.

Overall rating would have been higher if service can improve.“

“I had done a search for the best clam chowder in Monterey and they are at the top of almost every list, and they were right! I got the clam chowder in the garlic sourdough bowl I highly recommend them! My wife, Michele got risotto with caramelized onions, shrimp and sole. We had a view of Monterey Bay and some sea lions playing. Our server, Giovanny, was phenomenal! He brought Michele a piece of complimentary cheesecake and a rose for her birthday. 🌹 I had the chocolate creme brûlée. Great start to our mini-vacay in Monterey!“

“Very cute little cafe with top notch Lebanese foods. It's a pretty standard menu and everything we had was quite good. Don't forget to close out with the house made baklava, a great little treat, not too sweet but a good way to wrap up a meal.“

“We love Cafe Fina and always try to dine there when in Monterey. Great food, cocktails and good wine selection. We recently had our son and daughter in law’s rehearsal luncheon there and everyone enjoyed the atmosphere, amazing food and drinks. We highly recommend this fine restaurant while visiting Monterey. “We were visiting from the San Francisco Bay Area and decided to give La Bahia a try—and we’re so glad we did! We ordered the mahi mahi fish taco, the shrimp taco, and the surf & turf burrito. Everything was cooked to perfection. The shrimp were incredibly juicy and flavorful, the fish was fresh, and the burrito was packed with delicious ingredients and generous portions. You can tell they put care into their food. The staff was friendly, and the overall experience was fantastic. We’ll definitely be stopping by again the next time we’re in Monterey!“

“Went to Moulin a few nights ago to celebrate our friends birthday. What an exceptional experience. We have more or less given up on dining out regularly as the expense doesn’t match the amount of times we are let down by mediocre food and/or service. Absolutely not the case here. The food, service and ambiance were exceptional. I had the best duck confit I’ve had in a long time. All of us were wowed by our selections. Very highly recommend Bistro Moulin for a great night out.“

“We have been going to Heirloom Pizza a few times a year for a while now and have always enjoyed great food and good service. This was until last night. The food was still delicious and the server was good. That was the limit of a good experience. The hostess had a look that we were bothering her by wanting to eat there. We arrived about 7pm and they were busy, but it only took about 10 minutes to be seated. We ordered fairly quickly and then waited for over 50 minutes to have an appetizer to reach our table and another 25 minutes for our main dish. By the time we received our appetizer the restaurant had only 5-6 tables with people still sitting. We understand that it takes a little longer for a deep dish pizza, but well over an hour in unacceptable. In the 50 minutes we saw no less than a dozen or so orders go out the door for pickup orders. I understand they sell pizza and there is likely a large amount of business that doesn't come an stay to eat, but we felt forgotten. If we choose to go back, maybe we should order before arriving.“

“The food & service are both decent/good, like the staff & owner BUT I noticed this morning the cook uses his bare hands laying out raw bacon rubs his hands on his apron & then continues to touch everything else, definitely not hygienic and possibly making people sick!“

“We went to Mountain Mike's on the recommendation of one of my coworkers, and I'm very happy we did. The staff were very friendly and were very patient as we considered all of our options. We decided to split a large Everest with no mushrooms, and it was fantastic. The employee also offered to substitute the mushrooms for another topping, instead of just removing them, which I've never had a pizza place do. We went on a Tuesday, and there was a deal on a large specialty pizza that brought our total with 2 soft drinks to just $30. The dining room was clean, and the booths were spacious. The standout aspect of this place is how fresh everything tasted. I'm not sure how ordering delivery would affect the experience, but eating it fresh was delicious. There aren't any Mountain Mike's where we are visiting from, but whenever we visit, it'll definitely be one of our stops for an easy lunch or dinner.“

“We were hungry for something other than seafood. The Big Sur looked good. My wife had a burger for lunch so she had the chicken strips. The six pieces looked like a fried chicken, lightly breaded, perfectly fried. I ordered the Big Kauna; a double burger with bacon, jalapeños and two rings of grilled pineapple. We also got a side of onion rings. They were the best onion rings I’ve ever had. Period! The 4.4 rating is low. It deserves a 4.7 at least service was expedient.“

“They have several vegetarian dishes. I got the Buddha's delight and it was very good. My husband got the kung pao tofu and said it was really good. The staff was very polite, friendly, and helpful--and the food came very fast. Nice place! We'll come again.“
