“We live in San Francisco and were visiting Monterey when we searched for a good Korean restaurant and decided to give this place a try. The restaurant was very busy when we arrived, and we were so happy to see such a wide variety of Korean dishes on the menu.

The three of us really enjoyed the food, especially because there were many dishes that are not easy to find in the U.S. Everything was generous, flavorful, and tasted homemade, just like Korean food should.

My mother especially loved the kimchi and said it was much better than the kimchi we usually buy at the market, so we even purchased some to take home. Honestly, the food was so delicious that even compared to what we would eat in Korea, we had absolutely nothing to complain about.

Everyone who worked there was also incredibly kind and welcoming, which made our meal even more enjoyable.

And I have to give a special thank-you to the staff for going out of their way to safely mail back the cardigan I accidentally left behind. I had only recently bought it, so I was really worried that I might lose it. I was so relieved and grateful to receive it back. Thank you so, so much! ❤

“We had a good experience at El Palmar.

The restaurant was clean, and it was not too crowded when we visited in the afternoon, which made for a relaxed atmosphere.

Our server was polite and friendly. While service was a little slower than expected, she appeared to be managing the dining room on her own, and we appreciated her efforts.

We enjoyed the aguas frescas, and the Taco Tuesday specials offered good value. The tacos were good overall, although the carne asada tacos were not as hot as we expected when they were served.

Overall, it was an enjoyable meal, and we would consider visiting again.“

“Had a solid meal with the guys. We ordered the chicken taquitos for the table. I got the Cali wrap with carne asada. They ordered the chicken and shrimp fajitas and the combo meal with chicken enchilada and shredded beef taco. Everything was superb. Ask for the salsa verde if you like some kick. The complimentary chips and salsa are great as well.“

“Picked up the Sushi Special and Zaru to go from New Tokyo Restaurant in Marina, and it hit the spot.
The service was incredibly fast and friendly right from the start. Both items were excellent—the sushi was fresh and well-prepared, and the Zaru was refreshing and perfect for a takeout meal.

“I heard about their jumbo burrito so had to go get it the following day. I have never had to carry a burrito to go using both hands. Not only was the burrito huge it also tasted very good! Fed 4 adults with alittle left over. I will be going back soon“

“The patio offers a great view of the dunes and ocean. The food was okay and reasonably priced, but the service was quite poor. When we entered the restaurant, the hostess wasn't present, and several employees saw us there, but no one greeted us or made eye contact for several minutes. The restaurant was fairly empty when we were there for a late lunch on a Sunday. The staff was friendly but quite inattentive, and errors in our order required us to leave the table and hunt someone down for correction. They have the potential to be a great restaurant with a little focus on service.“
