“The patio offers a great view of the dunes and ocean. The food was okay and reasonably priced, but the service was quite poor. When we entered the restaurant, the hostess wasn't present, and several employees saw us there, but no one greeted us or made eye contact for several minutes. The restaurant was fairly empty when we were there for a late lunch on a Sunday. The staff was friendly but quite inattentive, and errors in our order required us to leave the table and hunt someone down for correction. They have the potential to be a great restaurant with a little focus on service.“

“This was the best restaurant I never ate in. Lemme explain. My superwonderul-one-in-a-million friend is in Monterey visiting her sister and bro-in-law there. (Actually they live in Chico, CA but they drove down to Monterey for the weekend.) So, says I, "Why not try Sardine Factory? (I live in Albuquerque, but hey, Diana is my superwonderul-one-in-a-million friend...oops, I already said that... and she is in CA, visiting from Albuquerque). So I called Sardine Factory and spoke to Mary and she took my credit card number and the rest is history. THANK YOU MARY! Diana, my friend, said it was a "10." "Staff was fantatic."in the Conservatory. "The waiter tied a bib" on her. The best meal I ever had... from 1,00 miles away. Mary, you are the sweetest person in the world! But Diana loved it, and that what matters the most. Oh, she had cioppino (see photo) and her sister had "delicious" seafood pasta and her bro in law had sea bass ("very good"). So Mary, and Sardine Factory, you made people very happy this evening. But that is what you do. God bless.“

Chez Noir is a restaurant with a clear perspective and warm authenticity, which makes it feel profoundly special. One of my all-time favorite restaurants, and I can well understand why it has garnered such acclaim! This was the perfect spot to celebrate our 20th anni.“

“I had done a search for the best clam chowder in Monterey and they are at the top of almost every list, and they were right! I got the clam chowder in the garlic sourdough bowl I highly recommend them! My wife, Michele got risotto with caramelized onions, shrimp and sole. We had a view of Monterey Bay and some sea lions playing. Our server, Giovanny, was phenomenal! He brought Michele a piece of complimentary cheesecake and a rose for her birthday. 🌹 I had the chocolate creme brûlée. Great start to our mini-vacay in Monterey!“

“Ordered take out twice during my month long vacation in PG. First order was 5 stars. Fish & Chips and artichoke appetizer. Hot, freshly prepared, delicious! 2nd (repeat) order not so much☹️. We’ve been here tons of times, but today when we went in, the service wasn’t the same, waitress seemed upset for some reason because I asked for extra avocado & I had to ask another waitress for some chips 20 minutes later because the original waitress never asked us if we needed anything else after they brought us our food. Besides that, food was delicious 👍🏿“

“The food was great, but the real star of the night was our waitress, Giuliana.

I swear she knows that menu better than the chef. 😂 We could’ve asked her what aisle the salt was made in, and she’d probably have had an answer. She knew every dish every ingredient and gave awesome recommendations.

What really impressed us was that even though the restaurant was absolutely packed, she never made us feel rushed. She still took the time to answer questions explain the menu and made the whole experience that much better.

To the owner whatever you’re paying Giuliana… it probably isn’t enough. 😆 Hang on to her employees like that are hard to find. 👍🏻🤩“

“I had a great experience at Maligne in Seaside. I had seen some negative reviews before coming in, but based on my experience today, I honestly don’t feel they reflect what this restaurant has to offer.

The open kitchen is awesome and gives the restaurant a warm, homey feel while still having that fine-dining atmosphere. The food was excellent, the drinks hit the spot, and Joel, our server, was awesome—friendly, attentive, and made the experience even better.
