“I first visited this amazing local deli in 1989-1990. I remembered the half loaves of bread stacked high with a pile of my choice of meats and cheeses. Although I was only 18-19, Compagno’s established my standard for an amazing sandwich. 32 years later I brought my sons here for lunch. Same delicious goodness a generation later.“

“We had a potato crispy taco, a mushroom taco on a soft corn tortilla and the veggie burrito. All were tasty! The salsas were very good-wish there were a few more to choose from. We will definitely go backbecause the food was super good and made pretty quickly. As other have commented, they have some kind of Christian radio station which we didn’t care for. Interior is very plain-can see getting takeout more than eating there in the future. Yummy food and reasonably priced-burrito was huge! We wil be back. Thankful for a fully vegan place! “I had done a search for the best clam chowder in Monterey and they are at the top of almost every list, and they were right! I got the clam chowder in the garlic sourdough bowl I highly recommend them! My wife, Michele got risotto with caramelized onions, shrimp and sole. We had a view of Monterey Bay and some sea lions playing. Our server, Giovanny, was phenomenal! He brought Michele a piece of complimentary cheesecake and a rose for her birthday. 🌹 I had the chocolate creme brûlée. Great start to our mini-vacay in Monterey!“

“Ordered 3 sushi rolls and the chicken teriyaki entree. Food was definitely delicious and thoroughly enjoyed it. Service can be significantly improved!! Each time we had to call the server to our table if we needed something. Made it a challenge to add more meals to the order if desired.

Overall rating would have been higher if service can improve.“

“We were visiting from the San Francisco Bay Area and decided to give La Bahia a try—and we’re so glad we did! We ordered the mahi mahi fish taco, the shrimp taco, and the surf & turf burrito. Everything was cooked to perfection. The shrimp were incredibly juicy and flavorful, the fish was fresh, and the burrito was packed with delicious ingredients and generous portions. You can tell they put care into their food. The staff was friendly, and the overall experience was fantastic. We’ll definitely be stopping by again the next time we’re in Monterey!“

“We have been going to Heirloom Pizza a few times a year for a while now and have always enjoyed great food and good service. This was until last night. The food was still delicious and the server was good. That was the limit of a good experience. The hostess had a look that we were bothering her by wanting to eat there. We arrived about 7pm and they were busy, but it only took about 10 minutes to be seated. We ordered fairly quickly and then waited for over 50 minutes to have an appetizer to reach our table and another 25 minutes for our main dish. By the time we received our appetizer the restaurant had only 5-6 tables with people still sitting. We understand that it takes a little longer for a deep dish pizza, but well over an hour in unacceptable. In the 50 minutes we saw no less than a dozen or so orders go out the door for pickup orders. I understand they sell pizza and there is likely a large amount of business that doesn't come an stay to eat, but we felt forgotten. If we choose to go back, maybe we should order before arriving.“

“We had such a great dinner at Bistro Moulin! The restaurant is quaint with an inviting but relaxed vibe, and the service felt intentional and personal. The food was delicious! We had a reservation and were seated immediately. We ordered the caesar salad, spinach gnocchi, fish of the day and filet mignon. Everything was fresh, reasonable portion sizes, and super flavorful. The fish was one of the best dishes I’ve had in a while! The filet was cooked perfectly and the peppercorn sauce on top was so good. For dessert we had the mousse special and it was insane. Wine selection was also on point! The owner was our server and he was so nice and attentive. We’re just visiting, but we’d definitely return! Highly recommend for a great meal while in Monterey!“

Top Pizza in Monterey. Margherita Pizza and Pesto Chicken are excellent. Great selection of beer and wine - mixed drinks too.
