“Recently, I learned of Cultiva and Cali Caffeine, and that there would be a Sunday vegan brunch happening once a month in San Juan Bautista. My wife is vegan, and I love vegan food, so we decided to take a Sunday drive and check out the brunch offerings! Upon arriving, we quickly came to realize that space is super limited inside. There’s really just one spot right inside the door. There were two tables out in front, however it was raining and that wasn’t going to work for us. We did eye one other table inside, and they quickly cleared it off and were super willing to accommodate us, especially since we mentioned we had come down from San Jose in the rain, and had been looking forward to the experience. After looking at photos online, it’s possible there might be a patio in the back, but again, my guess is it would be weather permitting. Just a heads up to plan accordingly when coming here, as space is limited. Rafael operates the Cali Caffeine part of the business, and right away he made me a very tasty vanilla americano, and my wife had a specialty latte made with oatmilk. Super good and paired wonderfully with our food. Maria operates Cultiva, and is the chef and prepares the food. She was so warm and welcoming, and she made us some of the best vegan dishes we’ve had outside of our own home. We ordered three items and shared: Waffle - Banana Brulee, Cinnamon, Maple Syrup Chilaquiles - House Red Sauce, Corn Chips, Crema, Onion, Queso Fresco Milanesas with Famous Mom’s Macaroni Salad - rice & mushroom medley “steak” milanesas paired with creamy, flavorful macaroni salad In addition to the above, we also got to try a side of spicy garlic potatoes, with chipotle sauce, spring onions, and arugula. The food was incredible and the flavors were delectable! Everything was made with thought and care, and it truly came through in every bite. We are so glad we took the drive out and met these wonderful people, ate some delicious food, and had an amazing experience. Can’t wait to come back again. Thank you so much Maria and Rafael!“

“We love this place! 🍧 Such a cute little family-owned shop with the best Hawaiian vibes. The shaved ice is SO good, and they also have coffee and ice cream, which is perfect because there’s something for everyone.

The family that owns it is seriously the sweetest and always so warm and welcoming. We’ve actually started making it a weekly tradition to stop by with the kids for shaved ice after school, and it’s become one of our favorite little things to do together. ❤️

“We have been coming here for years and our experience has always been wonderful. To start with, when you arrive, you are seated immediately. Menus have many delicious options for Vietnamese food, and one thing I personally recommend is the #50. Portions here are large and we are satisfied every time we come here. Their ambiance here is okay and though this place can feel old and rundown at certain times.

In addition, along with the normal sodas, they have a few shakes though last time I went recently they didn’t have boba. Service here is great and usually doesn’t take long though employees can be a bit hard to understand sometimes due to their accents. Prices here are pretty reasonable, especially with the portions you get and restrooms, while not the cleanest, are fine.“

“Picked up food to go last year and it was really good. So happy that we found this place again! Ordered garlic parm and spicy fried chicken wing plates, lemongrass chicken and beef meatball pho. Also ordered strawberry and melon boba milk tea and Vietnamese coffee with egg cream. Food and drinks came out quickly. Customer service was great. It was so good that we ate and drank everything! We will definitely come here again when we’re in the area.“

“All food we ordered was amazing… It actually looked so good we wanted to take pictures but didn’t because we just enjoyed it. 😊 Our party ordered the rooster sandwich with sweet potato fries, onion rings, garlic, fries, wings, and a pepperoni pizza. We all shared because it was so good! Highly recommend from two adults and two teen / high school boys with big appetites! Great atmosphere and service as well.“

“Really good food including their fried rice, chow fun, shrimp balls, Peking duck and more. Portions are large too and as for seating, it’s ample. Service is kind and fast and the interior of the place has a lot of art and some Eastern design though can sometimes feel dirty or old. There’s also a big TV which plays a variety of content. Restrooms are okay and prices are reasonable, considering portions also.“

“Second time going here. It’s the employees who make it a good place to be. We don’t live here or else we would go here often. Isabel, our waitress was suuuuper friendly. She tended to my wife and baby girl for her 2nd birthday. She made it special. She even put our leftovers in separate containers, cleaned up before and after and during our meal, brought chocolates. “I had the fried tempura plate, which came with a nice combination of shrimp tempura and fried vegetables. The tempura was golden, crispy, and flaky with every bite, and the vegetables were well-balanced and not overly fried.
The soup that accompanied the meal was delightful, light and not over-seasoned. The rice was fresh and well prepared. Overall, I really enjoyed the food, the welcoming atmosphere, and the excellent, friendly staff.

“Called in last minute to make reservation, was so nice to get the table ready for me within 40 minutes for 7 people.
Ordered pho, shaking beef, banh xeo, and others that I could not remember. Their pho was good, big portion and full of meat. Unfortunately the sirloin was overcooked and the other parts of the meat have too much fats in them, so it was down on the score.
Their shaking beef was also meh, very thin and overly sweet, probably not their strongest dish. Banh xeo was full of meat and fillings, but not particularly crispy. All in all, it was tasty but only lacking a bit here and there. Their service was pretty good though. Their restaurants are also huge, which is a plus.“
