thank god finally a wonderful latte! carmel next town over has horrendous coffee so this was a breath of fresh air
Grabbed some pull-apart cinnamon bread, blueberry muffins, and light roast drip coffee. Everything was delicious. Be prepared to get there early so they don’t sell out and a potential line. If you have time, the seating area in the back is worth it yo relax for a few.
Truly a place you never forget! Both food and coffee are excellent and the environment is stunning. The owner is very kind and hospitable to everyone. Highly recommend!
Went there three days of the five of our vacation. Tried the avocado toast, focaccia (two different flavors), croissant sando, coffee and tea. Could not give enough stars for quality and taste. Planning the next trip just to come here.
Cappuccino tastes nice! The bakery had a nice variety of unique items too. The garden is beautifully maintained and adds to the charm.
Best bakery in Monterey, hands down!!! Must go... you won't be disappointed. Highly recommend trying the avocado toast.
Savory milk bun, chia pudding, housemade chai all great. Outdoor seating area is lovely. Dog friendly! :)
Read about this spot on many Monterey travel blogs and glad we stopped here. The “obligatory avocado toast” really is obligatory. Not only is it a gorgeous presentation, but the kumquat compliments the avocado so well. The tuna melt was also very good, as well as their homemade chai. We did not try any of the baked goods so we can’t speak on them, but the offerings were very aesthetically pleasing
Following a recommendation of a local, we landed on this little bakery, where they really know their craft. It’s more of a takeaway bakery, and it was fairly crowded when we’ve been there on a Friday around 11am.
The employees are super friendly and have an honest smile in their face, which is amazing to see in a world we’re too many “just sort of do their job”.
Do I have any clear recommendation what to take? No, because you can’t go wrong with anything they have.
It is definitely a local favorite. We have eaten at this bakery three times in our three day visit. If you can try the blue corn cookie, it truly is awesome.

Incredible coffee combined with great pastries makes for a delectable experience in the heart of Downtown Monterey. What blessings more do you seek?
Stunning - enchanting - engaging
Chocolate cake — properly deliciously moist. White chocolate mousse — so well balanced, with the raspberries and some textural chocolate chunk topping, not too sweet, just right. Coffee — dark roast, bold, rich, fantastic. This is a great spot, no wonder there was a line! Watch out as many things were sold out by 3-ish.
Long wait was worth it. Coffee is great, pastries are excellent. Just wish they had vegan options!
I’m obsessed with this place! It’s a must when I’m in Monterey. The line can get quite long, but moves steadily.
Their watermelon mint matcha drink is something unique, refreshing, and delicious. The pistachio croissant was so good! And the space itself (inside and out) is something to experience.
