Their matcha with lavender syrup was delicious. Had it with some avocado toast which I would also recommend!

It is an insanely cute cafe! All of the pastries look like works of art. They have a nice outdoor seating area. Their matcha was really good. It was just that they needed another cash register to get the line moving faster.

I absolutely loved this place! All of their toasts, muffins, and desserts were excellent: fresh, flavorful, and beautifully made. The house chai was outstanding, and the coffee of the month was delicious as well. The atmosphere is charming and relaxed, perfect for enjoying a slow morning. Definitely a spot I’ll be coming back to!

This cute little bakery was recommended to us and it did not disappoint! We were there right after 11 so they were starting to bring out lunch items too and WOW! The selection, the quality and presentation was splendid and made we wish we were getting both breakfast amd lunch. We tried the maple bacon roll, cinnamon pull part, chocolate croissant and blue corn cookies. My personal faves were the maple bacon with the sage on it and blue corn cookie. So interesting and different, and delicious. We also got a variety of hor beverages and my cousin highly recommended the orange cardamom syrup in her latte. We ate outside on the patio and the space was lovely. Will visit again!

I’m sorry I wanted to give them 5 stars because I had heard good things. The service was not good, the food was subpar and overpriced, staff wasn’t friendly or overly helpful. Maybe it was just an off day but I won’t be going back.

Delicious food, beautiful setting, great service.
My family went after a disappointing morning at a coffee shop where all the pastries and food items were sold out. We were starving and stumbled upon Alta. Immediately, we were impressed by the beautiful display of pastries and the most delicious looking sandwiches. We tried the blue corn cookies which were shockingly buttery, chewy, and the corn flavor was reminiscent of cornbread in a lighter form. The carrot cake cookies used currants instead of raisins and were delightful! So soft, chewy, and cake like! The chocolate chip cookie used a browned butter, so you got a nutty undertone to the chocolate and balanced out the sweetness perfectly. I can’t recommend the sandwiches enough! So much bang for your buck with high quality ingredients. You could taste the care the bakers put into each item and coffee as SOLID. We were so impressed that we made sure to come back before leaving town the next morning and recommended it to all of our family and friends. We’ll be repeat customers any time we’re in Monterey!

I ordered two cakes for my wedding, and Ben truly went above and beyond. From the moment we connected, he poured so much care into making something special for us. Both cakes were absolutely beautiful — elegant, thoughtful, and delicious. I’m so grateful to Ben for helping make our wedding day even more memorable.
If you are also in the area for breakfast, pastries, and even dinner, the bakery and restaurant are also excellent places to stop by.

Parking spot is hard to come by! We came here yesterday after fishermen grotto to pack some snacks for 17 miles drive around 12 noon. We didn't need coffee because we had coffee elsewhere but there bakery option was so disappointing. Got whatever was available and didn't know what to get. So I got banana bread and so mushroom on toast.whats worst They had a fly 🪰 around the bakery so then I lost my appetite. Overall this place is all hype online.

I thought this place was overpriced and just okay. I got the “obligatory avocado toast” and it looked better than it tasted. The avocado component tasted like guacamole on a piece of toast—heavy on the salt and lime, with almost a whipped consistency. I believe that avocado toast should be slightly chunky, with olive oil instead of lime. The best part about it was the sourdough, followed by the kumquats which were a nice touch. However $16 for a small toast I expect to be impressed, and I can’t say I was here.
I also tried an orange cardamom coffee. It tasted like a regular latte—flavor was pleasant but almost nonexistent. Lastly I tried the ginger cake. It lacked flavor, but was coated in a sugar crust that made it extremely sweet. I did like the pomegranate seeds on top.
Overall, I would not return. The outdoor seating area is nice.
