We went thinking we'd once before eaten there. We were wrong. The place has a funky feel.
If you are gluten free, I would not eat here despite the gf options. I ordered the gf pasta aglio e olio and my friend ordered the same dish regular (non-gf). My dish came out with about 1/3 to 1/2 the amount of food as hers. When we asked the waiter, he said that the chef does it all by weight and there was no mistake. For $30, it was an absolutely unacceptable amount of food. Even the server acknowledged it was a very small portion but there was nothing he or anyone could do other than for me to order more food at full cost. I make gf pasta at home, and it couldn’t have been more than a third of a box of pasta at most. They don’t upcharge for their gf pasta, but I would much rather a $5 or some upcharge and get a normal amount of food than be told I have to order another $30 dish to get a comparable amount of food as non-gluten free diners.
I and my husband went yesterday (04/27) for dinner. The food was ok, service was really good, maybe because there was only two tables with clients. We had beets salad, papardelle with shrimp and mushrooms and tiramisu as dessert. We woke up in the middle of the night vomiting and having diarrhea. We couldn’t sleep anymore because of nausea, vomit, diarrhea and such strong headache. Horrible experience! Don’t recommend to our worst enemy! For sure, we had food poisoning from eating at Cibo.
Good food and service, however, I had a disappointing experience. I accidently dropped my expensive glasses on the floor when I got up to leave. I left around 9 p.m. (near closing). I called numerous times the next morning, sent e-mails, waited more than an hour for them to open the next day (and they opened late), and no sunglasses. No return call from the manager, or return e-mails. It was quite frustrating. Given the value of the glasses, I would have appreciated a more thorough search or some effort to assist me in locating them. This incident left a sour taste in what could have been a pleasant experience. I will not be back but hope the restaurant can improve its customer service for others.
Amazing food. Great service. And a good atmosphere!!!!!!😎
Great location. Very good food and service. We enjoyed a nice mid week dinner. The calamari was next level and they had excellent wine choices.
The bar area was very alive which makes for a cool lively feel in the restaurant.
Would definitely recommend!
Great dinner and music 😍. Good waiter and drinks were extra good ❤️
Authentic, quality, flavorsome Italian fare. Highly recommend

I'm disappointed that at 8:41 p.m., they don't serve food. Came from the Bay Area for dinner

A party of 10-12 (rehearsal night??) was seated in the main dining room with the other customers. They yelled, screamed, chanted, etc. so loud that our party of 29, seated at three takes, was unable to converse with anyone except the person immediately to their right or left. The staff allowed them to continue through the entire dinner, never addressing the concern. Using a phone decibel meter, they frequently pushed 100 dbl.

The best Italian restaurant you can find in Monterey, authentic. (Not as good as in Italy but it’s close enough than the rest there)

Even though it was fairly dead, service was slow. The food was ok but not great. With so many other great restaurants in the area, I would not go back.
