Crab Louie's Bistro

The food was terrible. I ordered a $30 lobster roll plate, but there was barely any lobster in the hot dog bun it came on. The clam chowder didn’t taste fresh. If you’re looking for good, fresh food, this is not the place. My husband’s $25 salad had only five small shrimp and was basically just bagged salad. Our son’s cheeseburger was tiny, overcooked, and mostly bun. We spent $166 for four plates and four drinks—definitely not worth it. We would have been better off at McDonald’s. This is nowhere near a fine dining experience!

This place lies about pricing. The menu outside shows prices that are much cheaper than what you actually pay. Nobody said anything about a different menu if you sit inside or outside (which shouldn't effect a menu change). The reason we came there was we liked the prices and the owner came out and offered us free calamari and soup. My fish tacos advertised as $13.95 came out to $27.95 because the calamari was added and they charged me. It came with 5 pieces and wasn’t very good. Not to mention my girlfriends shrimp cocktail which had nothing with it aside from plain cabbage. She couldn't eat it as the texture was bad and flavors boring. The waitress did nothing to explain the prices and was not friendly. This is no way to get customers and I'm never going back.

The food was pretty bland- clam chowder was ok. Don’t be fooled by the prices it’s double to eat inside and they don’t even ask if you want to eat inside or outside… we got told to follow the waiter who proceeded to take us inside (not informing us of price changes) we ended up paying $90 for a meal that would’ve been 40ish outside. Oh and the waitress was not very kind.. she made you feel very rushed. She took our plates immediately actually no my partner wasn’t even done eating when she asked if he was done. She was also clearly bothered that we didn’t eat a dish due to the slimy texture of it. When we asked her about the high price compared to what we originally saw she rudely said yeah that’s outside prices.

Rude for no reason.

Absolute trash . Decided to grab a quick bite & I ordered water and my boyfriend ordered a michelada. The lady drops the olives from the michelada , picks them up and then makes it seem like she went back and got new ones. No she came back with a plate of the olives with hair ALL over them . The same ones that fell on the ground . She did not get fresh new ones ! She just re used the ones from the outside floor !!! Also VERY over priced. 4 chicken tenders + fries , a michelada and a plate with shrimp and crab cake was $70 not even worth it ! Lastly one of the cookes was standing outside PICKING HIS NOSE . Worst experience ever . Don’t come here , don’t waste your money

The clam chowder was okay. Wasn’t the worst but also wasn’t the best. I got the French toast for my toddler & she didn’t even touch it. The French toast was soggy & had a weird chewy texture.

The total came out to almost $60?!!! Ridiculous. 1 clam chowder bread bowl, 1 cup of clam chowder & French toast. Craaazzzyyyy, don’t think I’ll be returning.

I had an amazing dining experience at Crab Louie’s Bistro! From the moment I walked in, I was greeted with warm, friendly customer service that made me feel truly welcome. The staff was attentive, courteous, and made sure everything was perfect throughout my meal. The inviting atmosphere, combined with excellent service, made for a wonderful visit. I highly recommend this place to anyone looking for great food and a welcoming environment. Can’t wait to come back!

Kid-friendliness: They were very accommodating and even brought us an extra high chair from next door.

Fantastic Experience at Crab Louie’s!

We had an amazing time at Crab Louie’s in Monterey’s Fisherman’s Wharf! Our server, Donald, did a fabulous job—attentive, friendly, and made our dining experience even better. The food was delicious, and the cocktails were outstanding.

The entire staff was welcoming and accommodating, and they were incredibly pet-friendly, making our fur baby, Bella, feel right at home. It’s not always easy to find a place that truly values both its customers and their pets, but Crab Louie’s exceeded our expectations.

We highly recommend this spot and will definitely be back!

After reading the other reviews, we too got scammed by the “wrong check”. Our real bill was $78 and we received a bill for $124. After asking for an itemized bill the waiter took awhile to produce a correct bill. The waiter apologized for the mix up because it was busy. There were only 2 other tables aside from ourselves. DO NOT GET SCAMMED WITH THE WRONG BILL.

As an owner you should be ashamed of yourself for allowing your patrons to be scammed.

I was there on 12.25.2024 I had a horrible experience I did not look at prices. It came out too $304.95 receipt given to me was not itemized the person tried arguing with me that
he had given me my order correctly he would not listen. I did not realize he was shorting me 100.00 dollars. when I went back he finally showed me itemized receipt at register he tried to act like no big deal all he said was sorry did not make it right my family was waiting for a long time kids were very hungry. Will never go back to Crab Louie's. I come to visit my parent's often in the Monterey peninsula.

We decided to eat here on our day trip to Monterey, and we surely don’t regret it. As soon as we came in we were welcomed warmly and the ambience of the restaurant was very welcome. We were sat and ordered. As our food was being made, the owner personally gave us free appetizers, 2 bowls of clam chowder and a plate of calamari, on the house. Our food arrived very quickly, and tasted amazing. The salmon Alfredo and fish tacos were amazing, and the owner accommodated to our dietary needs. Overall our visit was amazing, and food was so good we wouldn’t mind if they raised their prices. We would 100% come again.

I was looking for clam chowder in sourdough bread. We got a really good view, clean bathroom. We ordered the clam chowder and calamari, everything was delicious and the service was great!
