Pricing felt consistent with Monterey sushi restaurants (around $3.50 per nigiri), and our food was fresh and well-prepared. As with any restaurant, experiences can vary, but we enjoyed our meal

One of the worst sushi experiences I’ve ever had. The rolls fell apart, were bland, and had more vegetables than salmon. Slow service, and $75 for 10 nigiri portions (2 pieces each). A total bill of $240 for 6 people after barely eating anything. All the positive reviews you see refer to the previous management, which changed in 2024. It would have been hard to do worse than this

Service was not good. Waited 30 minutes for appetizer, drinks weren't refilled, anytime there was a request made for something extra, i.e we asked for straws and napkins, it seemed as though we were a major inconvenience. The food was spectacular and absolutely delicious!

Love this place! The food and the service is always fantastic! My favorite item is the pork ton katsu that comes with salad, miso soup and rice!
Sushi and gyoza is great here. The seating arrangement is a bit crowded but otherwise a decent atmosphere.

Unpretentious but amazing. I got the sushi dinner. 8 kinds of raw fish, all the freshest I've ever had. Six stars. Only reason I spent over 50 is because I also got an appetizer, the Japanese KFC, which was tempura breaded.

Horrible sushi — literally. I’ve been here before (about two years ago) and decided to treat myself again, but this experience was extremely disappointing. The sushi was not fresh and had almost no flavor. For a $60 pickup order, it was absolutely not worth it. On top of that, when I asked for extra wasabi at pickup, the front desk person told me I already had some in my order instead of just adding a little more. If a customer asks for something simple, just do it. I won’t be coming back.

I got a to-go order on 12/1/25 and one of the items was Dragon Ball Z, an appetizer. Upon eating with my friend, she discovered a bug in the dish as seen in the picture. This was extremely disappointing as both of us really like this place.
We returned back to the restaurant and gave the item back. They did offer to make it again, but it was hard to get back in the mood and we declined. Later when we returned, we tossed the remaining of the food as well. Likely just a mistake but I regard Crystal Fish with high standards and as seen by so many reviews, they are a good establishment. So, this happening was quite disappointing. I hope they are more careful next time.
