Excellent food and experience. We worked with Viviana to cater a 50+ person party, and she exceeded our expectations! Not only was the food delicious and a hit at the party, but Viviana took the time to let us sample each option, delivered the food to our location, helped us set up the food, and was great at communicating. We will definitely get catering from Demetra again! If you haven’t had their food, check them out!

Chicken shawarma and the lamb/beef gyro (especially the lamb!) were delicious—everything seasoned well (especially the tzatziki), and the falafels were a beautiful texture.

The real star of this review though was the gentleman who helped us: Richard (the one working the night of this review). He was very kind as he walked us through all the offerings. I always appreciate a member of any team that not only knows their product but is also happy to describe them and perhaps even boast about them. Thank you!

Amazing food... the kids love the lentil soup, too

Our original plan was to stop somewhere in Carmel for lunch, but ended up having to keep going when we couldn't find a parking spot. By the time we reached this place my blood sugar was crashing hard and I was starting to feel sick and light headed. So thank goodness we ended up here. The food was great and there was no wait. I was able to shovel desperately needed hot Greek food into my face less than 10 minutes after we walked in. The chicken and hummus were particularly good.

I came with my husband and son and daughter-in-law and 2 grandsons.

I wasn't sure about mediterranean food. I am a very picky eater. I was so happy and satisfied. Everything was so fresh and DELICIOUS!

Our party enjoyed all the standard dishes and some specialty items as well: Tzatziki and Hummus, served with warm, fluffy pita for dipping. Falafel, Chicken Shawarma, Chicken Kabob, Ultimate Vegan Delight. All of the sauces were so tasty too. My husband loved the Morrocan Mint Tea.

The best for me was the Baklava--flaky and rich with nuts and honey and a hint of rose mmmmmmmmmmm

All of the staff were for friendly and helpful. The place was very clean and fresh and bright.

Five stars, easily. I have a new favorite on my list - we'll be back! I wish I would have taken more photos.

A Delicious Discovery at Dametra Fresh in Monterey
Walking into Dametra Fresh Mediterranean, we were greeted with the aroma of grilled meats, warm spices, and baked pita—an instant promise of something special. The atmosphere was clean, casual, and inviting, perfect for a relaxed but satisfying meal.

We started with a spread of Tzatziki and Hummus, both rich and flavorful. The pita was warm and pillowy—exactly how it should be. The Falafel offered a nice crunch with a soft, herbed interior that didn’t disappoint.

Our table quickly filled with Mediterranean classics. The Chicken Shawarma was tender and well-seasoned, while the Chicken Kabob had that smoky, grilled finish that made each bite better than the last. The real surprise was the Ultimate Vegan Delight—vibrant, hearty, and layered with fresh ingredients that made it anything but an afterthought.

For dessert, we couldn’t skip the Baklava. It was buttery and sweet with just the right amount of crunch—an indulgent way to finish the meal.

Service was quick and friendly, and the kitchen clearly takes pride in what they serve. Whether you're eating in or grabbing something fresh on the go, Dametra Fresh is a true standout. We’ll absolutely be back. Five stars!

We had an unforgettable lunch at Dametra Restaurant in Carmel-by-the-Sea. We started with the Dametra Royal Combo and Grilled Jumbo Prawns — both appetizers were bursting with flavor and beautifully presented. For the main course, we enjoyed the Lamb Shank, which was fall-off-the-bone tender and deeply satisfying.

To top off the experience, we had the pleasure of meeting Bashar, the gracious and charismatic owner. His hospitality made us feel right at home, and his passion for food shines through every dish. He even surprised us with Baklava on the house, a sweet and thoughtful gesture that sealed the perfect meal.

From the warm ambiance to the phenomenal Mediterranean flavors, this place is a true gem. Highly recommended — we’ll definitely be back!

If you have taste buds then this isnt the place for you! This is some of the most bland and disgusting food we’ve ever eaten. We didn’t receive 3 sauces that we ordered and the sauce we did get was the incorrect one. Genuinely this was horrible all around. When the food was picked up by my husband not a word was spoken to him by the staff. Please don’t go here unless you enjoy wasting money and not having any flavor in your food.

First of all, when you search for halal restaurants in Monterey on Google, this place shows up — but unfortunately, their meat is not halal. We only found that out after arriving.

Since we’re in town for just two days and didn’t have time to search for other options, we decided to order the falafel. We paid nearly $20 for the plate you see in the photo — just 2 falafel pieces and a lot of salad.

Very disappointing experience overall.
