The view was excellent. The food was excellent. We got to see otters and pelicans while we ate ,beautiful sailing ships going in and out of the harbor. It was a lovely lovely experience and we would highly recommend it to friends and family.
This used to be my favorite restaurant in Monterey, but this last visit the food was mediocre and the service was subpar. For the amount paid for food, it should be much better than it was.
Domenico's on the Wharf has great views of the harbor. However, we were a bit underwhelmed by the experience. We were seated quickly, and our server was helpful with our questions, but later in the meal, he was arguing with the table behind us, which took away from the experience. I was craving crab legs, but the $150 price tag for a pound was more than I wanted to spend for the dish. On the recommendation of our server, I opted for the Petrale Sole Meunière, and my husband had the Sea Bass special. Both dishes were light and flavorful, and had a similar taste. I enjoyed the Blue Cheese Iceberg Wedge, and the shrimp cocktail was decent. Their pineapple cocktail was delicious. Overall, it was a good meal.
As always, the food and service were exceptional. We were seated a bit early and our two young children were welcomed, they behaved well and it couldn't have been a better outcome. Thank you Team Domenico's. I live in Monterey but hosted guests from Washington State. They were very impressed and we look forward to coming back the next time they are in town.
Great dinner and beautiful views. The service is flawless and everyone is so kind an friendly.
What a fabulous restaurant. From our welcome greeting to goodbye we loved it. The cuisine is special, service outstanding. Talking with the owner Sam was a pleasure and we look forward to next year's visit.
This restaurant was beautiful and the menu made it easy for our non-seafood eating guests. They have a lot of options and were willing to make adjustments for our gluten-free guest. Everything came to the table hot and delicious and our waiter was very attentive and friendly. We had a window table which was amazing as we had sea lions and otters just below us the entire time. My favorite item on the menu is the artichoke with balsamic!
Everyone was so nice and personable! Food was excellent. We are from a small fishing village and now quality ! View was perfect
We enjoyed a wonderful dinner last night. The wedge salad was outstanding - delicious dressing. The clam chowder was the best we have ever had. Our entrees were lobster ravioli, sand dabs, and salmon - all delicious. The service was very attentive and the view out the window of boats and water was fun. We will return soon!
Fantastic experience! Lovely setting! Server provided excellent recommendations! Would love to come back again!

Only good part of our experience was the view of the marina. Food was Ok. Wedge salad was far from famous. Clam chowder was so-so. Sardines & bread were best of what we ordered. My wife has an onion allergy which was noted on initial reservation and we discussed with server upon arrival. After waiting 40 minutes for our food the server delivered 2 of the 5 entrees and informed us that the entree my wife ordered had onion in it so she would need to order something else. Not trusting the chef or the restaurant's handling of allergies she ordered a cheeseburger. Another 20 minutes later a burger with no cheese arrived. We asked the food runner for the cheese and after delivering food to two other tables we had to ask again for the cheese. The server finally delivered the cheese and finally asked how our meal was. Any guests with allergies beware. Staff appears to more concerned with turning tables v creating guest hospitality.
Had date night there and everything was wonderful. Staff is friendly and service was timely. I would recommend
Hands down the best restaurant i’ve ever eaten at. We ordered Oysters on the half shell, we got a coupon for a free calamari appetizer and we settled on the King crab ravioli and the fish tacos as meals. Both were absolutely delicious. The food quality is unmatched and the drinks were so good. If i could eat here every day i swear I would. Our servers were super attentive and very quick with our orders. Best dining experience ever. 10/10 if you’re looking for a great and unmatched dining experience complete with a gorgeous view of the ward, this is the place to go!
The 2 best dishes were the chippino and chicken marsala. The fish and chips wasn't crunchy enough, pasta capri and alfredo were ok. The clam chowder was delicious.
Not pictured, calamari, oysters and oyster rockefeller, they were delicious.
The food is definitely not Italian. Bread and wine and view are good. Price is high for the food it offers but on the same time everything is expensive in Monterey.
