One of the more popular places in the new Monterey area. The fish tacos are a family favorite. The wait staff is always very friendly, helpful and accommodating to our family with picky habits.
Recommend as long as the wait is not too long.

We had such a great time at Hula’s! The tiki and surf vibe in the place is spot on. The food was amazing – I tried the catch of the day, ono fish (kind of like a tuna steak), and it was seriously delicious. The drinks all sounded super tempting too!

Terrible all around. If you check their recent reviews you’ll notice they’re more negative than before. Servers have attitudes, food is mediocre at best, and everything is super expensive. Looking forward to the day this place goes out of business.

I went there after my visit to the aquarium and was so happy with all the vegetarian options on the menu that I had to come back the next day to try another dish. Had the Kona Bowl with tofu the first time and the veggie burger the second time, both were great. Would have gone there a 3rd time if I had stayed for 3 days in Monterey
Flavorful food with nice atmosphere. Jerk chicken is good level of spicy and mahi mahi is very fresh. Try order fish of the day and you will not disappointed

Generous portion for fish tacos.
But the shrimp roll appetizer tasted bland, and its dipping sauce was passable. The coconut cake was great but the cream cheese frosting was weirdly extremely salty (ok with me because I like sweet and salty, but I don’t think it was meant to be salted caramel level of salty).
