Another dirty middle eastern market that is in dire need of cleaning as well as doing inventory on merchandise that has already expired. The owner isn't very nice and became irritated when I mentioned some of the items had expired. The food she prepares is also something I personally would not recommend. Many middle eastern markets and restaurants do not maintain a very sanitary environment this market this market fits that profile and I wouldn't purchase anything from this business.

A pound of loose leaf Ceylon tea for less than $10. Lots of goodies, including an impressive selection of middle eastern dairy and bread products. Friendly service.

Unfortunately, there are not that many Mediterranean/ Middle Eastern Markets in Monterey atea. I come from Southern California where there are ample Mediterranean supermarket but at least this place offers some Mediterranean goodies not found in regular supermarkets. The owners are very nice.
The fresh Baklava is delicious

Lousy owner Gloria is rude and stingy over charges and have an attitude if you even ask for a bag or plastic utensils. She lacks basic customer service and is very greedy every item is overpriced and she over charges and give you a hard time of you pay using credit card as she would tell you she had to pay a charge for the card which she tries to avoid making the customer uncomfortable
Bad services, they don’t open on time and and sell expired items and say we save the world of wasting food. The lady was arguing with me and saying the food even if it’s expired is still fine and can be consumed. This store needs to be inspected by the authorities.

My family and I are religiously strict went it comes to looking for halal places to eat. Alhamdulillah we found this place because the meat is zabiha halal. We had the chicken shwarmas and cheescake which was decent. The restaurant is nice and clean, and the bathrooms are okay too. The market itself is about 3 blocks away from the restaurant. Parking is a hassle during the weekends.

Nice hole in the wall market with great prices and unique products! We enjoyed the Turkish delights, Turkish coffee, gyros and non-alcoholic malts.
The lady running the store, Crystal, was very kind, informative and friendly. Be sure to stop by for any snacks and advice if you’re touring the area!
If you’d like a sit-down restaurant, a few blocks down there’s a sister store with equal prices, called International Café.

It's a delightfully stuffed market full of food items that take you to far away places. It enticed me to buy and make, or try new foods. A dried Pistachio desert, snack and Mediterranean flat breads are two of my favorite finds. They also have a small deli with falafel or lamb wraps and a couple sides you can add on that are reasonably priced and delicious. I usually just take it to go (really not much but 2 chairs and small table in front of store if you opt to eat there) better option is to walk or drive to the beach and eat it there and take in a gorgeous day with a view. I'll add photos next time I visit.

This market is a great place to get some middle eastern groceries that can be harder to find. A great selection. They also make really delicious food that is made to order, but still quick and very delicious. And, very conveniently, they have a great selection of vegan options on the menu, including falafel, bread, hummus, baba ganoush, salads, lentil stew, and stuffed grape leaves.
