REALLY really LOUD1 Huge party in the bar whooping it up, and obnoxious dog yapping in the atrium. Maybe the noisiest dinner I've ever experienced in my life. So loud it distracted from the food, and made it very difficult to enjoy the evening with friends.
We had a prime rib dinner tonight at Jack's. We were celebrating a special event. Our server was very attentive. The dinner was very good! We had a Wedge Salad and a cup of Clam chowder and of course, the prime rib. Initially the prime rib came out medium (we ordered MR). Izabelle, not our server, overheard us talking and came over to say she would bring us out another piece. How nice was that? She was not even our server and wanted to make our experience a good one. Jack's is conveniently located in the Portola Hotel, which is centrally located to Monterey's Fisherman's Wharf, downtown Monterey and short drive or longer walk to the Cannery and Monterey Bay Aquarium. The restaurant is open in the Portola Hotel atrium and serves excelent food with great service.
