Stopped in with my daughter looking for a gluten free baked treat and was excited to talk with a very friendly employee who showed us a case full of various gluten free goodies. We got a GF cinnamon roll with frosting to go. After my daughter ate it a few hours later, she said it was dry and didn't taste good, but she ate it anyway because it was GF and expensive. Not terribly long after, she started experiencing nausea and vertigo. We are thinking possibly food poisoning? Heading to the doctor now and will update if this assumption is incorrect, but didn't want anyone else to experience the same if we could help it.

Not honest with pricing. Purchased two pretzel for $22.40 and the receipt was not itemize.

Decent cinnamon rolls but overpriced considering the size. Small interior so not ideal for sitting in. Convenient location near Monterey Aquarium and downtown. Quick service since cinnamon rolls are ready to be served.

Awful. I wish I would have looked at the reviews first since this would have saved me time and money. We went in because the kids wanted one. They were dry and crumbly, like they were days old. Not worth the calories. Not great flavor. Save yourself and keep walking.

Cinnamon rolls...definitely not their specialty. Food items in their glass display were definitely not aesthetically appealing. Food items looked days old, dry and almost fake. It is not my intention to tear down a business, but it is important to keep future customers well and accurately informed. Service ok. For a cinnamon roll place, I was very disappointed.

They have a wonderful selection of gluten free items and took the time to show me. Got a gluten free cinnamon roll and it was delicious. I chose to get it without the frosting but it is available as an option if you want it. They warmed the roll for me as well.

SO glad I didn't eat this cake pop when I bought it lastnight...very disappointing. Clearly not fresh whatsoever

I can kind of see why it gets a poor rating, if you're the type of customer who doesn't pay attention. We noticed at the end of the day they looked a little dry (which, fair) so we were chatting with the friendly servers and they told us some of the combos people had ordered. We chose toppings that would add moisture: maple syrup (the real stuff!), apple compote, almonds, and icing, and once they nuked it (yeah, so what? It's a legitimate heating method), it was AMAZING. If you'd ordered it for dessert at a restaurant without seeing the prep, you wouldn't complain ?

When I arrived it took a few minutes for the 5 people working to notice I needed help, even though I was the only customer. While I waited I noticed that the frosted cinnamon rolls had frosting that had "broken" or was separated. I mentioned it to the young man helping me and he said that everything was "fresh...made today" and that it looked like that because it was warm in the shop and that it would be fine if he microwaved it. Now, for those of us that know baking and cooking, once a sauce, or in this case, a frosting is broken, there is nothing you can do, including putting it in the microwave. I humored him. I took a bite immediately after it came out to the microwave and it the frosting tasted grainy and greasy, oddly like a broken frosting. I asked for a different cinnamon roll, l had pointed out that all the 4-pack cinnamon rolls that were pre-packed had frosting that had not split/broke and that they har likely be sitting in the warm shop all day. He offered a pre-packed small frosting and said "here, I can offer you a frosting that was made properly." Oops, did he just admit he knew something was wrong with my roll?? I walked across the street to my wife waiting in the car, she took a bite and immediately spit it into a napkin...without me telling her what I had just experienced. When I got home (7mins later) I opened the frosting to find it was also splitting/broken.Whatever you do, do not buy their food. Total waste of money. So much for supporting small business. I will never return! For the record, I hardly ever write bad reviews because I usually believe that eventually it will catch up with them. I don't think so in this case for a few reasons, but had I looked at the reviews I would have never parked my car and got out to give them my business.BTW, I'm pretty sure I went to the store in 2018 and had a good experience...so, something has gone horribly wrong over time.

Too expensive for the quality and taste. They were on the dry side. Staff was friendly but would cross contaminate..... I would not return...

The servers were extremely friendly, and took a custom order for my strawberry and peach topped cinnamon roll. Great service. Cinnamon rolls are about 8.00 fine price for tourist place. The actual cinnamon roll was dry without much tastes. They do have a gluten free option

This place is awful. We are local and everything comes frozen and is warmed up. They even put a funnel cake in the microwave. I have tried the place 3 times hoping something would be good. I will not try this place again. Don't waste your money.

The cinnamon rolls are good. Maybe slightly on the dry side. They are kept in a separate area away from all the gluten items. My only complaint is that the establishment doesn’t honor their signage which has been up for years (looked at pics on Google 2022). There’s a list of all the rolls offered from regular to almond, gluten free & sugar free. At the very bottom it clearly states Family 4 Pack: Buy 4 Get 1 Free! The lady told me it was for “only” the regular rolls & pointed to other signs posted. Which said nothing about being only for “regular” rolls. So I told her. She then said it’s for the frosted & unfrosted ones. Which I said yeah & that’s how the gluten free ones are offered too. Frosted or unfrosted. I really tried but in the end I didn’t win. They really need to fix their sign if that’s the case. I felt somewhat ripped off & frankly discriminated cause I’m being penalized for having Celiac! The sign said what it said which includes gluten free rolls! I’m posting a picture below of their sign of false advertisement. I’m unsure if I’ll be going back. Went to Nece’s in the past & I think I prefer them better plus it’s a Dedicated Gluten Free Establishment
