Not a place for an Italian restaurant atmosphere, or exceptional personal service. Our server kept calling us “you guys”. The black cod of my date was dry, its piccata sauce was scant, but the Cajun spice was nice and the veggies were cooked nicely. My seafood linguine had ample salmon and medium shrimps, with 3 dry mussels and 3 small dry clams. The tomato cream sauce was nice, but I felt $65 for these 2 entrees was high. The best part was the green salad appetizer, nice Gorgonzola and walnuts .

We have been coming here for decades. Yesterday we came in and one young lady greeted us with a smile, but the other people at the host stand - nothing. We almost had to speak first. We get seated easily - we had a reservation - by a window - we always do - BUT, and this has been happening frequently lately and NEVER EVER used to, we were ignored for 10 minutes! There were 3 “workers” milling about. Why in the WORLD could they not have taken a drink order? Our waitress who was great, was busy delivering and organizing a large group as we sat. She explained this when she finally got to us and thanked us for our patience. However there were too many paid employees who could have gotten 3 iced teas. Easily. Had I been the owner and seen this? I would've been livid. I wonder if one of them was the manager! If so, really bad form. But what's interesting is, again we have becoming regularly to Louie's for decades. Never ever would we have been left like this as we have the last few times we've been. It's too bad. Most of us eat out for great food and great service - BOTH. We don't return if one is significantly deficient and this is a problem. Our waitress was terrific and very apologetic. I told her I'm dying of thirst and she got us our teas and took our order - the food was great - but no way should there be that many employees standing around ignoring a table of 3 when only 4 other tables were filled - the place was empty!!! You know the bartender had his back to the main corridor to the dining areas - also bad form - turn around and greet the clients coming in who pay your salary!! I guess I'm just so sad to see the deteriorating service. It's just sad. We were very concerned at how empty the restaurant was and Cannery Row was packed!!! Very telling.

A pleasant and nice place, with tasty and large dishes. If you come with the family, it’s not very cheap, but overall it’s a very nice place.

So my husband and I took a trip down to Monterey, it is so beautiful and peaceful. We decided to get dinner and chose this place. I must say the atmosphere is gorgeous, we were able to sit outside next to the beautiful water and watch boats and sea loins.

Very nice, we also had the best server his name was lucio I believe. However the food was quite disappointing, I ordered the linguine with clams with a side of crab meat , I was NOT IMPRESSED AT ALL, there was no flavor at all, the clams seemed not fresh whatsoever, and for 45 a plate I was expecting delicious food. My husband ordered the fisherman’s catch I believe, which was much more better than mines. However it wasn’t anything special either.

I was very disappointed with this place, the restaurant itself is beautiful, the service, beautiful, the atmosphere beautiful. The food was a 2/5 at best.

MEMORABLE indigestion: threw up all night after eating their cheap, Chuck E Cheese pizza.

🍝 Louie Linguini’s – Monterey Bay Views & Tourist Vibes 🌊

If you're cruising through Cannery Row and craving seafood with a view, Louie Linguini’s delivers on the scenery 🌅 good flavor.

🪑 Ambience:
Bright, beachy, and bustling. Great for groups or a casual date. The ocean views? Chef’s kiss. 👨‍🍳💋

🍤 Food:
The menu’s stacked with classics pasta, pizza, and seafood but don’t expect culinary wizardry. It’s more about comfort food with a coastal twist. The clam chowder? Decent. The linguini? Louie might’ve phoned it in. 📞🍽️

👨‍👩‍👧‍👦 Vibe:
Tourist-heavy, but friendly. Staff keeps things moving, and the place runs like a well-oiled gondola. 🚤

💸 Price:
A bit steep for the quality, but you’re paying for the location. Think of it as a meal with a view tax. 🧾🌅

📸 Pro Tip:
Grab a window seat, snap a pic, and enjoy the Monterey breeze while sipping something cold. 🍹📷

Location is great, amazing views.
Food is good to meh, depending on what your order. Pasta, fish and seafood were good. The calamari was especially tasty.
The Artichoke hearts were a huge disappointment, considering the price of the appetizer, no value, no taste, super small portion.
The service was good, although not very welcoming.

Our waitress Yessica was the best! Being a member of an Italian family, who owns a deli, I can say Louie Linguini’s has amazing food! This is definitely the place to go in Monterey.

Located in downtown Monterey, this restaurant has beautiful views of the pacific ocean. The food served is hot and delicious. We order the veggie and margaritas pizza, Alfredo fettuccine pasta, penne pomodoro pasta and tiramisu for dessert. The service was mostly fast, but we ended up waiting for long for the dessert.

Overall, we had a wonderful time at the restaurant!

Had the Shrimp Louie salad and a bowl of clam chowder. The views you get from the bay window are spectacular. Excellent place for Car Week.

Louis linguine is one of my favorite restaurants in Monterey! Great atmosphere and a great view. Very cool decor (old pictures and stories)
The food is ALWAYS amazing , and the service is on point! We had the lobster ravioli, which comes with a Petite salmon and two prawns. It was delicious!
The bar there makes some of the best drinks in Monterey! My dad never misses an opportunity to go there for a margarita!
