Not at all what it used to be:( It took 20min before a waitress even came to our table to take a drink order. It was not even crowded. The drinks were WAY overpriced & food was subpar~ We definitely will not be back.
We hadn't been to Monterey in a while, and we chose Louie Linguini's, and we were glad we did, even among all the Cannery Row eating choices.
Even on a Saturday night we were seated quickly and the service and attention by our server Matthew was flawless and very quick. We opted for a plate of fried calamari to start, and unlike some eateries we got both the tubes and the tentacles! -- others give you only the latter.
We enjoyed our cocktails -- the Pomegranate Cosmo and the Louie's Island (with a little bit of everything).
My companions enjoyed their Seafood Saute (with the shellfish), the Sicilian Seafood Linguini (with the spicy tomato sauce) and I thought my Blackened Rock Cod (with rice and capers) was terrific -- better than many versions in which the fish's seasoning lacks a little tang. This had it.
The atmosphere seems to be a combination of an Italian-style Rat Pack vibe and the old-school Monterey fishing tradition. We loved it and are already planning our next visit.

great service, terrible food. had clam chowder that had a foreign metal object in it. garlic fries were extremely oily, and chicken parm was bland & tasteless.
my dog loved the dog menu tho.

Prime location dining experience ruined by mediocre food and service.
If there is a definition for presentable yet most forgettable food and service in a fine dining establishment with such a gorgeous ocean view, this place nailed it!
My Crab Louie had a sprinkle of highly minced left over crab meat.
My clam chowder in a sourdough bowl was bland, barely filled a small cup, not a bowl, and the bread was probably the worst sourdough I have ever had.
The rest? Not even worth mentioning, they met the title on the menu, too bad I couldn't taste either.

I think our server was Cheryl? I couldn’t hear because it was busy. She was amazing to me and my 7 year old daughter. Service was quick too. It’s an ocean view place that’s absolutely kid friendly with a decent wine list and good food.

Really good food especially the garlic fries. The ambiance feels a little strange for a pasta place but overall a good spot for a meal.

HAD DINNER WITH MY DAUGHTER ON OUR TRIP TO MONTEREY, SHE HAD PASTA WITH SHRIMP AND I HAD THE CHICKEN AND PASTA SLIGHTLY COVERED WITH SPECIAL SAUCE. CHRIS WAS VERY HELPFUL WITH MY SITUATION AND WAS ABLE TO DIRECT HIMSELF TO MY CONCERNS.

We went there at 5:30 in the evening and it did not have much rush during that time.
The staff brought our food and even when we were not even half through the food she kept asking if we are done and wanted to pack it, not just once but thrice.
Felt very weird since none of the staffs were asking any other customers like that but just us.
The whole experience of the food was ruined for us.

This restruant was great, definitely needs a higher rating overall!
For starters the views are great at the window! Beautiful ocean. The restruant is also looks great!
The food though was very good! The Louie sampler was a good appetizer choice because everything on it was delicious (my favorite on it was the fried motterezlla.) My shrimp aurora was great aswell!
Our server was very kind and was just great overall!
Next time I'm near this area I will definitely come back.

Tourist trap, food is average at best. Service is the only good part, Jesus was friendly and enthusiastic. Poor value. Avoid.
Not a place for an Italian restaurant atmosphere, or exceptional personal service. Our server kept calling us “you guys”. The black cod of my date was dry, its piccata sauce was scant, but the Cajun spice was nice and the veggies were cooked nicely. My seafood linguine had ample salmon and medium shrimps, with 3 dry mussels and 3 small dry clams. The tomato cream sauce was nice, but I felt $65 for these 2 entrees was high. The best part was the green salad appetizer, nice Gorgonzola and walnuts .
Hostess sat us. Waited 15 minutes. No one came to take our drinks or order. Walked out.
