Monterey Bay Creamery is a great stop for a mid-afternoon treat while exploring the wharf. It’s not always warm enough in Monterey to crave ice cream, but when the midday sun hits, this spot is a perfect choice. The service is fast and friendly, and while there’s usually a line, it moves at a reasonable pace. The selection is solid, with plenty of classic and fun flavors to choose from. A great place to grab a sweet snack and enjoy the views of the pier!
Good milkshake.

We ordered two scoops for more than $8 so I would say definitely on the expensive side given it’s not really gelato. The price premium has to do with the location right on the Monterey pier.
We had the banana cream and chocolate peanut butter. Both are pretty good. We noticed they melt a bit faster than average ice cream in a chilly afternoon (low 60s). Not sure if that’s a sign of high water content in the ice cream? But overall the texture is thick and flavors on the spot, so maybe I was just nitpicking ?

Review: Incredible Ice Cream at Monterey Bay Creamery
While visiting the area, we saw a sign for homemade ice cream at Monterey Bay Creamery and just had to stop by and try it. We ordered the coffee ice cream, and I must admit, it was out of this world! The flavor was rich and perfectly balanced, making it one of the best ice creams I've ever had.
The creamery lived up to its homemade promise, and the quality was evident in every bite. I highly recommend Monterey Bay Creamery for anyone looking for exceptional ice cream. You have to try it!

Really good ice cream. Staff didn't seem. Very motivated but working food with tourists on an insanely busy weekend. I can understand.

The churro bites were so good.
The help was not so polite. Answered our questions without looking at us in the eye. Not really planning to visit again.

The staff was incredibly rude. Also, the ice cream tasted fine when tried but in a shake it tasted absolutely awful.
Add to that it was incredibly overpriced (tiny shake for $9)
Tropical Delight sundae was very refreshing!

Stopped in after dinner for some ice cream. Had the strawberry in a waffle cone and it was VERY good. Fresh tasting. Fair pricing. Loved it.
Chris was awesome! He was super friendly and helpful and made us two awesome sundaes that were delicious. The price is a bit up there, but that's coastal cities for you. We weren't able to finish it so at least we got the most value for our money :)
