Very nice place with great food, interesting drinks and slow service. We were surprised though tha there were bread plates and a butter knife but, no bread served. And the one drink that should have had mint, they “ ran out”... I have a mint plant at home in a pot, never runs out and, well... Safeway has mint... otherwise great...
First time dining at Montrio and so glad to have found this restaurant. Staff was welcoming and the decor was modern but not overly formal. Our waiter, Bill, added some character and storytelling to our dining experience. We started with the pork belly and house salad. Both were delicious. I had the pan seared scallops and corn risotto with bacon — which was amazing! I think we found a new regular spot when we visit Monterey!
We came to celebrate my mom's birthday, and from the moment we walked in, we felt special. The host—who I believe was also the manager—was incredibly welcoming and made sure we were seated at the table of our choice. Our server was friendly, attentive, and offered great wine recommendations. The food was excellent: the salmon was perfectly cooked, and the vegan mushroom “scallops” were absolutely delicious.
