We had a fantastic meal at the restaurant last night. Drinks, food, atmosphere, service. Everything was outstanding. One of our goals being in Monterey was to have an outstanding Italian meal and the restaurant exceeded our expectations and every way.
Had the calamari, the sand dabs with pesto spaghetti, and the fettuccine with seafood. Location great, food great - I'm very particular about calamari and this was cooked quite well, the sand dabs are absolutely fantastic! Only one thing I could ask for was the lights to be a little lower so we can enjoy the view. We went well after sunset, dark outside and way too bright inside. Other than that, great staff, food, and will be back on our next trip down from the Bay to try...
Being a low to no carb foodie I always judge these Italian joints by their steamed baby clams, fried calamari and meat options. Their steamed clams in white wine were to die for 9.5/10. Their calamari was tender, well seasoned, lightly battered and not oily at all 9/10. They did have a NY steak option which although I asked for medium rare it came out medium well. They did ask me how I wanted it at first. After it was brought out and I seen how it was prepared I got the feeling...
