The new look is cute but the pastries were a little disappointing. We spent $32 on 8 mini bite size pastries. If they were tasty, that's ok...but they were not. The princess tasted like a stick of frozen butter on a hard cracker with a grainy pink marzipan. The eclair didn't have vanilla custard but something brown, maybe coffee, hard to tell since we thought we were ordering something else. The fruit tart was another mini mound of hard frozen butter and lastly the chocolate mousse cake was all cake, no mousse. Maybe the bread is better!?

Edit 08/2025: It’s been two years since review and a year since i’ve been at this place and it went downhill. Prices are expensive for the little bit you get now and not very clean. Apparently they got rats so not surprised

I’ve been here before and it was pretty good the first time. The food is good but the customer service is lacking, they made me a chocolate milk instead of a chai and then argued with me that it was a chai. Then they told me it would be a long wait to remake it which doesn’t seem fair since they messed up my drink in the first place. Will give it another chance in the future but I expect better customer service in the future
I recently visited The Paris Bakery in Monterey, and I can’t recommend it enough. They have an incredible selection of baked goods and pastries. I tried the butter croissant, and it was absolutely perfect—flaky, buttery, and delicious. My girlfriend had the ham and cheese croissant, which was equally delightful. Even though the bakery was very busy, the staff were super efficient, and everything was presented beautifully. The quality and experience were top-notch. Definitely a five-star experience!

Five Stars for The Paris Bakery in Monterey!
