Weak, at best. Really a disappointment as a bakery. It's just white bread like wonder bread and pastries that had not risen properly. This place should not exist.

I've been to this bakery a long time ago and their baguettes were quite wide which is odd for a baguette. I've been to France, baguettes are usually about 2 inches wide. Very soft and melt in your mouth.
Today I bought a baguette and it was a little too firm on the outside. It was soft in the middle but, not Paris Baguette soft.
I also bought a Cherry Croissant, it was great, very soft and flaky and after the salesperson heated it up for me it was incredible.
Great staff, I was greeted at the door by two young ladies and they were very accommodating. The one offered to heat up my cherry croissant which I've never had other bakeries ask to prepare it for me that way.
The prices are great for Monterey area and I'm looking forward to returning for some of their other items
Kid friendly and wheelchair accessible. Lots of parking on the street.

This used to be a go to place for me and my wife. The food was always excellent. However, since the new ownership, the food quality has suffered drastically. I can no longer recommend this spot.

The staff was super polite and accommodating. Was kinda spendy but the desserts were amazing. Offering free filtered water was nice. My sandwich bread was a little dry. Fancy items! Very accommodating. Table wasn't wiped sadly. Loved it!

Unfortunately, this bakery was very basic and quite pricey for what it offers. Nothing stood out as extraordinary, and the croissants in particular were disappointing—there was no noticeable difference between the freshly baked items and the day-old ones offered at a 40% discount. The interior feels tired and lacks any charm that would make it worth a special visit. The only real highlight was the staff, who were attentive, friendly, and welcoming, always greeting customers with genuine smiles. Their service was the best part of the experience.

Specifically asked for ham and cheese sandwich and received bacon. She even looked inside the sandwich and confirmed ham but was bacon unacceptable 😑 atmosphere is rushed not friendly. Definitely will not return!

You could get a better baguette from Safeway.

A very pricey little Bakery with mediocre food, about like Safeway level pastries, white bread and sugar. Used to be a local lunch place but nowadays it's become more for tourists. There are a couple of excellent bakeries by Trader Joe's that I would highly recommend over this one for food and coffee quality.
The staff can be inexplicably rude sometimes. For evidence of this you could read their other responses to negative reviews.

I used to come here before scuba diving and everything was amazing. Today I came back and was completely disappointed by the pastries. Croissants are supposed to be fluffy and all of them are flat. Coffee was Luke warm. The only redeeming feature is the staff. If the owner responds as they did in another post by blaming the customer, they should take a look at their pasty shelf.
Always a great experience

Been a regular here for over 10 years. The quality and consistency is on point. Easily one of the most iconic breakfast spots in Monterey, and a must stop spot for any friends or family that comes to town!
