This should be a 4.1 / 4.2 spot at best. Food is bland and boring. SO many better options out there. Woof.

I was traveling with my family and we stopped by this charming place for lunch. The food exceeded our expectations! We Armenians know the taste of Mediterranean cuisine and Petra Cafe definitely has one of the delicious menus. Thank you so much for making us feel at home!

Food was good! They were very friendly and we were able to order ahead and have it ready. Parking is a little difficult so just be aware. We got the beef kabobs and they were good, hummus with extra pita bread was delicious.

Warning! You may be compelled to lick the containers of tzatziki, tahini, and the salad dressing. My family and I have had the gyro sandwich, chicken shawarma sandwich, the chicken gyro, falafel, and more. Every item is absolutely delicious. Petras is a Cafe, but they serve restaurant style portions. My favorite for Mediterranean food.

That was very disappointing after seeing 4.5 stars on average. It certainly did nothing to justify that. The calimari was over cooked almost burnt and the rice was just a gluggy mess. The only thing that saved it was the chicken and lamb were very

I stopped today at this little hole in the wall today and had a delicious lunch. I wanted to try a few different items so I ordered the Petra combination plate. Everything was delicious and there was enough food to share. This menu item has a choice of kafta kebab or grilled chicken. I had never tried kafta kebab so I chose that and really liked it.Also, the service was friendly and the food was brought out quickly. I definitely recommend this restaurant for an enjoyable Greek meal.Vegetarian options: There are many vegetarian options such as falafel, hummus, baba ganoush, stuffed grape leaves

Here on honeymoon, one of the better Mediterranean meals I've had in a long time! Family atmosphere, great service, wonderful food!

I found a hair in my falafel sandwich! Ordered as takeout for dinner on July 4. The food was otherwise good, and the service was great, but I was really grossed out when I found a medium-length black or dark brown hair in my food.

We came to eat dinner there on our honeymoon. For $60 we got substandard food on paper plates, acrid Turkish coffee w/no options to adjust taste and left very unsatisfied. The staff member was decent in his service, but that was about the only positive I'd note. Will not be

We had the vegetarian sampler platter and a falafel sandwich. I asked for spicy sauce and all they had to offer was Mexican & Asian hot sauces (I was hoping for something complimentary to the fare.) Everything lacked flavor and was bland.

First impression - not the best service. I walked up and wasn't greeted, waited until he was done on his phone and then ordered. I also had to ask for my drink at the end before I left. I got the chicken gyro combo with fries. It's a really good deal, especially for right now. However, the fries were under cooked and way too salty. The chicken gyro tasted kind of like deli meat. I love onions but these were way too strong. The sauce didn't have much flavor to it but the pita bread was excellent. I love Mediterranean food. It is my all time favorite and I've had a lot of it. Good price but you get what you pay for on this one. It wasn't busy, either, I was the only person in there, minus the gentlemen who came in right as I was walking out. So you cannot blame the 12:30 lunch rush. I don't think I'll be back.

Best service on Alvarado street, the food was perfect. Best and most authentic Mediterranean food in Monterey county.

If you have absolutely no clue about mediterranean food, you probably can like it. Basically, it tastes like 95% Mexican with 5% hints of Greek. It's obviously overpriced, but that is expected in such a location

Food is not Mediterranean as chicken shawarma didn't had species it needed. It's a Taco Bell for Mediterranean food. Service was good. Ambiance was ok. Please have Mediterranean food in a Mediterranean restaurant. Pretty please
