So the only reason I’m even giving the place 3 stars is because the atmosphere of this place is wonderful and it’s in a great location. Plus the coffee is really good- however that’s if you can get the correct order. I’m a local and have gone here several times and everyone my coffee is incorrect, or I ask for something heated and they give it cold. I think the girls behind the counter are always just too busy talking or on their phones to give their full attention to the customers and the orders. This place has such potential- but I’m so tired of everything always being wrong

I visited Plum’s Café in Monterey on 12/17 around 4:30 PM and had a disappointing experience. We ordered two drinks and two almond croissants and waited about 10 minutes for the pastries. When we finally received them, the service felt rushed and inattentive.
The barista didn’t ask whether we wanted the croissants to-go or for here, nor if we wanted them warmed up, which is a basic courtesy at a café. There was no attempt to check in or provide friendly service. Overall, the customer service from the gentleman working at that time was poor and left us feeling unwelcome.
Unfortunately, this experience did not meet expectations.

i stopped here for a coffee and a bagel sandwich, assuming that a small, local cafe would be a better choice than one of the chains. boy was i wrong. i can tolerate mediocre coffee, but this was just bad. it’s clear that they use a very dark, cheap blend of beans and the roast quality was atrocious. you can really tell by how greasy the hoppers look. furthermore, the breakfast sandwich that i got was totally mid. the bacon was underdone, and borderline looked unsafe to eat. i ended up tossing it. the only thing i can say is that the staff was very kind and quick. sadly, i’d prefer mediocre coffee at starbucks or Peets to this place any day.

Great coffeehouse vibe and a great cappuccino. I stopped in on a whim being from out of town and it’s a very inviting atmosphere. Food smells great for breakfast.

Tiramisu was dried and hard. Coffee was just warm upon being served. Servers acknowledge the mistakes and corrected/refunded the amounts.

I thoroughly enjoyed this place, particularly opening hours, as everything else in Monterey opens quite late.

The staff was friendly and welcoming. The coffee was excellent, and the pastries were simply delicious.

I highly recommend this place!

Very below average. The pastries were dry & old. Service and coffee was mediocre. Unfortunate as we were looking forward to trying a new place out.
