This place isn’t your captain stoker or ad astra. It’s that hole in the wall that’s easy to miss, I started going here when Covid happened and it’s where my love for coffee began. In terms of simple coffee like drip, lattes, cappuccinos, americanos it’s the best bang for your buck you could find in Monterey. It’s that nice balance between smooth, and bitterness. Plumes coffee alongside viva espresso & acme are my favorite local cafes in Monterey county.

Don't often go there. Decent coffee shop. Baked goods are from Costco. Staff was particularly charming today.

Tried chocolate shake once and it was icy rather than creamy. Lots of people access internet with their laptops.

Smokers and various neer-do-wells hang around outside.

Wheelchair accessibility: Cramped on inside, side entrance not accessible.

The cortado tasted very good and was reasonably priced at $3.50. Sadly they didn't have ceramic cups and I had to drink my coffee out of a to-go cup.

Dirtiest coffee shop in Monterey. Stay away from this shop. There is mold in the pastry case… I can’t even imagine behind the counters, or back kitchen. how is this shop still running with how unsanitary it looks. Everything behind the counter looks grimy. Owner clearly doesn’t care about the shop to make this place look clean. It is visible to the eye, how old and filthy this building is. I fear some of the reviews were right about this cheap place. Pastries are also all from Costco, and extremely overpriced. Don’t come here, I suggest you go to the coffee shop down the street, higher quality and is at-least clean. On a positive note, Young ladies working were very welcoming and sweet. amazing customer service but trashy spot to get coffee and overpriced Costco food.

Ordered two lattes online at 11, and got there at 11:15 to pick them up but they weren’t ready until 11:37. Not sure why i ordered ahead of time if it was a regular wait time. Great environment, lots of seating. Lattes were decent, but could probably find better somewhere else on the same street. Pastries were priced well, and there was a lot of variety in the menu.

Tried this place twice, coffee was abysmally bitter. It was not even drinkable. Service was prompt and nice.
