Saw that there was a huge line the night before and had to try it out the next day. The ice cream is good but it was melting super fast (it was not hot that day). I got the banana caramel with a waffle cone. The waffle cones here are different than what I am use to. They are not crispy/crunchy but more soft and they kind of tasted like a cookie.

I love this ice cream shop in Monterey because there's nothing like a big generous scoop of ice cream while you walk around on a sunny day. Revival gives pretty good scoops and a cool thing is to do a one scoop split where you can order 2 flavors. My go to is always the beesknees which is vanilla with honey combs in there. I love biting into it and then get that crack from the honey comb. Sooo good. But I also like the honey earl grey as well the coffee flavor. It's super yummy and I try to come every time I'm in Monterey. Beware! you most likely will be waiting in line if you come on a weekend. It goes pretty fast though and that's kind of fun if you are with the right people.

I don't understand the hype. Yes the ingredients are local and gluten free etc. and service is friendly - that's really fantastic ?. But the consistency and flavor of the ice cream itself are lacking.My partner and I tried 4 flavors over 2 days (bees knees, eucalyptus, coffee caramel, and peanut butter chocolate). They're all right but not great so I wouldn't go back. The flavors aren't rich and the mouth feels is lacking - it's all underwhelming. The cones themselves are underwhelming as well - not memorable, no great crunch. And I know it's possible to make wonderful gluten free cones because I've had them elsewhere. I actually got a smoothie bowl a few blocks away and enjoyed it way more than this ice cream. I don't get the hype.[EDIT: Note to owner given prickliness at my review: If the store allowed customers to try flavors before purchasing, I wouldn't have purchased at all and thus wouldn't have a reason to leave a negative review. I did speak to a team member about the flavors to get information and expressed disappointment and confusion since I couldn't try them (one answer I got was: "it's a slushy consistency" how is this possible with ice cream?) so I just got a cone. And the next day my partner got a cone. We came twice and tried 4 flavors. All tasted average to me so 3 stars seems fair.]

Not sure what all the hype is about. We decided to try this place based on the yelp reviews. I don't think we will return. First, the line. It's not very long, but it is very slow. This place absolutely needs to be better organized to deliver the goods faster. Minus one start for this. Second, the issue of not giving change. You can pay with cash, but you must have exact change. WTF. This should be illegal. Minus another star. Now, the ice cream. It is good, but nothing extraordinary, It's not too creamy, not too sweet. Only about 10 flavors.

Dear Revival Ice cream great job having so much ice-cream. That was soo cool. The food was ummy yummy and only Gave me a little bit of gas. The guys were nice and helpful and the bee was so dancing with his knees. Question: how many bee knees go into that ice cream?Dietary restrictions: They had sorbet for the non dairy folksKid-friendliness: You could fit so many kids in there

We had an amazing experience at Revival today. The owner or manager (we weren’t sure) was so accommodating and loving to us. They explained about all the local ingredients and how everything is made with the utmost care. We also had our 1 year daughter with us and she loved her ice cream! We absolutely will be back when we come to visit again.I wanted to add we bought the cold brew fudge, cucumber apple and cookies and cream. We LOVED IT!

I was the only person in there on a Thursday afternoon. I tried the Bees Knees, which was nice but underwhelming in my opinion, and the Coffee Blondie. The Coffee Blondie was soooo good I want to marry it!! ? They also had a cucumber flavor that I didn’t try but the employee said it was amazing. I highly recommend stopping here when you’re in town.
