If we had already had lunch for the day, I would have tried a dozen donuts here. Every single one looked amazing. I settled for this one with a glob of cookie dough on top of it. I have no idea if they have any kind of names, since there was nothing identifying any of the donuts and you had to guess based on their looks. I was 50/50 if this was cookie dough or a cake pop honestly. The guy that helped us was super unhelpful and didn't really want to talk to us at all.
The donut was great, overly sweet of course but I expected that. The whipped cream was actually a whipped cream frosting, it would have been better if it was just whipped cream. The cookie dough was good, but made me want more lol. The donut was soft but nothing to write home about.
This place is tucked under Sharkys in the little "strip mall" area. Don't miss it!

The donuts are just so so. Definitely over priced for the quality. One visible person working. It was dirty. No clean tables.

This place has so much potential! Very disappointed, the donuts were ok, the custom donuts looked good tasted alright, son had a sprinkle donut with about 20 sprinkles ? the place was just dirty, not busy and no one cleaning. The potential is there, detail details details…

If you are looking for a delicious treat to go with your morning coffee, have a backup plan because this may NOT be the place.
It's Wednesday (08/21) our last day in Monterey and my husband and I arrived at the Rock N Roll Donut Bar to grab some donuts before we headed back home. The sign on the door says they open at 9:00am. We were about 15 minutes early so we decided to walk around Cannery Row to kill some time. We came back to the shop to see they were still not open. I checked their website online to find out that it states they open at 10:00am. No problem . . . we walked back to our hotel and decided to wait there for an hour. Around 10:00 we were back at the donut shop but the sign on the door still said closed, even though they do have a small sign out in front of their patio saying they are open! Confusing! Another couple passed us and tried the door which was open. The woman (customer) asked if there were open, only to be told by the gal working behind the counter that it would be another half hour before they were officially open. When leaving we both heard a gentleman (working there) tell the gal once she was done with her tray of donuts that they could open.
Before leaving, the couple told us that they just lost their business and would find another place to buy something sweet.
I told the woman this was the second time that morning we came back to the shop, only to find out that they were still not ready for business.
Despite all of this, I wanted to wait just a little bit longer, as it sounded that they were almost ready and after about 12 minutes the doors finally opened.
I excitedly made my way into the shop and to the counter when I noticed it was completely bare, except for the one tray I believe that girl was previously working on. She apologized and told us that this was all they had at the moment. I was looking at the ONE tray which had ordinary looking donuts that were all the same. Not the many decorated donuts that they advertise on their website or Facebook sites. We were sooo disappointed!! The donuts they advertise on their sites reminded us of the PINKBOX Donuts we recently ate in Las Vegas. Creative, colorful and delicious!
Unfortunately we were not given the chance to try any of the Rock N Roll's donuts because they were not ready for business as advertised.
Oh, and when we got back to our hotel, the manager asked how our day was going and we told him of our donut disappointment. He was appreciative of the information and said he probably would not recommend this place to guests staying at his hotel.

Such beautiful donuts! I'm sad this place is in Monterey, because if it were closer to me I'd go back and try all the flavors. My favorite was the lemon mousse donut: rather than a filling or glaze, it had a lemon frosting that was kind of like a cake frosting, but more light and creamy. Really lovely.

The donut was good. Nothing mind blowing, but looked cute and tasted decent. The consistency was bread-like if you like airy donuts.

Overpriced sugar bombs. The donuts look much better than they taste. Not worth the calories or feeling gross after eating them.

Great doughnuts, not too expensive great location. We ate our doughnuts across the street at the beach.

Parking: Gotta find it somewhere, street can be difficult to find an open spot on. There are several close garages and paid lots.

Lousy donuts. Doughy, greasy tasting, too dense.

These are the best donuts we’ve ever had, vegan or not. They no longer do burritos or sandwiches but still worth a trip for the donuts
