DO NOT GO Dropped by the day prior to reservation 21 oct to check it out and reserved the ONLY table with views for all 8 of us; on upper level Arrived on time 1230; not a soul eating - the place was EMOTY. They quarreled with us about the TABLE reservation; denied it; and said the section was CLOSED . OMG clueless STAFF management . Staff seemed like parking lot attendants, one wore a sporty hat (???) I'm sure others have a marvelous time. Not me
My wife and I drove 6 hours to Monterey for our Anniversary, and this is where we chose to go to dinner on our first night there. After waiting for over a half an hour, we were still not served, or acknowledged by our server, despite the waiter servicing the table next to us at least 7 times, and cleaning the tables around us. We finally just left, and ended up going to Domenico's on the Wharf, and they took care of us right away and turned our now poor mood around. I would recommend Domenico's over this establishment if you're able.
All in all the food was good, my Mahi was over cooked, but seasoned well. Vegetables cooked to perfection. Fish and chips were good. Ambulance was great, beautiful music playing, sea otters and playful seals and sea lions. A little loud was my only complaint. Service was very very good. Felt like I was in an early 1960's fancy restaurant. Will be back
Rockfish was a little dry. Shrimp in shrimp scampi was overcooked seafood pasta was very good.
We had planned to eat at Monterey Fish House but it had at least an hours wait so we came here as our hotel recommended it. Service not great at all. Our drinks took over 15 mins to arrive and came after our starters. No apology given for this. Every time I looked across for the bar the staff seemed to be hanging around chatting and only one bartender making all the drinks for the restaurant. Food was ok, but not very hot so had obviously been sitting waiting to be served to us for a while. Our server was not very present at all. Overall disappointing sadly.
Just because you made it to the end of the pier
I had an amazing experience at Rockfish Harbor Grill. From the moment we walked in, the atmosphere was warm and welcoming, with beautiful harbor views that really set the tone❤️🔥
I suggest to pass on this restaurant. We ordered the half dozen oysters. Nothing exciting, over priced and only served with 1 seafood fork for 2 people. My husband had the Rockfish grill plate. Small piece of fish and nothing memorable about it, even though the restaurant name is Rockfish Harbor Grill. I had the shrimp scampi. Presentation was not appealing. Too many capers and rice, no seasoning at all on the shrimp. Very lackluster. Plenty of other choices on the wharf with great views, don't choose this one thinking the food will match the view.
Great location, but we had a very poor experience. Ordered oysters, never received them. The food had no flavor. I ordered a cioppino, a lot of seafood but no flavor, they charge extra if you want it traditionally with pasta. My wife had a white fish, again, no flavor, very dull. Bread is served cold. This place underperformed for a prime Warf location, very expensive with a very mediocre food. Too bad.
Lovely setting overlooking the harbour. Service excellent. We had three whole Dungeness crabs at $59 each. Said they were 2.5lb in weight. Crab body meat all removed and never seen, and it was served with just the claws. 2.5lb must be the uncooked weight I assume. With three sodas it came to $220. I've had whole crab in many places and this didn't meet my expectations im afraid to say but staff and setting is great.

We made a reservation for 20 people for an impromptu family reunion. They acvo.adated us no problem and service was excellent! Food was great esp considering this is a youriat area and they probably dont even need to try. Will be coming back
Nice location. Food was very bland, no flavor. Service was mediocre. Delivered our food to the wrong table. With that location and high price, it should be better.
It's sad when you can get better fish and chips from the pop up stands on the wharf. The food at Rockfish Harbor Grill was horrible. It had no flavor and way over priced. The best thing about it was the fries.
Food was not good. My son hamburger was raw
The view from our table was amazing! Plenty of sea life to watch while dining. The service was acceptable, but not attentive. I know and love Seafood and this dining experience was very disappointing. We ordered the crab and artichoke dip and the crab flavor was overpowering.(maybe too strong if you know what I mean.) my husband ordered a fried seafood entrée and everything was fine but a bland. I ordered the shrimp scampi and the sauce was just watery and drowned my rice. No real butter or wine flavor. The waiter did bring another side of rice for me without any sauce on it. I asked if they had a garlic butter or something else they could put on the rice and he said no that was just the sauce. If I had to make any recommendations it would be to order a fried entrée or sandwich here.
