Raciest bartender ! My friend got her hand smashed in the bathroom and the bartender kicked her out for defending her self and the girl who assaulted her stayed in the bar becuase she was white. Racist bar we have pictures how her hand was left ! Racism in Monterey county !

My name is Brandon Segovia, proud grandson of longtime owner Larry Segovia and great-grandson of founders Al & Rose Segovia. Reviving this historic bar has been both an honor and a privilege to preserve the character, stories, and traditions that shaped generations before me. After a year devoted to breathing new life into the establishment, the tavern reopened on October 9th, 2025 refreshed yet deeply rooted in its original spirit, carrying forward our family's legacy with pride. Segovia's Bar in Monterey is a hidden gem! The staff was incredibly friendly and welcoming, making me feel right at home. The drinks were on point—perfectly crafted and delicious. I highly recommend stopping by for a great atmosphere and exceptional service.

They've been closed for nearly two months for those wondering why they aren't open even though Google says they are.

Not a very nice barkeep, denied me water at the end of the night, and preferred chatting with probably a patron than providing service.

This is definitely a dive bar. Not a young crowd and me and my boyfriend felt a bit out of place when walking in and seeing only 3 older men sitting. One was smoking as well. Drinks were cheap and made well. Cool atmosphere and nice fire place.

My recent experience at this bar was incredibly disappointing and upsetting. I walked in to inquire about the wait time, and instead of receiving a simple answer, I was met with homophobic remarks from the staff. It's unacceptable to be treated with such disrespect and discrimination, especially when simply asking a question. No one should have to endure such treatment. I urge the management to address this issue and educate their staff on diversity and inclusion. I will not be returning to this crusty bar and will be sharing my experience with others period.

The worst Service in the world probably! This guy (the Bartender) is so freaking cheap, he would ask you for tip on every damn drink and if you refuse to pay he would make a big scene and refuse to serve you! I mean I’m not sure if this guy is doing some charity by serving the customers. The owner of this place needs to reconsider this old man as a server!
