Great atmosphere, great prices, great flavor. Las Vegas roll hit the spot, the edamame was delicious, and the mochi the perfect texture.

We stopped in for a quick lunch and the woman at the front was so nice. Very quick with drinks and brought us Miso soup because it was chilly out. The rolls were fresh and it was well priced.

Fantasticly delicious rolls (with such a fun variety), friendly hospitality, and a cozy place. Definitely going again!

Went here after work with some colleagues. The food and service were excellent. The selection between classic and specialty rolls didn't leave anything out - plenty of raw, baked and tempura rolls. Next time I visit Monterey I will stop here for lunch or dinner! The owners were also very kind and enthusiastic about their food and very welcoming. Great experience

Sushi by the Bay delivers a delightful culinary experience with its creative and fresh offerings. The Hungry Roll, featuring a mix of crab, tuna, and salmon, was a standout dish that balanced textures and flavors beautifully. Each bite offered a harmonious blend of savory seafood and subtle seasoning, making it both satisfying and memorable. For sushi lovers seeking bold flavors and quality ingredients, this spot is worth visiting.

I've been working in Monterey for 6 weeks now, and every week, I've returned here every week. Yes I did try other sushi places, but this one has me hooked

Some really good special House rolls as well as traditional Maki and Nigiri. Great Poke salad. My favorites are Sexyban and Hot Night rolls.

Sushi was fresh and delicious! We got the cherry blossom roll with spicy mayo added and the crazy roll. After spending the day in monterey, we found this hidden gem. Although we really wanted to eat there the atmosphere was nice and it smelled so good inside but we were pressed for time and had to get it to go. My pictures in the car at night don't do it justice.

My husband and I checked this place out for dinner since we were staying at a hotel close by. The young man who helped us was very nice and attentive. Once our order was taken we received our food rather quick. The food was very tasty.

Sushi quality was very bad. We ordered the lunch special and the fish choices the chef selected looked and tasted awful. First choice a crusty dry piece of Tilapia. OMG I was in shock. Then a piece of Salmon that looked like it was frozen since the beginning of time. The last piece this chef selected was a thin piece of shrimp that was so limp I think it died around the bronze age. For the salad it was iceberg lettuce with some purple cabbage submerged in a sauce that reminded me of baby food. For the main course they brought out these 8 little rolls that seemed so autistic and awkward on the plate. Even the fish inside were very strangely colored. The tuna was dark purple and the yellowtail was red like chicken liver. The meal was absolutely a disgrace to sushi and if I was involved in that restaurant I would sell and move on because it's obvious the motivation is gone. The highlight of the lunch was a lukewarm miso soup that actually had an interesting fish flavor. Im thinking it tasted good because it has been sitting around for sometime. The hot tea we ordered tasted like nothing, and the service was a smile and that was the end of the show. We left and went to another sushi restaurant and had a great time. Toro in Carmel exceeded our expectations and turned this disaster of a Saturday start into a beautiful day. Please understand that I love sushi and I was shocked when we stumbled across such a horrible meal.

The fish left a lot to be desired. The rolls were good, but the sashimi and nigiri were not fresh. Even the water tasted dirty. The rice was hot and delicious, and the beer was great. Don't go here if you are looking for good, clean fish.

For example, under a slice of tuna, there was red juice, which I assume to be dye. Great for cooking fish as one gets at Costco; this is not sushi grade!
