Tarpy's Roadhouse

We came to Tarpy’s on a recommendation from a family member. Holy cow this place is AMAZING. Our waitress Carmen had the best smile and attitude. It was àn amazing place and experience. The food left me in a food coma. We are staying the weekend and we decided to come back the next day for dinner to try the other stuff. I ordered the special, Japanese wagu beef with garlic truffle mashed potatoes and 3 bone marrow. It was outstanding and not expensive at all. You think wagu beef and an astronomical amount, but it was priced cheap in my opinion. The Chef also came out to check on a review of his food. Of course amazing!!! That was a great touch for the Chef to personally come out and greet people. If you haven’t tried Tarpy’s, you are missing out on great food. We will be back here and bring other family members on our next stay in a few months.

Tarpy’s *never disappoints!

We held a memorial service here for my beloved in-laws. The staff went above and beyond.

They set the room up beautifully and placed some extra tables out for us, which enabled us to play a video, display flowers and photos.

The food was served at the perfect temperature and was plentiful.

The staff was able to accommodate a group that was far larger than originally anticipated and they were kind enough to set up another large table.

Unfortunately I didn’t capture any recent photos but again Tarpy’s has remained consistent.

A family birthday lunch was celebrated at Tarpys. Food and atmosphere were awesome. The real star of the luncheon was service provided by Natalie. She was kind, authentic and generous of heart. Thank you Natalie

WOW! An impromptu dinner turned into a spectacular evening. Perfect warm setting in a lush oasis of foliage and interesting architecture. The new chef Tim offered up one of the most delectable Corned Beef specials we’ve ever had. A medley of cocktails, salads and their notorious deviled eggs completed the meal. Tom’s service, graciousness and approachability…unmatched.

Let me start off by saying our server was, one of the best servers we’ve ever encountered. Mr Nick from Nepal. Honestly so amazing and wonderful, made us feel comfortable. The food was amazing! My only problem came when our food was being delivered.

Not Nick but a woman, a hispanic older lady I believe, came to deliver our food. We were all talking and I didn’t hear her and all I heard was well steak so I reached out to take the plate which she refused. I thought the steak belonged to the person in front of me since he ordered Well Done but she wouldn’t hand it to me. I looked around confused because the person next to me ALSO reached out to hand to take the plate but she refused to hand it to us! I looked around at everyone in my table and she proceeded to raise her voice at me, almost a yell that the steak was Medium Well and it was mine. I took the plate from her and I had never felt so embarrassed and humiliated at a restaurant like i did there. If I would’ve given the wrong stake to someone else in my table that would’ve been fine! We were family we could’ve easily switched our plates but I did not expect to be treated like that. We would have never made a scene for getting a wrong order. I would hate to say things that aren’t true but it almost felt like racism since our group had someone who didn’t speak english and we were all latinos. I doubt she would’ve raised her voice at any other person there.

After the embarrassing almost shameful moment, Nick came by and was lovely as always. He made us laugh and i had a good time expect for that. Thank you Nick for making us welcome. I’m really sorry for posting a negative review after Nick was so amazing but I was very embarrassed. Thank you

Came here for my niece's 40th with two young boys. They were accommodating, food was great, service was very, very good. All in all a great experience. I'm on a very restricted diet for health reasons and they were happy to grill a plain chicken beat for me. Niece had short ribs, nephews had a burger and kids meatloaf and they ate it all up. I'd definitely come back when in Monterey!

Went with my spouse, a school friend, and a service dog. Called in advance to ensure seating and allowance for a service dog in training (no issues). Everyone was polite, courteous, and attentive.

Food was generous and delicious. Salmon, chicken, and beef were all perfectly prepared and presented. Spouse loved her chicken sandwich and said it was cooked the best she ever had.

I hosted an intimate dinner at Tarpy’s in the Tack Room, and we couldn’t have been happier with the experience. The food was amazing, and the private room was absolutely perfect for our gathering.

What truly made the night special, though, was the staff. They were incredibly attentive and made sure we were well taken care of from start to finish. I especially want to highlight Nick, our waiter, who put so much care and thought into hosting us. He was kind, warm, and genuinely invested in making sure our evening was perfect.

Thank you to the entire Tarpy’s team — and especially Nick — for your wonderful hospitality. It was a special occasion we’ll never forget!

What a great meal! We went there on a whim but were disappointed by the noise. On vacation and we left before dessert. Maybe a different time of day
